Munki's 2 x 4 Bubba Kush ScrOG Bondage

one way to make the stem more pliableis to massage the stem to where the cambium layer is nice and soft then it should be alot more workable. Popping that stem is a form of supercropping, but when incorperated into LST'n it is very effective. Just something for you to toke on.

I'll do that when I train. The side branches aren't that vigorous. Probably cause it has dedicated its energy into the middle of the plant. I swear it is about to swell out. Next growth spurt gets topped. I don't think I'll have any other choice.

Yea, those FAT leaves pouring over look cool. Your plants look super healthy!

Thanks. I really like the principle of ebb n flow for simplicity.

Girls look really healthy. Are you going to lst? And if not how many bud site can you expect with those fat umbrellas shading the underbrush?

Well done, love those pots. When you turn off the pump, do the pots automatically drain?

The net is my primary LST method though I might employ some bucket tie downs. The side branches just haven't been vigorous growers. They just seem to keep dividing. She is a wild beast and I hesitate to attempt drastic measures. I'm tempted to see how it would just grow out. But if I do top, I gotta figure side shoots will explode considering the new light and root attention. WheeloFortune has me thinking now. I have no idea on what she will ultimately produce. Heck, 90 percent of the plant material that currently exists could get trimmed out if I do fully fill out the screen.
Buckets, yep, they drain by siphon action. Design inspired from a CannaStats tron2hydro design. Buckets need to be elevated and cannot be daisy chained, but otherwise they are virtually leakproof and extremely resistant to catastrophic fluid loss. Huge plus to many individual growers for sure.

Thanks Joe. Here is how they look as we bring week 5 to a close. Note I re-fed the large fan leaves back into the netting. Leaves are getting 8 1/2 inches long and the canopy can already reach across the 2 foot span of the ScrOG. The little one which I decided to call Lil Bitty, is coming along nicely but hasn't reached the screen yet. She is pictured at the end of the post. Note how I am trying to bend the top of Big Bertha to the sides.

....Yea I know, I feel like a cheerleader on the sideline. But this is sooooo cool to see everybodys gardens. Soon I will be in the game with my own grow. I cant believe how nice those girls look!

I just thought of something. Lil Bitty being smaller is farther away from the light so she gets less growing energy. I need to get some phone books or something to put underneath Bitty's bucket to get her up to the screen until she grows a bit more.

Good thinking batman!! do you know were the yellow pages are?

Just threw them out unfortunately. I saw some elsewhere that I can get tomorrow.

And so it begins.......... JK. I love how plants grow outward when they meet a vertical barrier.

If left to their own devices, I think it would have lifted the whole screen up! I did a lot of manual forcing to get it to part like that. I was afraid to let the top grow a few inches above the screen as I may not have been able to get it back under given the stockiness. If I damage the top section too much, I can just cut it off by topping the plant.

looks like you managed to get her going "the right way"... as far as the supersaturating goes, try 30 min right before you try to flex her body... this should help relieve some of the stress on you that is incorporated during these tedious actions...
good luck with her Munki:smokin2:

OK. I'll keep that in mind if I bend her in a drastic HST way. Appreciate the suggestion.

I'm curious - if Bertha was allowed to wilt, reducing the intracellular pressure, wouldn't she be easier to bend?

Only reason I ask if that I've trained some plants unintentionally that way... ;)

I think for just bending the stalks, you are right. But if trying to make the bend be more permanent like in HST, filling the cells full of fluid then applying the rubbing pressure would pop them making that point much easier to bend and then stay while the cellular tissue is repaired. Just a guess but it seems to make sense.
