My First Grow An A 4x4!

Patience is the biggest hardest thing to learn. I forced myself to wait an extra day if I thought they needed water. So let's say water every 3 days if the pot felt light and the top soil was dry I forced myself to wait one more day. So far so good but you have to resist over watering
Yea. I'm def gunna do that from now on.

Once the seedlings are toddlers, try not to mother them to death. Don't overdo the nutes. Water thoroughly, then let the pot get light before watering again. The less you fuss with them, the better they do. I know, I know, hard to leave those beautiful living things alone! ;)

If you plan on applying any training to them, just tie them down while young to keep the future canopy even. You're looking for low and wide, so they don't hit the lights when they are mature. But you need to start the training when they are 4 nodes high, while they are still flexible.

There are lots of tutorials for different types of training on this site. LST is a good place to start.

I just realized that you have experience growing. So go with what works for you. :Namaste:

Gunna top when I have 6 nodes and do a manifold. Never done that before bit I think it looks cool and wanna give it a go. Yea I'm not gunna water for another day or so since the soil is still wet. I misted the plants when I woke up. The 2 smallest ones have not grown at all which I'm not sure is normal? Havent ever started from seed before. I'm sure they will make it still but its hard not to worry about them. I have the humidity domes on top of them but seems to not be collecting as much humidity in the bottle as I think it should be. Should I screw the caps on? Haven't fed them any nutes either. Will most likely ne started around week 3 I think. I dont have any right now. Prob gunna go with the fox farm trio. Not sure yet tho. I just want my little ones #4 and #5 to start to get bigger and show some better signs of life. Weird that they didn't grow the same they are all under the same conditions. It is what it is I guess. Just don't want 2 to die cause I don't have very many seeds left and they are regs so some will be males.

Plenty of help around here those baby's will grow to b a happy family I'm a auto person also they grow massive as well but the best part is the auto switch now I don't have to switch bulbs or timers at all I grow 24/7

Thanks! I love this site. I'm gunna post and update again later. Have a headache and didnt sleep well so its nap time for me right now.

Okay update time where do I start? I got a moisture and ph meter stick today. Stuck it into soil read 7 for ph. Not ideal so I'm thinking I'm going to buy a bag of some organic compost mix in some with some of the soil I got with some added peralite. Maybe. The peralite I could find is miracle grow brand, I know yuck! Feel like a chump for giving them my 4 bucks:/. It says it has "enriched plant food" on the bag. Ingrediets are - total nitrogen 0.07%, 0.35% ammoniacal nitrogen, 0.35% nitrate nitrogen, phosphate 0.07%, soluble potash 0.07%. I think it will be fine. If anyone thinks otherwise chime in. The ingredients of my soil is -total nitrogen 0.12%, 0.012% ammoniacal nitrogen, 0.012% other water soluble nitrogen, 0.096% water insoluble nitrogen, phosphate 0.12%, potash 0.12%, calcium 0.12%. Don't have compost yet but was thinking of making a mixture of all 3 to lower ph a tad for when I transplant. Is this a good idea? I'm ordering a set of ratchet light hangers, ph up and down, and a ph pen tonight so I'm excited for that. So far the first 3 plants look good. Thinking the ph is kinda bothering them but not much I can do atm for that. Plants 4 and 5 are under bottles with the lids resting on top not screwed on. They are staying humid. Misted the plants and I think ill be able to water again tommorow or the next day. Will depend on how the soil looks. Hopefully I will be able to get some nutrients soon aswell. I was thinking the fox farm trio for soil. If I do add compost will it affect how much I should add nutrients wise? I know when you use "super soil" you dont need to add nutes or ph but I dont think my mixture would count as super soil. If someone could chime in and help me understand that a bit more would appreciate it. What else? Kinda poor atm so might not be able to get smart pots can't find them and they are like 20 bucks on Amazon:/ might just run them in 5 gallon buckets this time. Anyway here are the lates pics.

Looking good. I would comment on the nutrients, but I know nothing about them.

I'm sure someone will stumble along and help you with those.

@Troy01 @TheMadDabber

Yes. The more you have in your medium (soil) the less nutes you feed. The perlite you have is okay. Yes there's "better" I just prefer mine without any nutrients.

Everything looks good to me. Trust me she I say you can grow big with a low budget.

The trick is actually spending money on the things that are required and not getting suckered into non essentials.

Best of luck I'll be round if ya need anything....

Seedlings start to put on bulk after they establish good root systems. Be patient. ;) Each plant has a slightly different mix of genetics and will have different phenotypes (growth patterns).

I have two babies I am mainlining, too. Another grower just harvested his mainlined plant and it was not only awesomely symmetrical, but also grew low enough to fit between two shelves. So that was my inspiration, and a solution to my headroom problem with the third and only other space I have to grow them out. My two taller units are in flower, so are out of service for a couple months or so.

Leave the bottles you are using for caps open. The extra moisture needs to vent, and it will help the babies acclimate themselves to the lower humidity of the room when they are older.

NO NUTES until they are 4 weeks old! The soil and what is left of the cotyledons will provide all the food they need.

How long till they establish a strong root system? My oldest plants will be a week tomorrow.

Depends on the strain and the individual's genetics. Even a stable strain will have variations in offspring, as the chromosomes sort them selves in the pollination process. But by a month, you will def have some leafy youngsters.

I have some more seeds a friend sent me that i will have tomorrow so I'm stoked about that will be growing two strains. Wouldn't tell me what strain they were lol so maybe he semt more than 1 type. Who knows haha. I'm just glad ill have more than 1 type of weed to smoke.

Small update. Getting a tad bigger starting to see the 3 fingered leaves. Almost positive the small one with the white leaves is going to die unfortunately:(. Hasn't been growing and the round leaves are starting to go bad. The other small one is fine just a super slow grower. It came from a super small seed. Ill have more seeds on Monday and will start some more. What i am excited about though is my 8 day old plants already smell super dank which surprises me. I bet the weed turns out killer. Hopefully they are all females.

Well its a sad day for plant 4. Idk why it died. Its in the same environment as the others so im thinking it was just a bad seed. It happens but still dissapoining nonetheless. Anywho, I know there hasn't been much development with the plants but i thought id share in memory of plant 4 lol. He had a good 4 day a of life. Plant 5 still has no leaves showing and is really growing super slow. Hope it doesn't share the same fate as 4. 1, 2, and 3 are doing surprisingly well even though my ph is a little high. This upcoming friday i will have my ph pen and the ph up and down so i really hope they continue to do well until then. So far so good so I think they will. On two leaves plant 2 and 3 one each the tips very small part almost impossible to see are bleach white. Do you think this is a ph issue or maybe just light bleach? The plants are 24 inches away from the light a little less since they have grown a tad. Should i raise the light a bit? I found some spider mites on a reg house plant in the living room today which freaked me out. I put the plant outside and will trash it tomorrow far away front the house. I'm gunna clean my tent tomorrow amd make sure its totally spotless just in case. Has anyone bought lady bugs online before? I want to have some in there to play it safe. I'm rambling though here are some pics. If I forgot anything ill make another post .
