Munki's 576 Watt LED & Hempy Style Flower Power

Flower day 25. All clones watered and fed again today. Looks to be a daily event from here on out. I trimmed the leaves that were dead or drained of movable elements.

Lookin good Munki, that Ogre is a beast :bravo:

Thanks for stopping by, Butcher. Yeah, she's a bit out of control for indoor lighting, but has some good traits for ScrOG.

Flower day 26. Trichome production has been noted on the plants at this point. Did small rub tests on each. The Blueberry Wowie wins hands down in the smell department. Strong and already gaining complexity. :thumb:

Flower day 27. Not seeing any appreciable stretch anymore, so we are in the latter stage of flowering from here on out. Hairs on the Ogre are quite long and thin. Numerous bud sites in the plant. Master Kush buds keep fattening up with thick hairs. Resin production kicking in. Blueberry Wowie is looking to be quite the resinous specimen. Just love its bouquet after rubbing some resin between my fingers.

Like I said pages ago...maybe even on the playground journal....you are going to set the bar for hempy grows.

Everything looks just perfect!

Question from a lazy reader:
What is the NPK, Ca, Mg of the Lucas Formula?

Here is the profile. GH Flora Micro on the left and GH Flora Bloom on the right.

Very nice!!!

Thanks rhizo and :welcome: to 420 Magazine! Hope you enjoy our friendly community here and glad you are a part of it. :peacetwo:

Flower day 28. Last night was the first night I did not monitor the watering until completion. I think I made a mistake assigning the off time on the timer. Damn digital ones are easy to make a mistake. I wanted an on time of 7:30 and off at 7:45 but I saw it tonight at 8:45! :yikes: Thank goodness for those button flow restricters. With a max flow of 2 gal per hour, I did not overflow any tub. All tubs did have some fluid in them so I had to take out all the plants to properly drain them. At least I now know that the Ogre and Master Kush got fully watered last night. Problem was that the fluid was above the hole on some of the plants so they were sitting in nutrient fluid for 24 hours. Only about 3 - 4 inches but still notable. All plants look great ATM. I was able to take pics of them out of the tent in florescent lighting.

High Munki, those girls just keep looking nicer and nicer :thumb: I've thought about putting my hempies in tubs filled with a couple of inches above the damn hole, for times when we go away. Great to hear yours weren't bothered.

Great work, thanks for sharing it!

Wouldn't recommend it long term, but who knows. Hempy style pretty much consists of this very setup but all contained within the bucket. If enough root of the root mass can remain above the water line, it may be OK. Root rot would be the main concern (Pythium).

I wasn't going to abandon them! :)

Flower day 29. Well, I made some changes to the tent. Probably blows the thread name but what the hell. Did not expect all plants to be female so in order to get enough light to all plants, I installed a 600 watt HPS in the middle of the tent and then situated Ogre under it. The other four plants go to the edges with LEDs.

Easier access to most of the pots and better light penetration.

I have it connected to a Quantum digital ballast. The LUX reading at the center, top Ogre bud exceeded 100,000 LUX so I stepped down the power to 75%. Still spinning the power meter something fierce though.

Your plants are getting the full spectrum between the HPS & LED's together.
One question though, are the HPS rays heating up the housing for the LED's?
In your pic, the light from the HPS seems to be beaming right onto the back of the LED lights.

Those pics are supercool!
Those plants look simply amazing......Lucas Formula done right.

Thanks Doc. I've had a great environment this summer, so I would attribute some of the success to that. Minimum temps of upper 60s and highs in upper 70s (low 80s earlier in the grow), and moderate RH are factors that were supplied by nature to my area. A big controllable factor I attribute to success is constant air flow in the tent 24/7. No CO2 supplementation for me, so I can do this and I feel it is critical to plant growth and resistance to fungal attack.

I guess it is possible but not to an appreciable degree. The LED housings are painted white and are made of steel plus those housings are ventilated with active cooling of their fans. Besides, these LED panels run relatively cool anyways and the HPS hood is vented. I'll stick a temp gauge on top of one of the housings to find out and I'll report the info here.

The LED panels can also be vertically hung for good side lighting; just no room for me to do so in this grow.

Thanks for your question, Bad Karma!

Flower day 30. Plants all seem to be doing well in the new configuration. Rubbed a few sugared leaves for smell tests. Smelling the Satori 3 made me cough almost like I took a :roorrip: ! Each plant has its own distinctive bouquet forming. Quite nice.
