My First Grow... Afgan x Mazar

i have no idea, but it's kinda weird... cuz the professional stuff seemed to grow much better. now the bagseed is growing bud like a motherfucker compared to the AxM. w/e. the only thing i worry about is when i do the big strawberry cough grow this summer after I harvest.

I've been thinking about harvest times and strategies and such lately. I'm thinking that I cut the bud down, trim off loose leaves, hang to dry for a said period of time (someone instruct me how long they need to hang out), then put them in air tight jars and allow them to breath for 30 min a day for about a week before I smoke it. then I'll have them in the air tight jars all the time unless I'm gettin some to toke.

It depends on how thick the buds are... a good rule of thumb is when the stem snaps, 4-10 days, then they go into jars... 30 mins once a day will not cut it, you gotta burp them twice a day at least for the first few days... then you can cut back... I won't touch mine without at least a two week cure... Just keep an eye and nose out for mold, it sucks to get this far and then have mold destroy all that hard work...
 
and the best pot is always when you've smoked it all but that last jar and you pop that thing open . . . delicious!
 
Good to see you still truckin along man. I haven't been to this site in a while now, but I'm still growing away. I have 4 in flower now, starting on March 30th. Glad to see you have plants still!

thanks for the advice Irie. I'm a little off on the whole mold thing tho... when might they get mold? durring drying or curing?
 
coool, good to know. the ladies are doing great, no real changes... lol, that's why no pix in a while. i'll get some pix up here soon. i don't want to put up bud porn till the girls are of legal age and such, you know what i'm talking about. hahahaha :rollit:
 
hey guys, a quick question. I have to harvest in almost exactly 3 weeks, if not a day or two sooner, is there a way to quicken up the bud maturity? I've heard that by switching to something like 10/14 or 24/0 again would make it mature quickly, tho a loss in total mass of final product could happen. remember, the final product weight isn't important, I'm trying to learn what the plant looks like when it's ready for harvest and how to properly harvest it. The ladies have some bud now, the Bagweed still much more than the AxM. I'll put up some pix later today!
 
wow, i've heard of changing lighting times dramatically works, but never starving them of water, i would think that would make the bud bad and not make as much of it. Anyone else heard of that?
