My 2023 Perpetual Grow - Organic, Partial SIP

It seems I might have some slight deficiencies with my Quebec Blue seed #1 plant!

I'm thinking this is a lack of potassium and/or magnesium, but thought I would try here because I'm not used to dealing with deficiencies. This soil is on its second use with no added compost, so I'm not too surprised there is a deficiency, but how do I fix it before flowering?

These are two of the worst examples on the plant, but most of the top leaves show it to some small degree.
:(

Alright, first up this week is the Gelato seed #8 on day 9 of veg.

Second up is the Quebec Blue seed #1 on day 56 of veg, and per my last post is experiencing some kind of deficiency, showing on the newest leaves. I've topped up the SIP using flowering feed, to help balance out the nutrients instead of just feeding Alaskan Fish Fertilizer. Not sure what to do at this point, so not doing anything more until I figure out what the problem is. She has been growing and spreading out nicely otherwise.

Last up is the Ghost Train Haze seed #1 on day 29 of flower and she has started popping out trichomes and smells. It smells a lot like orange peels, very citrus/acidic smelling which is very nice. The buds have puffed out nicely from last week, and this one is just running smooth in the SIP.

:Rasta:

These things are kinda fun to grow with.
Almost downright boring. I still remember the days of dutifully watering every day or every other day. What a chore that was! Now its common to not even see my flowering girls for 3-5 days and I'm probably averaging nearly 1/2lb per harvest. Quad-lining + SIP FTW!

Now I've just got to figure out this deficiency in my one plant...

Thanks @Fladawg01 !

Just a quick update, everything is going good, the deficiency in the one plant was solved by adding some flowering feed to the veg feed it seems. The Ghost Train Haze is almost finished, smells like orange peels and bud leaves are purpling nicely. Here is a shot of the Quebec Blue over the past 3 weeks, you can see the change in activity as she switches into flowering:

Still on vacation from the journal, but will get back to regular updates soon.

So I've been away for a while, but intend to revive this journal, probably will post some pics soon.

Update:

The Ghost Train Haze seed #1: This plant came out VERY nicely. I harvested almost 5.5oz from that plant back in August and OMG it smells and tastes so nice. Probably one of if not the best smoking plants I've grown. It has a very citrus-like smell and flavor, reminding me of orange peels. It smokes great and leaves you with a great aftertaste.

The Quebec Blue seed #1: This plant was harvested in early Sept, so I don't know how it smokes, but it had a very mild, nice smell. We will see how this one turned out soon. Not one of my favorites unfortunately.

The Gelato seed #8: This plant is on week 9 of flowering and coming along great. The smell is mild, but kind of fruity. I didn't get the wild sativa variant this time, but hoping for something good in the end!

Up and coming is another Ghost Train Haze (seed #2), which has been quad-lined in a SIP per usual and will veg for probably another 2 weeks or so. That followed up by OG Kush seed #17 also in a SIP, which was a bit stunted after sprouting, but is coming along nicely now about 1 week behind schedule as far as growth goes.

Getting prepared for a nice long winter grow when my conditions are dryer and more suitable to having multiple plants in the tent. Really looking forward to seeing how this next GTH plant turns out!

I got some pics of the grow from this morning. I finally decided to try some of the Quebec Blue and its not bad. It smokes OK and does the job, but not much for terpenes, even while it was growing.

OG Kush seed #17:
This one came out weird, I had to help it out of its shell, and the cotyledon leaves mostly just stayed white. I had to open them up so the first 'real' leaves could grow out and get light.

Ghost Train Haze seed #2:
Quad-lined and almost ready for flowering, this plant is coming along nicely, looking healthy and strong.

Gelato seed #8:
She is almost finished, been feeding just water and will let the SIP do its thing now until harvest, with no more feedings after today.

Still having a great time growing, SIPing and doing all the things.

Good morning you pot-heads!

Up first today is the OG Kush seed #17 on day 25 of veg. This one is a bit stunted but I managed to keep it alive so far and will keep it going even though its not the biggest plant at this stage.

Next is the Ghost Train Haze seed #2 after 45 full days of veg. You can see I prefer to keep a short plant and try to take up as much square footage as possible with the canopy via quad-lining. This plant is stretching out nicely, not seeming to mind the training much.

Last is the Gelato seed #8 after 65 days flowering, its finally finishing up. There is still some water in the SIP but that will allow it to go another 5-7 days probably before showing drought conditions. I will let the SIP dry out, maybe water it once after the drought, then harvest.

Alright, this week I harvested n hung the Gelato seed #8 plant after 67 days, 9.5weeks of flowering. I had to bust the plant up into 4 chunks to hang, instead of the whole plant, since I could not manage to cut through the bottom stem. It was just too thick and strong. I will give 7-10 days of drying before I chop, with possibly more drying if it is not ready before putting into jars.

