You are correct, only LED companies who are 420 magazine
sponsors are allowed to be posted to 420 magazine.
Simply mentioning a Non-sponsor company is free advertising for that particular company that does not pay for advertising here on the site. That is against 420 magazine Sponsor policy, and that hinders the advertising that
Sponsors pay a monthly fee each month in order to have their ads posted to the website.
It definitely wont kill the site at all. It weeds out the shitty LED companies that are out to simply make a buck, and not promote good products.
"Due to numerous spam attempts from non-sponsored LED companies, we no longer allow grow journals that showcase non-sponsored led grow lights because the resellers try to sidestep paying for advertising by posting numerous grow journals on various websites."
"Any grow journals that are found to be showcasing or promoting the lights of a non-Sponsored LED company will be deleted. It's unfortunate that a few bad seeds have to ruin the sharing of knowledge for everyone else, however
if we allow this to continue, none of our sponsors will pay us to advertise. We are truly grateful for your understanding and support."
This is the part of the
guidelines that explain why non sponsor LEDs can not be pictured and showcased here on 420. Without
sponsors to pay for advertising, this site would cease to exist!
Yes it is very biased and almost doesn't seem fair to those who use non-sponsor LED's, but its keeping fair to the
sponsors that are kicking up money to 420 mag for exclusive advertising rights.
