My First Grow: Grape Ape, Agent Orange x Huckleberry & Purple Skunk Mass

All done. Here are the girls in their new homes, watered, and hopefully happy. The closest I could get the 2X four foot LED shop lights was about 9 inches above them. I figure I should start with the Fox Farm Trio nutes in about 2 weeks, once they get well settled in to their new homes.

I can't wait for the silver mylar emergency blankets come in so I can give these girls the light they deserve! Unfortunately, that's all that my budget will allow.

I've never had that happen,so I'm not sure how to proceed from here...I know @George Mc
just cut slits in the sides of the cups, and planted cup and all,but it's up to you if you want to do it that way-
You could just let them go that way,and then cut the cups off, leaving the bottoms where the roots are poking through, and plant them in the new pots, cup bottom and all...
IF it were me,I think I'd just go for the bigger pots now-actually about a week or so early, but they'll grow into them in no time-the roots have reached the bottom of the cup (and beyond) so they pretty much want to grow...
I forgot to mention that I also cut a huge hole in the bottom of each solo cup. I did the cup inside the cup trick to hold all the soil in until I was ready to transplant into the final pot. When I did the transplant at 12 days there were already roots coming out of the bottom of the inner cup.

They look happy there!

n/m double post ,somehow

Great journal I’m a little late but I’m subbed :passitleft:
Thanks! This is my first ever grow, so I'm not really expecting a huge yield from these girls. But I'm hoping they come out decent though. Hopefully by the time I get to the flower stage I'll have the funds for better lighting. For now, I plan to top each one twice, then add some type of scrog or similar to increase the area and yield. Kinda risky for a first time grower, but I've been reading a crapload of information so it should go okay (fingers crossed).

Hey we all have to start somewhere. I started in a 2x2 tent and I put a scrog built of pvc in there. I didn’t expect much but I got about 4 Oz I was happy. Lol

Added a low tech CO2 generator... :D
One gallon warm water, one small can tomato paste, one cup sugar, two teaspoons active dry yeast.
Also have a small fan on low to circulate the CO2 throughout the room.

Update time. Made a few changes - added some mylar and foil, lifted the girls up one level, removed one shelf. I was gonna use the shelf as a scrog but figure by the time I'm ready for it I'll have a little more money for the real scrog netting. Planning on topping 3 of these plant twice (leaving one of the Grape Apes to form a natural cola), then manifolding and schwazzing them. I'll have 2 more lights by then (pulling a total of 180 watts), so with 3+1 plants I'm thinking/hoping this 2X4 space will get full of colas. The thing with the lighting is, in addition to not having the $$$ for better lights, the electric here sucks and I'm not sure I can pull too many watts. I can't even run the coffee maker and microwave at the same time or it'll trip a breaker.

Wow,they're all looking great,Chef !
Microwaves and coffeemakers pull quite a few amps compared to your lights,so you'll probably be ok
if you add a few more.
You may need to shut the lights off to make a pot of coffee or heat up a burrito,but.....;)

J/K --you should be fine- maybe you can plug your lights into an outlet that's on a different circuit breaker?