Up first we got the OGK seed #17 after 31 full days of veg. This plant is starting to take off a bit now.

Last up is the Ghost Train Haze seed #2 after 52 full days of veg. I like how this plant is coming along, but I let it dry out too much in the beginning stages, so some of the earlier leaves have spots and look kind of crappy. It seems to be doing better now, and I will keep up the feeding regularly.

That is all I got, nothing in flowering yet!
:rollit:

Up first this week is the OGK #17 on day 39 of veg. This one should have been trained a bit already, but I haven't had time. Will probably start today. She is finally coming along nicely with a good growth spurt over the last week.

Lastly we have the GTH seed #2 on day 60 of veg. She will go into flower today. I've let this one grow out a little longer than my standard 50 days since I have room in the tent and I want as much of this stuff as possible. It was super good last time.

:yummy:

Another Saturday!

Up first of course is the OG Kush seed #17 on day 46 of veg. I finally started training this one, and have kept it fed pretty well so far. SIP is doing its thing!

Lastly is the Ghost Train Haze seed #2 on day 7 of flowering. This one is popping hairs and stretching nicely. Hoping the stretch continues for at least another week or two.
:rollit:

First up this week again is the OGK seed #17 on day 53 of veg. This one is growing very strong stems with short internode spacing as expected. It will take a little while before this one is ready for flowering.

Lastly is the Ghost Train Haze seed #2 after 14 days flowering. This one has stretched quite a lot, and the light penetration is really good, so I am expecting some large tall nugs here. Just hoping its anything like the first GTH seed and I will be happy. Also wondering if it will continue to stretch into week 3 of flowering...

Lots of growth this week, now we get into the exciting parts of the grow!

First up is the OG Kush seed #17 on day 60 of veg and coming along OK. This plant was stunted in early growth, but is now doing pretty well, just behind schedule. The internode spacing is short as usual, and the plant is fighting the training every step of the way, so I have to stay on top of it.

Finally the Ghost Train Haze seed #2 after 21 days flowering. This plant continued to stretch and grow buds at the same time all through the 2nd to 3rd weeks of flowering, and I am very happy with the nutrient regime and overall success with this one. Its HUGE! Its hard to tell in the pictures, but the buds are spaced out pretty well allowing good light penetration all around. If this one is anything like the first GTH plant I will be super happy.

Welcome @g-one-three ! And thanks!

Ok, up first today we have the OG Kush seed #17 on day 67 of veg. I will have to let this one go another week before flowering, because it is just too small still. I want a bit bigger plant. The leaves are all dark green and the plant is strong and healthy, so that's about the best I could hope for at this point. As I kind of mentioned last time, the inner 4 branches are super thick and strong, this plant is fighting hard against the training, but I kind of have it under control now. I am adjusting the training wires every day or two on specific branches, and keeping all the side branching in check as well. Quad-lining can be a bit of work, but I'm finding its increasing my yields quite a bit so its worth the trouble. I've considered using a net, but I have nowhere to attach it in my veg area, and its too difficult with a perpetual grow, with plants being in different growth stages.

Lastly we have the Ghost Train Haze seeed #2 after 28 days flowering. This is one of the nicest plants I have grown so far! The buds are really starting to swell up in just this short period and the trichomes are starting to develop, although there is still no smell. I just trained a few branches last week, to bring them outwards a bit, but other than that all the hard work is done. Now I just keep the SIP topped up until its ready for a drought, then I do less work and let her go a bit dry lol. The flowering area temp/humidity is good during the night, but a bit dry during the day, which will be the usual all during winter. As usual, hoping for the best on this one.
I've had the new ViparSpectra XS2500 LED panels for almost a year now, and damn! My costs per gram have gone way down from the 600W HPS days, and I've been able to use more light in the veg cycle. There is no noticeable decrease in yields with just a 250W LED panel, and I might go as far as to say there is better light penetration etc, because the LEDS are spread out over a wide area instead of being a single-point light source. Very happy with this purchase.

That's all I got for now!

Got some pretty pictures this week.

First up today, as per usual is the smaller plant, the OG Kush seed #17 after 73 full days vegging. The branches are starting to take over, so its time this plant went into flowering. I did the best I could with training, but this plant just wanted to beef up its stalks and stems wherever I trained it instead of stretching out. It came out ok it seems, so should get a nice sized harvest in the end. Its interesting how the same techniques and training produces such a different response in different plants.

Lastly is the Ghost Train Haze seed #2 really pushing out buds after 5 weeks flowering. Orange hairs are starting to show on all the buds. The smells are just starting to come out, and it seems a little different from the first seed I grew. Still fruity and nice, but it doesn't have that strong orange-peel flavour, at least not yet. Anyway, the buds are swelling, the leaves are green and everything is coming along nicely.

And lastly a shot of the flowering area:
