My 2023 Perpetual Grow - Organic, Partial SIP

Well damn, thanks GDB!

I like science n experimentation plus I’ve managed to improve the yields and quality of my buds over time using these methods. When all your buds are top buds it makes things that much better.
The hope is that I or anybody can look back and compare strains because of the consistency of the grow. Some main details have changed over time, like lighting, but overall much of the important stuff like the soil is constantly re-used to provide a baseline, so when you see a plant like the Ghost Train Haze come along you know it’s something different.
Thanks a lot for the comments! I really appreciate all the comments and support after POTM!

Good morning!

TL;DR Plants good. Chopping GTH #2 today or tomorrow, slow drying whole plant. New seeds?

Its about time to pop a new seed, but not sure what to do now, wait for new POTM seeds to come in or sprout something from the ones I already have. Kind of thinking about doing another GTH plant since the first two were the bomb. Since I'm about to harvest, I should already have a seed sprouting. To wait or not wait? Any suggestions?

First up this week is the OG Kush seed #17 after 5 weeks flowering. This plant has not really done a lot over the past week. The buds have gotten a bit fatter I guess. It is still very crystally and the leaves have remained very dark green. I still haven't done any defoliation or anything. Kind of been lazy on this one but at the same time I don't like doing a lot of defoliation. The top buds and canopy are pretty even, so I assume I'm using nearly as much of the light as possible.
Usually on a plant like this, by now a bunch of the bottom leaves would be going yellow and falling off due to lack of light etc. but its not happening much on this one.

Lastly and finally is the Ghost Train Haze seed #2 (420 Mag Dec 2024 Plant of the Month) after 10 weeks flowering and it will get the chop probably today. This one doesn't smell like the first GTH plant, but it still smells pretty good. Really hoping the terps will carry through the drying and curing process like the first one. It still kind of looks like it did last week in terms of the percentage of red hairs. The leaves have yellowed up a bit, but I can't help feeling like I could wait another week. That doesn't really fit well with my schedule though.
I'm going to let it dry for up to 14 days since conditions in my drying area are nearly perfect, so I can hang the whole plant for a nice slow dry. It really depends on the weather holding. At first it will (hopefully) be cool temps at around 40-45% humidity which I should be able to raise to 50-55% as the plant dries out. To me, this is one of the most important parts of the grow, so I try to pay attention to how the plant is drying out and trim as soon as complete. The bud will be stored in jars, some with 58% humidity packs, some without.

Finally, a shot of the flowering area:

Looking good, congrats & happy chopping day, i'd wait for the prize seeds

Thx @con ! Maybe some patience will pay off.

Just chopped a mid-area bud off the GTH #2 and its stinking up the place. Also, I got some shots of the trichomes. Seems like slight amber with mostly cloudy trichs. Still some clears.

Man that's some high quality trichome shots! I bet that's going to be some solid smoke.:lot-o-toke:
