I think theres is a difference between making a chemically induced male or stress induced male
chemicals force male flowers
stress brings out the hermie gene which I read somewhere all the plants have them
the difference is your bringing out the natural hermie by stress might cause the seeds from the plant to hermie about the same time
I forgot where I read this but someone was mentioning it
there is a difference tho a chemically induced one shouldn't hermie the same time you chemically induce as compared to a stress hermie
which the seeds you get from it may hermie the same time as the mother that was stressed
might be good to look around for info on it before you make a stress hermie because if what I read is true youll be getting the same results as the mom off the seeds
I am not sure this is just stuff I read over time on this site when people discuss it
maybe someone who actually made hermies out of stress for pollen and actually grew out the resulting seeds can chime in

I have read the same thing Chronic....i wont be using that method at all as it didnt appeal to me and just seemed more of a pain.....i am gonna stick with the cs spray.....i mean if you can do it .....then it must be easy enough that a caveman could even do it:rofl:lol......thank you for the additional info....i had forgot about the seeds carrying the hermie trait as the mother was stressed:)

Hey susat, finally chimed in... :)

Chronic, yep you reminded me of that stressed hermie thing.

Now, the bit I other remember is this guy was talking about a non-stressed...take a hermie, like one that has grown from or seeds from a hermie, grow a hermie pollinate with the hermie pollen on a mother in flower...all female seeds....don't quote me...disclaimer warning!

Yes, I wouldn't stress induce either! :)

I had a flux that hermied & pollinated my tent. I'd say the stress of the flux made it hermie, I ran a couple of seeds & the hermied as soon as they showed sex.

You know DK....that was just recent it seems that i read that....i cant remember who's journal it was though......but yeah....extended flowering times past the girls prime is what he did:)

is
the natural instinct of the plant once it knows its ready to die to be able to reproduce despite not having a male to pollinate
so yes if you let it go till its ready to die itll probably throw out some sacs and have some seed but I don't think itll be like if it was actually pollinated by another plant

It doesn't make much sense to do it that way, it's a bit of a lottery & you're wasting a full plant. I think CS is a much better way :)

Good morning Welshy and Dusty:)....Mr Skunny....kizz my arse buddy:rofl:.......not being ignorant.....its photo sunday time:)lol.....i am uploading 59 pictures right now on the lap top:)lol......59!!!!!!!lol.......it is going to be a long update as i have been taking pics through the week of defols, LST, popping a seed etc.....i didnt realize how many i had:)lol...its now on pic 12....only 47 to go:)lol
