Mother of Berries, M.O.B. Maine Strain

Na not all of them. Dont know if I can say what the company is cos I heard you cant mention non sponsors but its a reasonably cheap model compared to other digi ballasts

PM me. I have found that you can’t name non sponsors publicly but privately it’s not an issue. I’ve done it many times and had 0 issues on a thread is a different story.

Am I better off with an air cooled hood or simple reflector? I thought I might exhaust hot air out the window and cool tent via AC. Any other ideas I’m all ears

I was doing some comparisons and I’m pretty sure my first CFL “Mother of Berries” grow was better than this one with stupid Chinese LEDs. If you go to around the same time period to the first grow to this one. Buds are taller and to some degree meatier. Maybe it’s just me? (At least the non-cola buds)

In moving forward with a real light and mixing spectrums with LED and a 600W do I need to get a different LED for this or if I kept blurple to mix would I just be better off with the 1k? Also, with a good light I would theorize I don’t necessarily need to veg as long because my flowers would be bigger?

I was reading that the 600 is more efficient but the 1000W offers better penetration but also generates a ton of heat (I’ve read it described as hotter than the hottest summer day) I’ll probably stick out a 600. I did find a 600W hortilux bulb and I bring them up a lot because they are reported as the best. I have to ask is the switch THAT beneficial or is there no major change? (Many of the forums praise it to holy hell) I’m definitely going air cooled

I would think that you should. If I were you I would buy the set up I sent you so you have MH and HPS bulbs and run it for a round. If you arent happy you can then spend the money on a better bulb. That is how I would do it anyways. A good bulb is like 2/3s the cost of that whole set up and IMO it would be good to get a baseline for the set up before you invest in the better bulb. That is just me though.

Yeti, I don't mean to be a pain in the ass but is there a way of amplifying the light or modifying a tent to such an extent that I can mimic 1k penetration? I was thinking about maybe getting a sheet or even buying a cheap $45 tent to cut up and make a second floor that sits over the pots covering the area like a false floor with holes cut in it to accommodate the plants so the light is more greatly confined thus less waste or at least more efficiency (I think). Is it possible in anyway to use any form of the lights I have or will be getting be able to power solar powered LED groundstakes? The lighting that is used in example to light a walk way. I had thought it might be interesting or at at least possible to power them with the lights I have as it will be a relatively broad spectrum there could be some hope. Now, I had another unconventional idea (I think) and while I know the light amount of it may be insignificant compared to it's overhead counterparts but I propose delicately wrapping a plant with set of the brightest possible Christmas lights (super bright plasma LED s) you can find to weave around the stalk and possible stems (I said possibly based on the even more delicate nature of the stems). An unvetted example (non infringing) link is below. I've been thinking about what you said Yeti about more light being good light and I thought what could I possibly do to enhance what I'm already planning on and thought this might be possible. I was stuck on possible heat concerns but with proper ventilation and air flow it should be a non issue.

I have a hard time Judging with Blurple pics. She looks healthy and frosty. You have a little bit of tip burn going on but overall she looks healthy as far as I can tell. I do hope she bulks up a bit for you but I think she will give you some good smoke.

Now a lot of your ideas are pretty out of the box. I am a fairly logical person that isnt super imaginative so some times it is hard for me to picture. I would not go out of my way to spend money on most of these but that is just me. If you have any of the solar power LEDs it would be an interesting experiment. Spectrum is a big thinig though and I would want to make sure you are in range. If you want to try a DIY way to get the most light possible I would suggest building a LED board light. i think I posted pics of mine in here earlier. They are honestly the best lights I have used. I spent between $800 and $900 to build them. That was for 4 panels. You could possibly get away with two of them and 3 would be more than enough. I cover my 4x8 with the 4 of them. Or you could get a couple of 315 watt CMHs. A double ended 630 watt CMH would be even better than the 600 watt hps but I am unsure how much more coverage you would get and you would probably still need supplemental lighting then.
