Thanks guys, I can't believe she isn't dry and smokeable yet. What is taking her so long? :rofl:

In a perfect world, the pineapple express should be next, her due date, day 70 was 22 dec (the day I go on holiday) with the Northern Lights due a week later when I return BUT seeing that she is being a pain and not flowering as she should, I have a feeling that the NL will be next. :passitleft:
 
I have a dark devil at 24 days but I have a feeling she will end her days in another grow space. I have finally convinced a good friend to set up a small tent of his own. He has already created a profile on 420mag ready for a journal.

3 GALLON SMART POTS GROW BIG PLANTS AND ITS A CRAZY IDEA TO TRY 2 WITH A 1 GALLON POT IN A SPACE NO BIGGER THAN AN UNDER COUNTER FRIDGE!

cfl?? with good ventilation it's possible but why when you could do two separate fabric pots and then they don't have to fight and one side will dominate the other and grow lots bigger...

I think you got the wrong idea Spart. My space is no bigger than an under counter fridge and I have 2 x 3 gal fabric and a 1 gal shallow pot in the space. It was a note to myself to remember the lessons learned and not try it again. I grossly underestimated the difference between a 1 gal and a 3 gal pot and the size of plant they can grow.
My bud will be running a 0.5m x 0.5m tent with a Mars 400w for lights.
 
So, as we know I've had a few issues with ph that I've been working through and with the help of Fuzzy Duck I have figured out what my issue were and how to make changes going forward.
Knowing that biobizz soil should be buffered to a ph of approx 6.6, I decided to test the theory.

I tested the ph of soil belonging to my Northern Lights. First I tested it before I fed with a new soil ph tester and got a result of just below 6.

I then mixed and fed as normal but without any ph checks or adjustments to the nutrient solution, which I know has a ph value of approximately 5.7 before adjustments.

After feeding i checked the ph of soil again and got a reading of just above 5.5

After 24 hours I checked again as was pleasantly suprised to see my soil ph up at 6.5 and no issues with the plant (it was at this point with the Pe that my issues started)

Now my issues were arriving the day after feeding with high soil ph locking out the micro nutrients. If I had used ph up to correct my nutrient solution I believe that it was sitting in the soil causing the ph to rise above the levels needed for micro nutrient uptake. I have now decided to retire my ph pen and rely on the soil doing my adjustments for me.

I hope this helps somebody else at some point

mate as I said before biobizz light mix.is pure heaven for ur plants.i don't own no ph meter or pens or up and down.never tested for ph.ur welcome to see how healthy my plants are at day 32 at the mo page 40 to 43 most recent pics and my work ;). ur on the right track mate u just need the lightmix and u will see everything start to run perfectly for u.i can not stress enough how good this medium is.my plants 32 days old.i gave no feed at all until day 24 and only just had second feed today.so the soil speaks for itself really when u see the health of my plants.hope this helps amazing mate and keep up the top work well done.and happy growing every1;):thumb::goodjob:

I do follow your journal and I see how good your plants are, I will be making the switch to light mix from the all mix when I run out of the bag I already have. I won't be planting anything new for a while yet, prob be well after Xmas now.
 
didn't kno u was following mate havnt seen much of ya;) I just want u to get the light mix mate will be happy growing from then on for u mate.hate to see any gardner having issues.great work as I said mate for bringing this subject up and documenting ur work.im sure this will help people of the 420 community.top job lad;)
