My First Grow: Georgia Pie

Day 43 Tuesday (01/03/23)

Today I am leaving the girls alone, I only raised the light a few inches due to the transplant they appear taller. But so far they all seem to be loving their new homes

GP1- She has filled out a bit more since her fimming, and seems to be enjoying her new home.

GP2 She also seems to be adjusting well, although it appears that something is nibbling on her🤔🤔 I have not seen any pests so far so i’m stumped.

It really amazes me how much things can change in a day. I really love this journey💕thank you everyone who is following along and those of you who have offered words of encouragement, advice, and critique. I appreciate you all very much.
If everything goes according to plan I will have one more transplant to go for GP1 and GP2 right before flipping to flower maybe around 01/20 or so the girls will receive their final homes of 4 gallon pots. They will also receive their first dose of Gaia Greens- 2-8-4 around this time, and I will still use Gaia Green 444 along side it.I plan to flip to flower on my birthday 01/25 depending on how they are doing. For GP3 I will have to see where she’s at, and then I will decide what to do.

Happy Growing💛💛💛

GP2
She was also transferred from her 1 gallon to her 2.5 gallon pot. I saw some brown on her roots I will be watching her closely.

All pots were filled with 75% fox farm ocean soil, and 25% worm castings.

This was after a tiny bit of water and LST

I have moved the pots closer again for the time being while RH is high.

Happy Growing💙💙
😱 Wow look at all those beautiful roots looks like they are on the way to a healthy life 👍👍💚💚

Well done on the up-pot. The roots look nice and healthy.
Thank you so much Carmen 💕 the brown spots are not rot? There were no weird smells or anything come from it🤔

Thank you SJB, i’m hoping they stay that way I don’t plan on leaving again for awhile.💕

Day 44 Wednesday (01/4/23)

Good Morning everyone,

As the girls seemed to have settled from their transplant this day they all received water and LST these pictures are immediately after

GP1

GP2- She seems to have longer stems than GP1. I wonder if I fimmed correctly as the little at her fimmed sitep
appear to be growing on her and GP3🧐🤨.
ADA9F705-0702-4E98-B7BF-E797CAFFFA84.jpeg

GP3- Her fimming site is growing as well… should I do it again? Maybe they are suppose to? I’m not sure I just kind of assumed they wouldn’t but then again I didn’t top only fimmed. Maybe I didn’t go low enough🧐

The last thing I did before lights out was rotate the pots and switched GP1 and GP2’s space in the tent. So for now GP2 will be on right.

Thank you for tuning in, happy growing🧶🧶

Day 45 Thursday (01/05/23)

Happy Thursday🙂 I hope everyone is having an amazing Thursday. The week is almost over and I am tired😂. I haven’t done anything but I'm not a party person so going out and being extremely social just makes me tired(don’t get me wrong I have a lovely time and loads of fun). I guess that makes me an introvert. I have one more party tomorrow for a close friends birthday and Saturday my kitten turns one. After this week I will be in the house for a few months to recover and replenish my social meter😌.

On to the plants, I checked the tent came this morning and completely forgot that I switched GP1 and GP2 switched places so now GP2 is closest to the camera. I thought GP1 grew a few inches over not until I remembered “oh that’s just GP2”

GP1- She’s doing just fine this morning and received LST, no water yet today though.

GP2 - I’m almost certain i didn’t do something correctly with the fimming because what are these😅? She also received LST and no water yet today.

All of their other leaves are “normal” with five fingers. Just around the fimming site are they this way. Maybe I will try to fim them again? GP1 was also fimmed and she’s fine. All thoughts and suggestions are always welcome. 😄

Happy Growing💕💕

Day 45 Thursday - 1/5/23
Last Update 😅

GP2 has been re-fimmed

GP3 has also been re-fimmed.

I plan to water around noon today and I have RH at 80 and temp at 77 today.

After that I will be checking in on them from the tent cam, but I will leave them alone. I suspect tomorrow GP3 will be livid but only time will tell.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if a FIM was done correctly for a while because of ragged leaves that grow out of the spot. But if it worked you would have more than two branches coming out of that node rather than the two that would have normally been there.

I've never managed to FIM so I just end up with some ugly leaves and a regular topping. I generate additional tops with LST or supercropping.

Hey Lexi, where ya at? I hope you are having an awesome weekend! The plants look green and happy. So can you manage your tent remotely?

Thank you so much, I still cannot tell if I did it correctly by looking at it. Although on the next run I will definitely start fimming and/ or topping much earlier than I did this time, to make them much bushier, as they seem very compact.
They are looking great 👍💚.
Thank you so much💕

Carmen, I am having a wonderful start to the weekend. I hope you are enjoying yours as well. Yesterday as I look through my camera roll I did not take any pictures of the girl🫣😱😱. Yesterday went by in a blur, I worked then directly after work I got ready for my good friends birthday party and did not come home till 12:45am this morning😂 I will be posting an update later today. I can control everything remotely except for water (for now) 😊.

This is not plant related but today (1/7/2023) is my little loves 1st birthday( her name is Yori)

Do not worry the car was parked😊
I look forward to catching up on everyones journals. I have 125 notifications.

Yori is beautiful and she looks suitably restrained. Is she on a lead? Happy birthday Yori! 🥳
You'll have to get the water automated somehow Lexi, this just won't do :)

Thank you! She is wearing a harness and leash, while driving she is kept in the back seat and “buckled in” so to speak. She is still a nervous rider. She was only up front because we were about to get out the car. I have found a few automated waters that I can control remotely over wifi. I am still researching to see which I will buy. Although I only will use it when I go out of state. I enjoy watering the girls myself when I’m home.

Day 47 - Saturday (01/07/23)

The girls were watered this day and pots were rotated slightly. Everyone was given LST and I have noticed lower growth is starting to get bigger, they have started to bush out a bit more.

I’ve noticed that GP2 and GP3’s second fimming didn’t seem to stress them out as much as the first one.

Once flipped to flower is it recommended not to transplant into bigger pots? Are the more temperamental?

Before flower I will be installing larger fans and changing the carbon filter cover.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful morning , noon or night.

Happy Growing💜💜

They're looking great CH! Most folks will transplant at least a couple of weeks before flip since most root growth happens in veg, but some does happen in flower. So if you find yourself with a plant that looks like it's outgrowing it home during stretch it's okay to upcan.

Still, it's better to do it in advance so it will really utilize the new space in time for flower.

Thank you so much😊 I will transplant into their final homes at the end of next week around the 01/21 and at this time use gaia greens 2-8-4 mixed into the soil.

Day 48- Sunday (01/08/23)

These pictures were taken at 9:18am The girls were all watered, pots were slightly rotated and they all received light LST. Pictures are directly after watering.

GP1- She hasn’t really had any issues since her transplant.
8E7FB396-D9FD-44B0-9F91-14DE844AAF9E.jpeg

GP2- I moved the light up 1-2 inches as I noticed her new growth at the top was getting slightly burned. She is the tallest.

GP3- She received the most water as she definitely needed it.

Here are a few night time shots from the tent cam

GP2 takes up most of this picture, you can barely see GP1 behind her or GP3 to the left.

Luckily the cam rotates, and now you can see GP3 to the left and a little bit more of GP1 “behind”.

I am excited to flip them to flower soon😊, for my first grow I didn’t really have expectations. The only thing I really thought was “I’m pretty sure i’ll be able to keep them alive, at the very least I don’t think i’ll kill them😂” , at least not in the veg stage. Thank you for being on this journey with me.

Happy Growing🌸🌸🌸

Day 49- Monday (01/09/23)

Good Afternoon Everyone, I thought i’d start off today’s journal with a tent cam picture from this morning.

In this picture you can see GP3 to the left, GP2 to the right, and GP1 is “behind” them.

GP3 has finally perked up as she looked pretty sad yesterday.
E227064A-9FFE-4506-85C4-513030FA0868.jpeg

The pictures below were taken at roughly 12:30pm today.

GP1- She is still doing okay.. I am tempted to cut one of her big fan leaves to allow for better light penetration, thoughts? She has a lot of smaller leaves underneath. She was lightly watered and her pot rotated.
I would also like to preserve one leaf of each plant to laminate them and turn them into book marks to keep them in memory of my first grow.
8F1CAA7B-CF11-4B80-9166-F39C5850CE1D.jpeg

GP2- It might just be my mind playing tricks on me but some of her newer leaves look a bit skinny for lack of a better word. I’ll be keeping an eye on them. She was also lightly watered and rotated

I have started looking at hanging supplies.. assuming I will have something to hang after flower. I am concerned about mold, and drying due to georgia pie being described as “tightly dense” and am looking for ways I can combat/ prevent this. I will already be adding more fans, and possibly a dehumidifier.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Monday.

Happy Growing 🍀🍀🍀

Taking a big fan at this stage won't matter much to the plant at this stage. Worst that happens is it grows another fan up top to replace it, and that's a good thing. :)
I would also like to preserve one leaf of each plant to laminate them and turn them into book marks to keep them in memory of my first grow.
Nice!

I have found that the first fans the plant grows are always larger than the ones it puts out as it gets taller, but that may just be me.

It's best to combat that during flowering rather than wait for the dry. Besides keeping the RH low in the tent as they ripen (a dehuey works great there), you can pull the buds away from each other and the stem for better airflow. @Amy Gardner did a post on that here. I'm currently doing it on an accidental auto I have where the top two nodes are very tightly grouped.
