My First Indoor Grow 2400w HPS Soil Medium - Advice Welcome

Re: My First Indoor Grow 2400w HPS Soil Medium- Advice sought

It's not that unusual, the details of the transplant will explain why this happened, and there are a few precautions you could take if it's just a fussy strain. The light is fine at that height.........a good move putting it far away to the newly transplanted cuts. If you wanna explain your transplant technique we can go over it and see if there's anything that could be done differently to prevent the "droop", other than that + reps!

hey bro, ime some will wilt a little when transplanted, also depending on how strong the root structure was when transplanting...the light should be fine, 6 feet sounds more than adequate bro.. what you COULD try for the ones that are drooping and looking a little bad is place a plastic bag(clear, opaque or even yellow will be fine at this early stage) over them to increase humidity for them again.. or some kind of makeshift humidity tent or dome. they may be sensitive to coming from the high levels of humidity whilst in the cloner and misted to being planted and exposed to the dryer ambient air.. this is just a thought though- others may know the solution. i am certain this should perk them up though.. and once perked up you can take the bag off- a day or two max i reckon... by that time they would have settled into their root system more and should be strong enough to take the transition.. my 2 cents worth brother :cheesygrinsmiley:

best of luck! :peace: :ganjamon:

Thanks for that bro those yellow plastic bags sure come in handy too. I dont have any fan in the bathroom and i think its getting pretty dry in there with the light going, the windows open a bit but its a still night. I had a shower before it got pretty misty that could have helped because they're actually looking better, if i have too ill shower four times a day. i might have panicked a bit before. Kinda feel like theres a calamity around the corner, hopefully with a few successful grows under my belt that,ll pass.

Thanks for your help mcloadie I fill the new bag, dig the little hole, put a touch of water in the bottom, place the cut in, pack the soil down around it, and water again.

i didnt use alot when watering in because the potting mix looked pretty moist out of the bag. I took the photos about an hour after transplant and putting under the light, i expected some droop but was really worried i was frying them with the light.
Cheers for the reps :cheesygrinsmiley:

Just some fussy little girls probly, I do it the same pretty much. Ya know, I have some rooting hormone, that's loaded with b-12, I have spiked the water I use to settle em, or water them in. In a conversation recently, I was discussing how the amount of water I used to do this was based on how comparable the soil on the transplant was to the soil in the pot, I have seen the soil in the pot draw from the transplant and cause a little droop or discomfort to the plant. Good Weed my friend!

How do they look this morning Dasher? Any change?

I agree, they are probably just a little shocked from the transplant. If you suspect they are dry a humidity dome could help and/or you could mist the undersides of the leaves. If you had not said you just transplanted them though, I would have thought they were over watered. If it were me, I would do nothing for a day and see what they do.

Those caramels look great. I get happy when I see that slight yellowing on new growth. That means the plant is growing FAST! :yahoo:

cher bro! ;]
well.. i dunno if i would call my clone box a "clone box" :p lOL its more a tupperware container with a plastic bag over it hahaha  ive made aero cloners before and THEY ROCK but the ole 'plastic tub-n-bag' hasnt failed me yet... cloners are very easy-plenty of info around on how to make em CHEAP.. just need a water pump really and access to a bit of pvc piping/plumbing from mitre10 to make a basic manifold and a few misters/sprinklers OR simply use some irrigation tubing(instead of pvc) to connect to the water pump. if you ever go that way there is a guy on trademe that sells decent water pumps/motors etc(esp good for hydro if you decide to go that way) for CHEAP, lemme know if you want his details and i'll PM them to ya. the 5000L/h water pump im currently using cost me 100bux as opposed to sog's 480bux for a water pump with slightly less capacity! amazing shit.
yeah man, not looking good AT THE MO for the sog owners.. i feel for ma mate who runs the local... could be out of a job.. family to support, kids to feed n all- hoping things turn out for them.. but im sure another supplier will take over where they left off.. not a helluva lot available herre in that respect.. in my neck of the woods there arent any other options- if they shut down it'll be ordering from the west coast or wellies or even OZ.
tu meke brother, good to see ya here :cheesygrinsmiley:

take it easy bro :peace:

OH, before i scaddadle.. you might need to put your link in your signature between tags.. so that when you scroll over it it'll link to this journal.. basically, just copy and paste the link you have added into the "link" field.. its that icon that looks like the planet earth with a little figure 8 at the bottom of it.. next to the smiley emoticon in the tool bar above.. but do it in the settings page :cheesygrinsmiley: u can add other things too and change the size, colour etc there too if you so desire.. it took me a while to figure it out honestly as im such a noob with stuff like that loL. cher bro

I do the same exact thing. A gladware container with a feeder fish baggie over the top! Works great

mine do the same exact thing when I move them from dome. Just mist them a few times. They'll perk up

Ive turned my ensuite into a veg room for now, i need one and luckily i can, got to get a tent very soon. The clones have been transplanted into potting mix and pb8's, only got a 600watt hps with no digital ballast, a few look pretty droopy but most not that bad. Ive got my light 6 feet from the tops and i cant go any higher. I was wondering if the lights still too intense or wether just a few will wilt like that when transplanted ? any advice is gladly received :Namaste:

Thanks again for link advice Alkhemist :thanks:
mine did the same exact thing. They're used to the humidity. Just mist them a few times here n there. They'll perk up

Thanks Hiker as you say ill leave them as is for another day, They actually look fine this morning that worst one looks perky again. I showered in there and its raining today, im getting fresh air thru the window so hopefully that all helps. ill check regularly and if they look like they,re drooping again ill give them the underside mist.

Im actually amazed at how easily they root even in a basic set up, Alchemist doesnt even use rooting hormone so im just going to try a dab of honey next time or none at all. Feeder fish baggie :hmmmm: dont get them on my side of planet or we probably call em something different. Seem just get their environment right whatever the means and they'll do their thing.

i just took cuts yesterday wrapped em in rockwool from the loft and poured a loada warm water in the bottom of the propagator till it covered most of the rock wool placed lid on it and put it next to the heater for a few hours,24 hour later still look nice n perky in the propagator, just wanted to see if it works haha

ha ha those numbers can build up in no time, all added im pushing what im comfortable with legally so Im having a cull in a few days once my transplants have settled. You know now ive cloned, when i top this veg as its Autumn or Fall ill find it hard to just toss all that potential away.

haha... just a clear plastic bag they put fish in at the pet store. They are deep and skinny so the fit over a Tupperware dish good and leave room for air.
