Mota's First Indoor Grow - White Widow, Northen Lights & Big Blue

oh shit then its probably the opposite. Make a half strength solution of the Canna Terra Vega which is nitrogen and water with that every other time you water.

Yeah. If they are getting to light green and your thinking yellow, unless youre not getting enough light, which i sincerely doubt with your bathroom fixtures, its most likely a nitrogen defi.. Mild nutes for the babies...

I just gave them 3ml/l of Rhizotonic. It says that it has a calming effect on plants, and is ideally suited for use when repotting plants. They got transplanted yesterday, so hopefully this stuff will give them the necessary needs to show me some love. On Friday I might give them some Rhizo and Terra Vega in a very very small quantity. But I want the root ball to properly form in the new pots before I start to boost the vegetation cycle.

I will set the lights to 20/4 and I will give them some seaweed about an hour before the lights go off.

I had a busy day. I figured I need to get the hot air out of the closet somehow. So I went along with Urdedpal's thread : A Cheap Solution To Ventilation In A Closet

I'm happy to report that it's working great.

Here are the essentials

And here is a pic of the vegetation closet

If case you were wondering what those black squares are on the walls, they are velcro pieces. I bought a black shower curtain and I taped the top part on the wall and put velcro pieces on each side. All I have to do now I roll it up or roll it down.. No light goes in, no light comes out. They are starting 20/4 tonight, so it was important for me to get this done today.

I also started getting the flowering room ready. I put and old dresser without the drawers in the closet. It is only there temporarly until the plants get tall enough.

The plants are starting to get green again.. I think..! But the initial lighter spots I pointed out yesterday are becomming yellower and drying up by the minute.. Very awkward.

I will make a half dose of seaweed tonic soon and spray it on them before the lights go out.

That's it for now!

Indeed. Im diggin the exhaust setup. Easy to connect a home-made carbon filter to!

HH, please enlighten me on this. When the flowering starts, I will need odor control.. Carbon filters are good, I just have no clue how to make one.

The lights turned off 12 minutes ago and about half an hour ago, I sprayed them with a nice little mild dose of seaweed tonic. Now they are asleep in a pitch black fortress for the next 4 hours.

Hmmm... Lemme look... K. I found this a while ago while browsing the Cabinet and closet growing. I based my filter around this plan, which starts on page 4 of his journal.Stratlogic's Cab. He goes into a fair amount of detail. You should be able to fit the one he has made to your plants and if not, the logic is fairly simple and canbe modeled around what youre looking for. goodluck duder.

My first grow was in a closet very similar in size to yours. Thanks for the props earlier. I agree with moose, this journal had a very good start with lots of info about the grow.

Urdedpal, I am flattered that you seem to have taken interest in my grow. You definitely seem to know what you are talking about when it comes to marijuana grow-ops, and I hope that you will be able to give me your input when the time comes..! :smoke2:

Here is a quick update. The plants seemed to of loved their low does Rhizo 2 days ago, the beautiful shade of green is slowly comming back and those initial spots earlier have turned yellow and are dried up. They haven't multiplied, that's a good thing, right..! The stems seem to be getting fatter and stonger too. I will give them an other dose of Rhizo later today and then the next feeding will be on Monday. I think this might also have to do with their new lighting sched : 20/4.

As for the seeds that sprouted last time. None came through. I germinated 4 other seeds using Matanuska Valley's method he explained in this thread in posts #62 and #67 : Matanuska Valley's Grow Journal The difference was that this time around I soaked them in water for 24 hours and I did also put a very very small dose, like 1/4 of Rhizo right in the water. The hydroshop salesman mentionned this trick. Once they were in humid paper towels, 12 hours later they cracked and 24 hours later the sprouts were about 1/2 an inch long! I tranfered them into the soil last night and gave them a very very mild solution of Rhizo, about 1/5 of the recommended dose and not even 12 hours later they have emerged. I'm stoked.

I am happy to say that they exhaust sytem works great. The heat wave is slowly passing by, temps are back to normal and with this ventilation system, I am able to cool the room by about 2 to 3 degrees in less then 5 minutes.

Right now things are rocking. :tommy:

I wouldn't plan your feeding/waterings. You should let the plants tell you when they need water. By this I mean once you see the first 2 inches or so of topsoil is totally dry, then you can water. Sometimes it takes 5 days to dry up and sometimes it takes 2 days, it just depends of the strain, temps, and type of soil you use. By using this method you allow the roots to search for water more which means what? More root growth! This method also prevents root rot and overfeeding. Some days your girls will drink up and dry out fast, other days they won't.

My friend, who is a biology student, came over last night and pointed out something interesting to me.. Well here is what happened, I was using the syringes wrong, and not mesuring the right way..! Let me explain, I'm no junky (!) and I've never held or used one of these things before in my life, so he kindly showed me how to mesure quantities properly. I have been using the two smaller syringes, that are 1/2 ml. I thought it was graded in 1/2, so if I had to give 5ml, I would suck up the nutrient to the 10ml line right? Wrong, the whole syringe equals one half ml..! So this means, when I gave my plants a half dose of Rhizo the other day, I really just ended up giving them like a tenth of a dose..! I found this quite funny. But every thing turned out well. They had been transplanted into bigger pots and this very VERY mild dose of nutrients maybe helped them settle in their new homes. This also very mild dose worked well enough for the seeds to crack and sprout rapidly. So in the end, I'm quite happy with the results of my little calculation mistake. :laughtwo:
