Mr Teddy's Greek Indoor Grow - Indicas - Soil - LEDs

Happy Birthday Mrs Teddy...and I wish you many more.:love::love::love:

And Mr. Teddy.....If you every get to visit my little town "Kailua".......KaaaaLoooooAhhh! You can stop by and have a Teddy Burger. No joke. Teddy Burger's is a very popular place! :yahoo:

Mrs Teddy: :thanks::hug::hug::hug:

Mr Teddy: Well a chap has to make a living.

Mr Teddy id like to ask you something about your led panel if you don't mind

i'm thinking about upgrading to platinum led myself, but im sure you know, its nearly impossible to get it here without importing it.

so my question is, how did you get yours?

did you import it ? and if you did was it from Europe or USA?

my main concern about importing such a thing is the customs, did they charge you extra money or something?

cause the led panel is expensive enough as it is, if the custom is charging extra fees for it i dont think im gonna afford all that

*edit: i talked to a guy at platinum led and he said that our customs are tough and they had problems in the past, he also confirmed that ill have to pay to import it so i guess thats a no for me :(

:ciao: 420brother. How's things south down there with you? After a couple of beautiful Kingfisher weeks of weather, we've got lots of snow forecast for tomorrow. Have to show those New Yorkers how real men cope, eh? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Getting the Platinum LEDs was a bit of a saga. (But well worth it finally). Mark, the owner of Platinum, was brilliant but even he could not side-step Greek bureaucracy. You know obviously that Democrates invented democracy. I think there was an ancient Greek called Bureaucrates who invented paperwork.

I got them from the USA, (there's no European distribution point), but as you probably know goods from outside the EU attract heavy taxes here (except books). Mark marked down the paid price on the paperwork to $61 to reduce import taxes. It was impossible in this opaque Attic system to discover beforehand what I was in for.

It took much to-ing and fro-ing of emails and phone calls between me, Mark and DHL Athens to get them out of customs. I had to declare what they were ("Domestic Lighting") and then Athens customs claimed (wrongly) that there was no EU lighting certification on the box (there is) and that they were not allowed to open it. Mark, unasked for by me, actually telephoned Athens to confirm it, but we still needed to get scanned paperwork sent over. I also had to give DHL limited power of attorney to act for me - passport number, tax number...you know the deal over here. Greece is Greece. It didn't help that I had 3 people at DHL to deal with and co-ordinate - two in Athens and one in Thessoloniki.

Ultimately Athens customs charged me 90euros for storage - even though it was their bureaucracy that held it up. And DHL charged me I think 30euros for their precious time. By that stage I had no choice. And obviously I didn't want to make a huge deal of it with the authorities. :bitingnails:

The whole saga took a couple of weeks.

But I look at my girls under them now and all that is forgotten. :laughtwo: The lights are marvellous.

Do feel free to PM me if you need any more info.
:circle-of-love:

EDIT: I know that many LEDs come from China, which also would cause similar problems. I did discover that the goods which attract the very highest import tax in Greece are.....Chinese bicycles! What's all that about?

Wow Mr Teddy... You said it was a hassle to get things imported to Greece, but that.... that is insanity!

If you don't mind me asking, any idea why customs is so "thorough" in Greece? And what are the fines like around where you live for growing or possessing such a harmless pretty plant?

Thanks in advance Mr. Teddy!

:Namaste:

:ciao: Mr Teddy, everything is alright here, had some tragedies today but i think it's going to be ok.

:thanks: for letting me know, and holy shit. ill have to agree with Max, that is INSANE. what the hell? this country is going down the drain, so basicly even after the little trick you did with Mark they still charged you something around 1/3 of the screen's price, probably illegally too cause they knew that you wouldnt involve the authorities for an item like that.

honestly after hearing your story i'm not sure i wanna upgrade anymore :yikes:
sounds like A LOT of trouble to go through and i dont feel like doing that just now

that bike fact tho, haha :grinjoint:

Hey Teddy! That's funny that you say the lights came from the U.S. When the PlatinumLED I ordered came in, IT WAS FROM CHINA! The ladies are loving it too. So much better than the CFLs I was using but it comes at a risk. I kinda cooked a few fan leaves on my Pineapple Express because I didn't have the lights high enough.

Everything is like that here, Max. Want to pay your phone bill online or even, God forbid, on the phone? Nope. Take an 80 mile round trip and stand in line for an hour or two. Lekky and tax the same. Oh, and when you get to the front of the queue, please don't try paying with a credit or debit card. Cash is king. And everyone takes a cut.

Funnily enough, I haven't asked many people what the penalties for being a 420 gardener are here. I do know - because he posted on my outdoor journal - that many years ago OMM got a year's very, very hard time in Athens for possession of I think it was a quarter. Things definitely will not have changed.

Everything has a price, Max. And that is the cost of living in Eden.

Yours, keeping his head down, Mr Teddy. :circle-of-love:

Hey 420brother, really sorry to hear you've had a bad day. Happy thoughts coming your way. :circle-of-love:

I'm sure you could source an upgrade from the UK. It's where we order almost everything from- medicines for Mrs T you can't get here from our friendly doctor, premium skin care (again, not for me :cheesygrinsmiley: although I'm the one who needs it), fabrics and machine parts for Mrs T's quilting - and we've never had any problem. I got my tent, fan, ducting etc from France with no issues. Except of course they were delivered to the village bakery. "Theo tiropeta kai ena grow-tent, parakalor". I think I read here that Mars have a UK warehouse now and I bet they're not the only ones.

Hoping that tomorrow is a brighter day for you. :circle-of-love:

Y'know, now you say that, Jade, I didn't actually check...I just assumed they were from the States. Don't Platinum claim "Proud to be a USA company" or something? Guess that doesn't mean they have to be made there. :;): I do know that when we made the mistake of getting some beautiful fabric for Mrs Teddy from the US it cost more than double the value in import tax. Won't be doing that again.

Having read around here a lot, for the P450s I have 15-18 inches seems to be the sweet spot. There's no doubting though that they are good, eh? :jawdropper: (Do I get a 420 sticker for first random use of new smiley?) They've certainly made me look like I know what I'm doing.

Thank you for the positive energy Mr. Teddy and the valuable information of course :circle-of-love:

I should get ahold of the issue and do my research on companies, that will help me get a clear picture of LED panels in Europe and how can i get my hands on some sweet ones.

Something unexpected happened today that changed my everyday activities, i had to rush to the hospital to treat my mother from the stroke she had this morning. It was quite graphic honestly as it was the first one that i've witnessed and all the eye-back turning and the mouth foaming got me a little on edge but im happy to report that she has stabilized and doctors say that it's looking better from now on. She is very old so i guess it was kinda hard on her.

I really want to make some Rick Simpson's Oil for her and feed her indocannabinoid system for a cycle to see if there is visible improvement. I know it's mostly used to treat cancerous cells but we've seen miracles from CBD/CBN medicines and a good cannabinoid feed always helps to regulate our system.

That's my main concern right now about finishing this crop, i'd flip them early but them girls are already flipped and im just counting down weeks.

Maybe next crop i'll try some high CBD exclusively medical strain with the lowest THC possible, something like Charlotte's Web if you've watched Sanjay Gupta's documentary about the miraculous healing of cannabis.

Anyway i usually don't share my personal stuff in places or with people if that matter, but again im a very close person and rarely let other people see my true self. Speaking here somehow feels easier and i know most people can relate.

The reason i did share all that is cause i wanted some opinion on the Oil, Should i give it a go? i think i should but honestly im concerned on how she'll react on the THC, she is in her 70's after all. I don't think she ever got high before (not that i know of) and what im cultivating right now is pretty potent. Should i wait for next batch and cultivate a medical strain just to be safe?

Life is hard somedays i guess but i'm a big dreamer so watch me come up with something.

peace fellas :thanks:

How To Make Concentrated Cannabis Oil

This is 420 motoco thread... Any questions, he'll know and be able to answer... From making it to correct dosage to how to take it... Best of luck 420brother...

So sorry to hear about your mother, 420brother. How awful for her and distressing for you. I'm grateful that you felt you could share your concern here. This journal is always open. Teddy house sympathies and old fashioned prayers are with you both.

Now I know nothing about oil but I see old Grizz has already chimed in. Thanks mate.

I think Cronic and OMM have a sack of knowledge about medical cannabis too - and anyone is welcome to support 420brother here with further relevant advice.

Peace be with you and your mum, 420brother. :circle-of-love:

they like the high thc oil for cancer
cbd's help other people like with epilepsy and such
also from what I understand as the plant ages you get more thc the younger budding plants have more cbd until they mature
and hemp plants are high in cbd the ones used for rope and such not the ones people love to smoke

Your right Teddy! :high-five: PlatinumLED does say they are a proud USA company, but my invoice and shipping label were from China. I was very confused. My Pineapple Express must of had a growth spurt while I was visiting my sister and got in the 12" range. I don't think it damaged the buds any but the leaves have crispy spots. She has bounced back luckily. :passitleft:

a lot of led companies have it manufactured in china cause its cheaper
sucks in a way tho if it were made in the usa all the money would stay in the usa

Thanks for all the love and support peeps, and for the valuable information aswell. I looked into them all and i know much better know.:circle-of-love: Reporting back from the hospital today everything seems fine, it was a mild one and she should be home in a couple of days.

On the LED discussion, what i read from doc buds new pladinum led grow is that the only panel that would replace the 1000w is something from p900 and above. Now that he is using the p1200 he said that its stronger and better than a 1000w in any way. besides having ones of these 2 panels, is really any other one that can replace the 1000 hps and still perform at a same strength and PAR levels? (not counting the electricity)

Our house is built into the mountainside so whilst there are three stories at the front there are only two visible at the back. I was working in the back garden today with the chapel behind me and I was suddenly hit by the rich, deep aroma of cannabis from the chimney. Good thing we've no close neighbours. Time for a watering.

UPDATE. FLOWERING DAY 36.

Sorry, Playmates - all the photos are under flash because it was dark by the time I got to water. The good news is that it shows up those pretty sparkly things that they keep growing on their leaves.

Mazar and MasterKush are showing a bit of magnesium deficiency. What is it with LEDs and magnesium deficiency? Radogast had a great theory over at Soil Girl's place, which he then immediately proved wrong. So I crushed up some magnesium crystals and added them to the top watering.

Getting heavy. Somebody needs staking. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Just a few weeks now...tick tock tick tock tick tock.

I've not got a lot of growing advice for anyone, so I shall leave you with a piece of advice I used to give to my marketing classes. Before you judge anyone, walk a mile in their shoes. Then, if you don't like them, you're a mile away. And.....you've got their shoes. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Peace be with you, Playmates. :ciao:

Pip Pip! Mr Teddy x

Lordy, Radogast, you've only gone and cracked it. :bravo:

Is there a :420: equivalent of the Nobel Prize? See you in Stockholm. :ciao:

:tommy: drum roll, clock is tiking for these girls :tommy:

:bravo: Mr Teddy, wonderful update as usual. By the size of them i can tell that you and Mrs Teddy will stay medicated till the time you cut the next grow, which is really what you was going for i hope :slide:

Best wishes and much love :circle-of-love:

This country needs more people like us. If everyone in Greece grew a tree i bet there wouldn't be so much hate, racism, chauvinism and pretty much all those things that rot this generation from the inside out.

i woke up from a nasty nightmare and thought i'd reply late in night while im browsing my self to sleep :ganjamon:
