My First Journal, Kanno 26: I Will Grow 6 Critical Plants From Royal Queen Seeds

I don't think that perlite is going to change the characteristics of coco much, but I am not the person to ask. Bill is your best expert on coco, so do what he says and pay no attention to the advice I have been giving you regarding soil, puffy leaves or feeding... all of my advice was for a soil grow, not coco.

Lol. Bill sure has a lot of coco business being steered his way lately.

How about a new sub-category under the name contest? The title is Resident Expert, and there are several different ones, like Resident Expert - Coco, RE - Soil, RE - Training, RE - Watering, RE - DWC, etc, etc. You have to be nominated by another member anonymously for the RE title in whatever the specific arena. Probably a vote open to everyone. That might be cool.

@Emilya, @Bill284, and if these girls in those little pots with something I transplanted into the soil with perlite will it have any effect or should I follow your watering plan? It's so hard;)
Hi Kanno - that one's not hard, I had the same question. If you began in coco, stay in coco. If you began in soil, stay in soil. The two mediums have two different Ph requirements, by half a point. When I asked Bill it was not recommended to mix coco with soil. Did I get that right Sensei?

It's best to run one or the other imo.
Otherwise I've seen people run into issues.
I'd go coco , bokashi and frass all day. :thumb:

Stay safe

So I have to buy one I thought it didn't have that effect but obviously I was wrong we'll see what Master @Bill284 says, I have coconut for the first time and I didn't know at all that it can't mix and in gardening they advised me to make coconut and then soil with perlite for the rest so I don't know;)

Pick one or the other my friend is all we are saying. :Namaste:
Small pots can be transferred into what ever you pots you want.
Just keep it which ever you pick.

What happens when the RE's are in disagreement about fundamental issues? Then we will need sub categories of REs, such as those in Soil who flush and those who don't, those who pH adjust and not, those who believe in upward drift and those who believe in fixing the pH of the soil. Some REs will prefer to work in the shadows and privacy of PMs in a one on one situation and without criticism and others will like to openly teach what they know and welcome any feedback... this is going to be a hard list to maintain. :hmmmm:

But this is a coco grow, no? I thought with coco you were supposed to never let them dry out.

@Jon ?
That changes everything then. True! Then if so then meh, little growing pains. Look to the new growth. These are still settling in. My grows have times of questions with no answers similar to this, maybe give it a few days and re see it.

Hi @Bill284, I have a question for you, please if I want to give the girls silicon and put it in water according to the dosage per 1 liter of water 1 ml of silicon jumps my ph to some 4.8 is it ok or should I dilute it more? Thanks for the reply ;)
Set your ph to 5.8 my friend.
When I mix it I do a big jug.50 or 100 liters depending on which is available.
.5 ml / l @ 5.8 ph.
Then once a week I would give all 50 ladies a drink of silicate after feeding.

Stay safe
Bill

Okay, thanks @Bill284, I'll just dilute it and it'll be fine;) thanks again.

One more thing @ Bill284, I checked the girls yesterday and they were still wet and today after work I went to see the girls and they were all completely dry can it have any effect in the future? Thanks for the reply.
