My First Posted Grow Journal

The last shot is so you can see the difference in pot size next to each other

The new pots are three times larger than the old ones. Old ones 3/4 of a gallon, New pots 2 1/2 gallons. Hope this helps me get at least a couple ounces per. :)

Thanks guys, I am getting positive vibes today with the ladies in the new pots. Took allot out of me yesterday. Go get the supplies, lug the supplies into grow, Mix it all up evenly, Transplant, Clean out smaller buckets, work area, grow area, Feed the lovely ladies in the new buckets that they now call home. But i have had time to exhale and i am happy it got done. Now it's time to let the ladies do their thing and continue to flower. Hoping to see some pistils soon. they have been flowering for 4 days now and i figure pistils are on the way and i gotta keep an eye out daily now to watch for the dreadful balls that like to crash the party! :peace:

Happened to find a bag of seed starter potting soil today that i had used after germination. It was enough to do 1 plant so i had to choose. I chose the N.Y.P.D. because it takes 9-11 weeks to flower and it needs to stay potted longer than the AK-48 that takes 7-9 weeks to flower. So now 18 of 19 have been transplanted and there is only one lonely AK-48 that has to stay in the small pot. This will be good to experiment though and see a side by side comparison with same strain different pot sizes at cut time. I will be able to see the differences first hand. Hope these AK-48's hurry up and get the bud outta the oven for me. :Hookah:

Very nice stuff pal! :)
I understand the physical labor pains lol... I like the part where you just sit and watch them grow, so much less work. :)
The girls will be happier in the new pots and I really hope that you finnish the AK in the smaller pot because it is a great experiment.
Take a breath, relax, and let mother nature do her thing. :)

Thanks friend, That AK-48 is stuck where it is. I love a good experiment. Try to learn a few things every grow. Hopefully a few grows from now i'll be pretty good! :)

My hygrometer has been set for 24 hour readings a couple days now. The results are as follows:

Humidity max: 78%
Humidity min: 34%
Current humidity: 44%
Temperature max: 71.8 F
Temperature Low: 61.3 F
Current temperature: 71.4 F

Not exactly sure why the large spikes but what do you guys think ? Is this adequate for flowering? :peace:

As i assumed the white pistils have started to show their faces today. So far i have confirmed 17 out of 19 to be females. I have the other two at the front of the line for constant observation. All together I have confirmed the following:

All 5 AK-48's are (female)
All 5 Blackberry's are (female) including my triploid :yahoo:
4 N.Y.P.D.'s are (female)
3 ICE are (female)

So that leaves us with

1 N.Y.P.D. (unknown)
1 ICE (unknown)

I am thrilled about the N.Y.P.D because i tried growing it before and all turned male so i never got to try it. This time i have 4 confirmed female's so it wont elude me twice. Also i know now that i'll have a great selection. Until you know the female count, your only hoping. Now i know that the majority and maybe all are female's and i will have all 4 strains to switch back and forth with. I love a good selection. I hope to determine the sex of the last two by tonight. Also the pistils are quite large already to the naked eye, so maybe i will try to see if this crappy camera of mine can give you a quick picture of some lovely white pistils today. We'll call it an early bird special again. Love the fact that my triploid not only remained a true triploid, but is female also. The articles i have read suggest that the majority of triploids start off with 3 sets of leaves and revert back to two after a couple levels of growth. Mine did not. Also the articles suggest that a high percentage end up being male's. Mine is female. I envision a normal plant forming it's cola with buds coming together from two sides, then i envision my triploid forming it's cola with buds coming together from 3 sides. :) Cant wait to see the differences between the regular blackberry's and the triploid. Also the AK-48 in the small container is female, so we shall have our side by side comparison of the AK-48 in the small pot next to the ones in the big pots. Alot to learn from this grow. :peace:

Max/Min Humidity & Temps. I would expect high humidity and temps with lights full on for several hours, and min just after lights on after a cool night. The more these can be dialed in the better to ideal, but nothing seems too far out.

Glad to see you gave your ladies more root space. It got me to thinking, since ladies develop significantly bigger root systems- a second set develops as they shift to bud production- the more breathing room they have prior to, the more likely to get females. Just a theory. Anybody care to comment? Personally, I grow using aeroponics (high pressure) with ~ 2 cubic feet of air space for each plant root. Since doing this I get almost no males. Hmmmmmmmm.

Hey THC congrats on all the girls! You're going to be a busy guy lol!

I didn't quote PetFlora but I agree with when the high rh is occurring but that seems crazy high to me. You need to find out if that's what it's like for a prolonged period each day when lights are on because that would worry me a lot.

Are you able to check on them more often? I'd look at the high/low readings every time and then reset, hopefully you can narrow it down. Are you running a humidifier and or a fan? Mine will swing a lot in 24 hrs but I'm talking 20-25 low (lights out) up to 35-40 high.

IMO temps look great and if rh stays in the 40's perfect.

Copied from MJ Growing guide Growing Marijuana Indoors - Indoor growing tips and Marijuana info

Temperature

The ideal temperature to grow marijuana is around 75 degrees F or 24 degrees C. Plants though can survive from around 40 degrees F (5 degress C) to 100 degrees F (38 degrees C). Humidity in the grow room should be kept between 60- 80%. Above 85 % and the risk of mould is greatly increased.

To give the min/max some perspective, during veg push to higher end of temps and humidity, but lower end during flower- just as in nature.

Thanks blue and flora , I run an oscillating fan for about 6 hours a day during lights on and i point it between the bulb and the tops , so that the ladies dont get too hot. Also i foliar feed only once daily now right before lights out,so that when the lights go out the leaves are quite wet. However i believe i will stop foliar feeding in about a week. I almost always stop foliar feeding around a week or week and a half into flowering so that i'm not dilluting all the sticky trich's that start showing themselves on the leaves and bud area's. Gonna go reset the hygrometer now and get a fresh reading tomorrow to compare the two. Not sure if space for roots is necessarily a female induceing process but it may help. However the one in the small pot showed female already too. Thanks guys, will report on the other two females later after i check em out. :thankyou:

Congrats on all the girls. Will be watching closely now as I have NYPD coming in the mail.

Thanks hemp, Hope the last two are female also. So far no males though :yahoo: Both times the N.Y.P.D.'s were strong ,very disease resistant plants. Solid strain, this time i could give you a smoke report :bong:

The last N.Y.P.D has been confirmed as a female. :grinjoint: The only one left undetermined is an ICE plant. We shall have another look later for an observe and report jobbie. So far that's 18 out of 19 that have been confirmed to be females. :) My camera isnt good enough to focus enough on the few pistils that are out , so hopefully you will be able to see them on the Week 1 flowering photo's this weekend.
