Multi-Strain - Multi-Media - LED - Grow

re: Green Dreamz - Multi-Strain - Multi-Media - Multi-LED - Grow

I am changing both my resevoirs flwr/veg..........now i have posted in other journals how i only use 1/2 strength on all the nutes i have and do use, but i have seen where other people are running full strength.......so my bad experience combined with reading a couple of journals suggesting half strength when using leds......well i am curious if it was me and my noobness at the time so i am trying full strength with fox farms and bushdoctor.......with as much as i am with the girls during the light hours that i should notice any problems right away and will adjust as necessary:)..........oh by the way the bad experience was with organic nutes and soil......if i am correct it was a pineapple chunk 3 weeks out from flowering and i burned the entire plant.....at least all the leaves turned brown , dried up.....bud production completely stopped.......i flushed with water but didnt know how much so i dont think i used enough to flush her out so ended up harvesting way early.......the thing was is she went downhill within a couple of days.......only thing i could figure was to many nutes....oh well.....i knoww just a little bit more now....so we will see:).....if they get done before lights out i will shoot some pics....if not.....tomorrow is another day:)

re: Green Dreamz - Multi-Strain - Multi-Media - Multi-LED - Grow

With my experience & soil I find less is more. I used to feed fresh water every 3 feeds & full nutes the other two weeks but that was under HPS. With LED the nute range I use suggests 3-5ml/L & I use 2-3ml/L every feed but that's in coco.
My advice is feed them little & only when they need it until you find the right level & routine. It's easier & quicker to identify & fix a deficiency on low nutes than get a lock out & have to lush & fix it :)

re: Green Dreamz - Multi-Strain - Multi-Media - Multi-LED - Grow

Yeah these are two completely different ball games man.
You should be fine with feeding your girls at full strength, mine are much smaller than yours and are doing fine with it!
(i do understand its different mediums at nute line ups, but your girls are large and healthy, they will benefit from full strength feeding)
That coupled with the introduction of silica into the res, will also help buffer against user related errors!
*by full strength, I was implying that you already have a tried and tested ratio based on others or personal account. Like I use the lucas formula.

Well brother.....the flower room recieved thier new full strength nutes right before lights out...lol....so we will see how they look in the morning, but thank you for the advice:)

I did remember the silica Jinn:)....thanks bro:)

I use about 50-60% reccomended nutes (Vitalink Max) in hydro under LED, but i also substitute with Potassium Silicate and CalMag.

Haven't had any issues so far (touch wood) :)

Hey Doozy....well we will see tomorrow but i hoope they are good;).....never heard of Vitalink Max:)

I think so.....amazingly enough i am calm....under normal circumstance i would be worrying about them until lights on....but i feel pretty confident it will be fine and if not i am confident that with the support of you guys i can fix it:):)

What's up friends....

Green....

It's too late for me to chime in but your still good. However, since it's your first time trying these nutrients I would have...and still do....gone a little lighter in the nutrients. Like Skunny said it's easier to come back from a little burn then to have to flush the whole res.

I run about 80% in a 6 gallon res. I went full only once and tips burned within a day. Dumped the whole solution and went back to 80 and new growth was fine. I change out every two weeks rather than weekly but put back nutrients as is needed. Based on her feeding. Mid week and weekend mid change out cycle. Normally 1-2 gallons depending on her.

Next round I'm changing to AN's PH balanced nutrients so it will be another learning curve and will probably go 80% again till I get use to the new nutes.

Just my two cents....

And I saw mention of cal/mag...this is a must under LED!

re: Green Dreamz - Multi-Strain - Multi-Media - Multi-LED - Grow

I know I'm in coco but the technique I used to get to know my nutes can be mirrored by you with hydro.
My base nutes recommend 3-5ml/L so I started feeding at 3ml/L & monitored health/growth. Next feed I pushed up to 4ml/L & monitored again, next feed I went to 5ml/L & saw tip burn the following day. I'd found the limit I could push the nutes to but I'd also noted that there was no difference in health/growth with the 3 & 4ml/L feeds so I tried a run at 2ml/L & they were fine. I repeated this feed again & the colour started change, indicating they were hungry. I fed at 3ml/L & they returned to lush green again, I now know that 3ml/L of my base nutes is the perfect strength for veg. I also used this strength with the bloom nutes as a base setting & it's worth noting that different strains have different requirements & tolerances to nutes when in flower, so it's another learning curve when you flip.
I also add cal mag+ at a rate of 1.25ml/L with my nutrient range :)

I have used fox farms on my last flower...well the last 3 or 4 weeks of flower, but at 1/2 strength......this morning they look fine.....no tip burn so i will keep my eyes peeled.....i am going to take pics here in a little while so you guys can tell me if you see anything adverse:)
the aerogarden 3 that i had got i gave to the wife as the resevoir is only about 3 inches deep and the plug sits 3/4s of the way into the water i had problems with the roots not growing...so they had a kick ass sell for thanksgiving and i picked up one of thier aero 6......resevoir is deep like the aero 7 so i hope it works better as i really like germing in it:)...if not the wife will have another to play with:)lol

yeah....i should have gone 3/4 strength but that is just how my mind works....i get something in my head and next thing i know its done:)lol.....either way like i said.....right now the critical jack and northern lights seem to be handling full strength ok.......right now that is :)lol

lovely setup, plants, and pictures. any reason the auto isn't bigger?

re: Green Dreamz - Multi-Strain - Multi-Media - Multi-LED - Grow

Yeah B..... it was supposed to be a photo...it wwas a freebie:)........i was kind of rough on her when she was a seedling......had clipped all the lower branches and the next day or so pistils started showing.....so all i can figure is from trimming her and not being very nice is why she is stunted.....almost scrapped her but i am glad i didnt.....there is a little bud on there:)

re: Green Dreamz - Multi-Strain - Multi-Media - Multi-LED - Grow

trimming will do that. she looks like she'll give you 10+ grams. I'm glad you kept her around :)

re: Green Dreamz - Multi-Strain - Multi-Media - Multi-LED - Grow

Me too brother....especially being that is another strain i haven;t smoked before....so i am excited to try her.....:)....a couple more weeks i think.....i will have to go back in my journal to see when she started for sure:)lol
