Morglie's Perpetual: New Space & New Strains

Cool, I understand. Sometimes I get a little burned out on the lemon strains, but if I give it a break, they seem refreshing when I come back.
I hear ya. I had a ton of lemony stains for a while and it got old, but I'm craving that flavor again now.

Personally I prefer something along with the citrus, like fuel underneath. Or grape and fuel..... Yum!

I love my headband og, fuely and citrus, but is a finicky plant.

I try to avoid picky plants if I can help it. They just add on extra time tending the garden. Sometimes they can be worth it though. I'd probably look for a fuel or lemon strain that grows well and try and cross them to see what you get.

I've avoided OG stains for the most part because of the hype, but I've always heard they are picky, which hasn't encouraged me to try one.

Yeah there is a lot of hype with the OG’s. They have inefficient root systems, maybe from developing the genetics in hydro systems??? Not sure. I remember my first toke from her, I was like “THERE IT IS, THAT TASTE!!!” Fuel and citrus, and the high soars at first, then settles into a numbing relaxing body stone. Of course my first run of her was my first run with the kit, and I burned the shit out of her. It took me a few runs to get a noticeable improvement with everyone’s suggestions and the knowledge that was shared. At the time it was like a puzzle I had to unlock.

With so many seeds on deck, I don’t know if I would spend the time to mess with and learn a fickle cut, unless I detected potential greatness.

Little waterings ( inbetween regular waterings/ drenches ) along the pot edges to encourage root expansion is a must for her IMHO. I can tell in veg when she is hooked up with the soil.

I have a cut I've been running for several years that's like that. I need to top water it lightly while it slowly builds a root system. It's worth it though, to me. I love the flavor, and it's a great sativa high.

I've been pollinating it with different strains looking for a cross that has what I love about the plant. I'm getting tired of having to mess with a picky plant and want to drop it from rotation. So far I've found some promising plants.

Yep there’s only so much room in the garden. I hear that. If a new improved comes along, I look at the old standby and say “ bye bye”
I've cut down to only two cuts several times. The one is a high CBD nil THC cut that I'm not going to drop and the other is my Malawi that will probably get dropped soon with the results I'm seeing with the cross utilizing Apollo 13. I have another one that'll be taking it's place soon though. The A5 cross Ace has sounds like a definite keeper. I love the psychedelic sativas. o_O

Hi Morglie - lovely catching up on your garden as always. That Kushberry back there is beautiful! Very statuesque :yummy: where is it from?

got a nil THC Cannotonic that is orange flavored and also have grown Critical Cure that is orange flavored as well and I've not really cared for either of those. It's just not my cup of tea. Others have enjoyed them. The Tangie is definitely a lot stronger with the orange smell than those.

I’m with you on the Orange, Morglie. I have a CBD critical cure and it’s flavours have bordered on the unpleasant! Kinda like stale orange rind, or pith. Not the nice citrusy freshness you get with lemon strains. 10months curing and it’s a slightly nicer vape ;)
prefer Zam to the Africans so far, probably because of the Thai influence.

And the CBG! :high-five: :smokin2:

Sounds like a cartoon villain.
Close... Start Trek villain cyber-collective. :thumb:

I had a cured Panama like that! It started out cedar/pine, and cured to "almost rotten" orange.:rofl:

It was ... ok ... but our noses shy away from that sort of scent. Like the cat-piss ones ... um ...

I have a jar full of CC that's a year plus. I should crack it open and see if it's gotten any better. I should just add it to my trim collection, for when I make bubble hash.

The Kushberry has an excellent structure and has been very happy. It's a cross that @Van Stank made using a very vigorous ATF, which is where that structure comes from. She's a very nice growing plant.

Sometimes I feel like a pot snob, but it's nice to be able to be picky about what I smoke.

:thumb: I thought it looked and sounded like a StankGenetics creation. Some awesome work over there - I’ve been missing it for months so I’m probably hundreds of pages behind. I’ll pick it up in real-time soon I hope...

Anyway - you’re growing it beautifully too :)

Thank you.

I just found his journal a couple of weeks ago showcasing his crosses. It looks like the ATF is very dominant in the crosses. Which has me curious enough I want to check those out. I've got some Ace and Green Mountain seeds on the way and am holding off until then. I have a feeling that I'll outgrow my flower room very quickly if I don't.

Of course, that didn't stop me from soaking a Purple Dawg x Kerala seed yesterday when I was trimming the plant. It may end up a hermi, but I wanted to grow it alongside another Kerala accidental pollination. They should be interesting to compare next to a straight Kerala. I'm going to have to grow these things tiny....

:) Do it. Run 'em in 2-3 gallon pots and flip 'em at 40-50 days, and they should grow a nice straight 3-4 foot cola. Easy to manage.

I've been planning on flipping them in the 4 inch pots I use to veg in, then up canning them into 1 gallons when they start crying for space. The new Kerala I have running will go straight into a 5 gallon more than likely.

I had the Panama out today to sex them and realized they're getting bigger than I had planned. They're getting topped in the morning for clones, then thrown into flower.

So far I only have two confirmed females and I'm leaning towards male for the other four, so it's possible they aren't going to take up as much space as I was initially thinking. Probably best with the wilder sativas I have coming up next in the lineup.

Smoking on P13 pheno 2. It's the stinkiest one. Sweet fuel berry and lemon with a nose clearing ammonia on the exhale. It's got a lovely clean and clear high with very little body buzz. It still has just enough indica in it to get me to cartoon land when I smoked most of a bowl earlier.

I'm going to have to circle back to this cross after the Ace/Green Mountain seeds.

I've been eyeing those Green Mountain strains but I still haven't pulled the trigger. I went there yesterday to just get an order in and all the Green Mountain strains were sold out and the Killer A5 Haze was gone too :(. I guess it's Honduran x Panama and Red Sapphire.
I'm finally getting to the Stankberry, I planted 8 seeds directly into soil (different strains) and 7 of them came up within 72 hours but I'm still waiting for 1 of the Stankberry's. I'm hoping for ATF with blueberry terps.
I'm hoping to get your clones into the shipper cups today. I gotta check them here shortly. I'd be interested in your Apollo 13 cross at some point too.

The Purple Satellite is very interesting, as it's a cross of landrace sativas, yet I should be able to finish it outside here. That's pretty cool in my mind.

The Apollo 13 cross has turned out better than I was anticipating. It's got a great blend of flavors and a buzz that speaks to me. It's like the mother but cleaner with a touch of indica. And 7-8 weeks to flower. I should easily be able to finish it outside. I'm sure you'll find some interesting specimens. I'll get a package together shortly for you.
