My First Time Grow Journal: Pictures, Descriptions, Timelines

Because, why not!? Let's hope she perks up! It seems the new growth on top is not "tacoing". Maybe it is improving! 20180823_181910.jpg20180823_181858.jpg

So I have been trying this method of low stress training in order to get light to all my little nooks and crannies. I use a very light sticky tape and only apply it to the tip. 20180824_170923.jpg

Hello , just a thought as I’m still a newbie! The brownish coloured root looks like possible root rot? Maybe a sign of the drooping leaves ... as for the tape I would suggest staying away from that !! Use garden ties or pipe cleaners as a mild training device to hold down and bend your plants !!! Good luck !

I adjusted the lights on the grow and it seems like the new growth is solid green. The root growth look good except for this really long brown one that hangs in the water. 20180824_181154.jpg

So this is a deep water culture. How far up should the water level be from the cup? I have it sitting right above the water level and it might actually be slightly touching. The bubbles are actually the one increasing the surface area and getting the rest wet. Is that ok?

Until I get pipe cleaners. Is this bent ok? Check out the little ones, while I was in there taking a picture of Martha, rosa, cynthia, and Bianca asked me to snap them too.

You want a slight gap between the net pot and the water level. The discoloration on your root is not a good sign. Your water is nasty. Too hot, not enough o2. As Chris mentioned earlier an enzyme cleaner will help a ton with cruddy water quality. Definitely use pipe cleaners or garden wire rather than tape.

What is crazy is that this bucket has 2 fine air stones, changed water every week and it is doing worse than my plants outside in 100+ degree weather, with no nute changes.

You've had challenges with lights and nutes

Id re evaluate your processes, nute amounts, water pH, etc

I wouldn't stress that plant until it fully recovers

And get hydroguard and z7

But that's me

Just took these on 08/01. pH is finally in 5.5 6.0 range. Chlorine out, roots are solid solid white and have grown multiple strands to the bottom of the DWC. Thanks to all who helped @TurboBucket @Bilbobudkin420 @TorturedSoul. Seriously grows every day like half an inch. I've started trying to circle my bucket as I dont want it grow vertically. Eventually i will top and LST the new tops. Let it veg and get bushy and then switch to flower. 20180901_120459.jpg20180901_120424.jpg20180901_120414.jpg20180901_120420.jpg

All new leaves solid solid green. No more nute burn. Plant looks weird because I'm making it grow in a circle around the bucket, then top it to get busy. Goal is for it to have many nodes and tops! Recommendations? Bad idea?20180901_121311.jpg
