Well I guess it's my lucky day! Just checked my P.O. box and got my lost shipment from Amazon after they already put my money back in. Called them and they said to just keep it and apologized for the inconvenience.

Fantastic - Just like my missing shipments.

It would have been interesting if it were a seed order and you neighbor accidentally opened it...

Hoping to get some feedback. I've heard alot about the fox farm ocean Forest to be great soil but that it can be "hot" I had planned on mixing it up like stated in the first part of my journal but started chatting with a guy about this product (Coco Loco) I've attached pictures... He says it would be perfect to start the seeds in and then whatever I have left I can mix in with the rest of my products (FFOF, Happy Frog, Perlite, worm castings ect. Once I transplant them into the bigger 5 gallon buckets. Whatcha think? Anyone know about this Coco Loco by Fox Farms? Also I now plan to put the germinated seeds into rockwool cubes before they go into the Dixie cups with this soil but not sure what I need to do with the rockwool... Do I just soake it in pH water before adding my seeds? Thanks in advanced!

re: Rockwool Cubes - All you need to do is soak in water (doesn't take long). I give them a gentle squeeze to make sure they aren't too saturated. I generally use distilled water but PH'd water should be fine. I found that if you pop the seeds in and put in a Tupperware container (to hold in moisture) and set them on my internet router (gives off the perfect heat) in the dark they will pop in a day or two. I then move them to a site that has filtered light (in my tent with a little shade cloth over the top). I like to keep them in a humidity dome for the first week and then temper them by taking the hood off a couple hours at a time.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah I bought a vivosun heat mat for germination and will be getting a humidity dome as well. I think I got the germination down pretty well as far as the steps to be taken but was courious about the rockwool and this Coco Loco soil. Have you ever heard of it or seen someone use it?

Be careful with the heat mat. My first grow of this season I tried germinating on top of my heat mat and I think I fried the seeds. I only got a 1 for 6 germination. I think yours has a temperature control if I recall correctly. Mine didn't and when I checked my temperatures would spike to about 98 degrees.

I've seen a number of people use CoCo Loco and if used properly they have had good results. Like the other product you mentioned it can be a bit hot. I personally prefer to use straight CoCo and add my nutrients at a rate that I'm comfortable. When the plants get to flower they need to drop the nitrogen level and I'm not sure how you can do that with a precharged mix.

Makes sense on the soil. Just having a hard time trying to figure out what's best but I guess like all of us it's trial and error. The heating mat may have a temperature control I'm not sure as it just arrived and I haven't even opened it yet. I will say I've been watching this YouTuber that really knows his stuff and if I do it exactly as he did I shouldn't have a problem. He used a shot glass to soak the seeds with a coffee mug over it and then when put on to the paper towel he uses 2 kitchen plates and has the seeds sitting towards the rim of the plate then puts the other plate on top it all while sitting on the germination mat but still I will take your advice and keep an eye on it to be sure. I would be interested in going straight coco Coir like you but would need some help if decided to go that route. The nutes make me nervous.o_O

For nutrients I used Advanced Nutrients PH Perfect products. They have a Sensi line that is specifically designed for CoCo. The nice thing is it automatically adjusts your PH so you don't have to fiddle with it daily. It also already contains Calcium and Magnesium. I still add Cal-Mag as a precaution. Besides that there's nothing to it. I start at 1/4 label strength and at the highest only go to 1/2 strength.

One good thing about CoCo is it is almost impossible to over water.

My plants seem to like it - (All the plants are Autos)

That is sweet Troy01! Your pic just got me excited! So you run straight coco the entire grow? Anyway we could link up some way with our email so I could pick your brain a lil better? Your really making me wanna just forget about the mixing of all the soils lol...

I used straight CoCo from seedling to final. I'll send you a private conversation with my e-mail address. My second grow of this season I started my seeds in Rapid Rooter Cubes and then straight into CoCo in a Solo cup. About a week later into the final pots of CoCo.

So gotta an update as I've made some progress while aslo making changes to the grow. Decided to go with 100% Coco Coir for my medium... I'm using coco Coir from Cyco (Platuim Series) along side Botanicare (Kind) nutes and starting seeds into rockwool cubes. I've attached pictures of material and beginning progress so far. Got 5 for 5 for germination and then into the rockwool and just after one day they are already popping up. Still under the humidity dome for higher humidity and only 2 of the 4 T5 bulbs are on until they grow a lil more in which I'll hittem with another 200watts.

Your a PaPa! :goodjob: Really looking good. Once I see a couple roots come out the bottom of the cube I put them in a Solo Cup filled with CoCo (lots of drainage holes) as an intermediary step. You can also starting prepping your final pots with CoCo. I usually transplant after about 1 week in Solo.

To transplant I did a hole in my final pot, then I cup the plant between my fingers turn upside down and tap a couple times and it will come out as one piece the I quickly flip it into the hole and fill it in.

Making progress! Humidity was around 32 percent so had to bag em to increase. 2 days since they popped up

Looking good buddy. Glad you put the humidity domes over the top of them. I often use a 1 liter bottle with the bottom cut off as a dome.
Thanks bud! Yeah I didn't save any bottles so had to use the big ziplock bags but it got the humidity up to the high 60s so seems to be working pretty good. I'm excited! :rollit:

Wanted to share some more pics of the progress. This is 7 days from when I put them into the paper towel. I have fed them 3 times now with Botanicare Kind Base, Kind Grow and cal mag 1 mL each into 1 gallon of pH 5.8/6.0 water. Letting them soak up the light been keeping them on a 20/4 cycle but will switch to 18/6 this week. I turned on the extra 2 bulbs (200watts) total now (400watts) 2 days ago as when they got their first feeding and will be feeding everyday from now.
P.s. photos taken with my Google pixel XL 2
Love the camera on this BadBoy

Can anyone tell me why this seedling is acting funny compared to the rest? It's been the slowest one since day one but now it has me concerned. The sucker leave dosent seem to wanna fold out just stays tucked tightly underneath... Looks to have a dark look on the tip. Not getting this from the other 4 white widow Fem seedlings... Any help or input would be much appreciated!

Here's a pic of the whole gang
