My First Grow

So with 2k watts and 960 grams, do you think you hit about .5 gram per watt per month and were you aiming for that? (This was a 4 month grow, right?)

well, I sure wasn't aiming for 1/2 g per watt, but thats how it came out. a gram a watt or better is where I wanna be. stay tuned for coming attractions...

you do have a thing for that gdp, don't you? if i have extras (?), i will let you know. thnx for comin around....:grinjoint:

Yeah... and apparently you do as well... you said it was great and you're growing 40 in your next grow... LOL. I can't seem to find any GDP clones around here so if you end up having extra's I'll find a way to get them here... LOL.

Yo... HD... Haven't really looked into the laws in Cali... Are Medical Patients from other states covered under the law? If I come there from another state with a state issued medical card would I be able to pick up some clones from dispensaries? If I would I may take a road trip and set up my trunk with some DWC and flouro's, come back with a bunch of new strains... LOL!

mebe we could just float you back on a cloud of gdp smoke.....:smokin:

HOG_DIDDY. Congratulations! 960g from 2k is big poppa.

if you get 1/2 g/w you are doing everything right. but I'm sure you'll up that next time bro.
I'm not convinced that you realize how lofty a goal 1g/w really is. . . definitely attainable with all the technology out there to fine tune. . . but it would be very impressive.

If I'm wrong, please speak up anyone, but I don't think any member here is currently pulling over 1 g/w. some are close though.

1/2 a g/w is better than nothing bro... I'm sure you'll hit 1 g/w in your next... What's the plan adding on a crossbar with 2 more 1k's and CO2?

hey Wheelo, my mistake. Since I am upping light to 4kw and expecting 4+ lbs, that is the same yield per watt, just more watts. guess I was out gettin hi during math....:grinjoint:

Nice journal Hogdady, I'd be well happy with .5g /watt....good job! :grinjoint:

I am happy with the yield per watt, just wish I hadn't skimped so much on the watts! Thx Kailpot! :smokin:

Yeah... Costs money though bro... I'd love to add another 2kw and a crossbar to mine but damn if I don't have the $1500 to do it... LOL.

So you gonna continue on in this thread or are you gonna start a new journal with the next grow? Have you started work on the room yet? I can't wait to see what's gonna happen with the extra 2kw...

I read that with a light mover you can multiply your lights wattage by 125%. If thats true, that equals 5kw of light. If I can get 1/2 a gram per watt, that is 2.5kg. Thats $7-8k more than this crop. Can't afford not to....

Not sure yet..probably start a new one. I'm just not much of a host...

Still waitin on the rest of the GDP clones and my C02 bottle and controller. Also have to fab the C02 emitter that I'm gonna build outta 1/2" pvc. When I get my shit together, I'll throw up some pics......:grinjoint:

Yeah... I just mean... right now I can't afford it... after this crop the money can go back into the grow but I can't come up with the extra money now... LOL. I want to... believe me I do but if I throw 1500 in now and I'm raising my total wattage to 4k then I prob won't be able to pay the light bill... LOL.

Cool bro... when you start it throw the link on this one or something so I can def. jump on it... I'll be waiting... LOL... :bongrip:

Hey Hogdady... What do you think the downfall of 4 600w on the LR5 vs 4 1000w would be?
Man... could spread the arms out all the way and put 6 600w on there and only have 3600w but maybe sneak more plants in... What do ya think?

H2OGanjaFarmr :ganjamon:

I guess I don't see the reasoning of 6-600's over 4-1ks. I am already concerned about the weight of 4 lites on the mover, so that is movin in the wrong direction imho.....

I think the mover can handle 90lbs per crossbar and I don't think the lights would be over 30lbs a piece... At very least the manufacturer says each crossbar can hold 3 lights, but I thought I saw somewhere 90lbs... I was just thinking you'd be able to streatch it out to its full potential doing that... I'm thinking about doing that when I get the money just not sure what someone else using the LR5 would think... The benefits I could see are... overlapping footprints and lights closer to the canopy with less wattage... those dual 600w Lumitechs are the same price as a 1000w...
Do you have the crossbar streatched all the way out with those 2 1000k's on it?
What do you think of the 4 600's instead of the 4 1000's... I can't see any downside and there would be a lot less watts used?

the downside is the watts per sq foot. I have a 100 sq ft gro area. At 50 watts per sq ft, thats 5kw of light. 5kw is 125% of 4kw. So with 4kw I get 50 watts per sq ft with the mover. :grinjoint:
