My First Attempt

Once you get your soil and your hood and get everything dialed in i would say its worth the effort to use reverse osmosis water...

Now your gunna get your growers who believe its not necessary in soil.

But look at my current journal... as soon as i stopped using my tap water and started using r/o water my problems went away.

It takes out the guess work.

Youd be surprised at how much easier watering, managing ph and ppm or ec becomes just starting with a clean slate like r/o water

This 6 week old runt just refuses to die. Not that im trying to kill it but it grew super slow...im just gonna ride it out.
It probably will be ready for flowering this summer lol

I use tap water and let it set for 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate. Then add my nutrients and PH. I never had one deficiency and never used cal mag. Unless you have your own RO I would at least try the tap water. Also there can be a lot of beneficial minerals in tap water. At least it works for me it all depends on the quality of your water. Just my two cents.

R/o is a new term for me. Just when i thought i had all my terminology on point i found out about this on. Ive been using bottled water an ph tap water. No nutes at all in the whole 6 weeks still haven't seen any def problems. But ill still do my research on it. In the future i want 3 of the same strain. One using r/o, one using bottled water, and the 3rd w/ ph tap water.

I have an RO portable filter but am using tap water right now. I just let it sit out to get rid of some of the clhorine. Just have to make EC allowances with tap water. PH is still easy to control though.

Keep em frosty ya'll

Your golden child looks good for what you had to work with. The runt is a different story. Lol. It will be interesting yo see how they turn out. I can't wait to see what you can do with some good genetics and grow media.

Thanks bro for that......what's EC? I'm not gonna even try to guess this time lol

Electrical conductivity is a way to measure dissolved solids in a solution. In the States people tend to use PPM/Parts per million.

Ooooh ok bro gotcha gotcha. I thought i had to buy something new...but yea i got a temperature/ppm tester. Cool. Thanks for that info.

Your gunna love that ffof!
I say your because your gunna love seeing your plants thriving!

Hows the drainage on the runt?
I think itll take off in a bigger pot with better drainage and some better soil. So dont kill it yet
You doing good tho glad to see your system coming together

Thanks fam i certainly cant wait. I wish i was rich so i could buy all my supplies at once lol, but naw the drainage on the runt does suck. And when it dries out its hard like desert dirt.

I agree, up pot the runt in better soil when you get a chance and she'll take off just fine. Most of us put together our setups over time. It seems to me that upgrading equipment is a never ending quest or it is for me. Lol

I bet thats where your problem with it is...
I would definitely fix the drainage
Then see how it starts to dry

If it keeps drying like a desert i wouldnt let it get that dry maybe watering it over a 2 day period half now half later?

Something to keep in mind when you get your soil and your adding nutes is when your soil goes from wet to dry and back wet your ph increases and decreases Especially when you start adding nutes and water regularly.

Point being maybe with the drainage being off and the soil drying so fast. Your ph isnt in a usable range for very long
This is something to keep in mind when you start adding money in the form of nutrients to your plants.

And i wish the same thing
But if i was rich... It wouldnt be a 3x3 600w by my bedside..

No itd be 100000w of mh/hps/cob grown in some big ass factory somewhere...

I think my man skinny black (ludacris) said it best

"Everybody's gotta hava a dream"
Lmao
