Free lumber? I'd jump all over that, but studs are relatively cheap so I'll survive that loss. BTW, I started using that Hydroguard in my res @ 2ml/gal. Me hopes to keep the Benny Beat Down in full effect every day and the Benny Bazooka Blast once a week with the tea.
All plants are looking great! So much so that I'm very eager to get 1 out of there ASAP and into flower b/c there's no longer enough room for the 4 on the flood table. The flower rooms aren't coming along as quickly as I'd hoped, but I still think I can finish enough tomorrow to conceal the light and hopefully heat the joint some. Once a room is complete (if before 6PM) I will put my best plant into flower which happens to be the most sativa showing one. For the most part, all 4 canopies are better than 2' in diameter and almost that tall. The silica really has most branches very pliable and somewhat flimsy, but they are still pretty thick so I'm not concerned at all. I want to get my ??Power Flower good and stretched out which should be easy, then I will tie down the main branches that will carry the most weight. This should make for the best position when dropping a scrog net down.
Here's some pics; The main wall will be 20' in length and 5' off the house wall. This 20' will get divided into 2 section right at the 10' mark. Each side loses a few inches due to wall thickness, but the 5' width will always be true. I laid down some studs to give a better idea of what the end will consist of.
This is my 5' level that I constructed out of 5 linear feet of 2x3 (a 4' piece with a 1' piece scabbed on) and a torpedo level that came free with my TV wall mount. I used this to locate on the angled part of the ceiling where 5' off the house wall is located? You have to out smart old buildings sometimes!
Due to the angle of the stud screwed to the ceiling, my 5' line had to be transposed with that handy torpedo level (w/o the 5' stud) by crossing the tangency (
drafting term) and holding the torpedo so it was perfectly perpendicular to the earth. This then showed me where I needed to terminate my vertical studs so my wall still hold to 5'.
Building something in a tight time table while cruising around in outer space is not the best of ideas. With that said, after I was half through building the wall, I realized that I mistakenly pinned my back wall right to the house wall which would have taken needed walk space to access the opposing flower room door, so I had to unscrew everything (this is why I don't use nails) and correct the mistake. Low and behold, all of the studs (on every other
rafter) all of a sudden landed right at 2' intervals which will make the rest of the build SOOOO much easier as I have solid surfaces to attach my wall to, not to mention I can break my vertical wall studs onto the joining of one floor stud (and ceiling studs) and screw them together via the vertical. Now when screwing the white hard board to the wall, I won't have to cut much as all boards will terminate right in the middle of my studs.
So even though I have a ways to go yet, I am confident I can enclose it by 6pm tomorrow evening and get a girl into the dark for 6 hours (shortening her last veg day to 12 on). I need to do this b/c I need to burn the HPS at night time for the first 2 weeks of flower, then later add in another day time HPS with another plant in the opposing room. I figure sending in a large plant 2 weeks apart will start me off with a nice yield that should only get bigger with repeating harvests. After all 4 are loaded into flower, hopefully 2 weeks later I can have a harvest, but it is possible that b/c I am starting with a sativa dom, I might end up skipping that first window and harvesting 2 an additional 2 weeks later, but we'll see. I need AG to calculate predicted harvest times as he's grown both strains at least once, but I suspect multiple times.
