Monster Profit

I grow in coco/perlite which needs to be treated as a drain to waste hydroponics system. I water daily until the agressive vegetation stage, when I switch to twice a day. Always water until you get at least 10% run off. I suggest that you water them three or four times per day for at least two days to ensure the coco is thoroughly soaked again, then switch to twice a day. The drainage from the coco will ensure your plants won't drown.
WOW so I've been doing it totally wrong for my past 4 grows ... I've been giving them like 2 litres and waiting 3 days then feed them again maybe longer or shorter depending on how dry they are ... this is the coco I use ... so are my plants a right off :confused: .. thanks for helping

That's got even more drainage with the hydroton clay balls--it's 60% clay balls. We want to water to runoff every day, twice a day at times, drain the run off, and let the plant sit where it is dry. This is as close to hydro as you can get or darn near as close so it needs lots and lots of water.

ok guys so here's the plan for next hopefully better grow

ph 6 drop it every now and again to 5.8ish

elevate my plant pots so not in run off water

water twice a day until 10% run off everytime

bin the monster turds and start again

I'd keep the monster turds, and try to finish growing them. I learn more when things go wrong and I try to fix them than when I have fair winds and a following sea.

They will recover enough to give you a decent harvest. Plants are very forgiving. You can start new seed three weeks or so before your harvest to give them a head start.

ok sorry guys got some better pictures .. do I just give up :(:(:(
@Fatlad, better pictures, and yes, while I don't see as many trichomes as would make any of us happy, you have to keep in mind that you are already 8 weeks in. No point in wasting those two months. You are close enough to the end that you might want to consider another last week or two and then cut and dry.

Best part of continuing is that you can try one or two of the suggestions to see if they work. If what you do does make an improvement you can keep it in mind for the next time a similar problem shows up.

It might be worth smoking or saving up for salve or something else that you will find useful.

Have a great day.

Excellent points, what I was trying to say in me previous msg.

Also, sometimes I have seen problems go away. I then have to think about why or what I did that made the problem solve itself. Or, sometimes I will wonder if it was a problem to begin with?

I m growing monster profit. Harvested one yesterday. She s far in flowering so try to save what you can of her instead of tossing. You will start over no matter what so try to save what you can with the good advices you were given here. Good luck

do you have a journal on it pal .. would be interested in knowing what you done to tame the beast

cheers for the advice pal .... would you water everyday even when they are in veg
I am watering twice a day in veg, 1 liter at a time, so 2 liters per plant per day (except the sprout). You tell me if they look healthy for 22 days old:

Exactly @Fatlad. I water them when I wake and an hour or so before I go to sleep. Here's a trick because you'll have a lot of runoff. Get a spare saucer and 5 gallon bucket. Take the plant you wish to water and move it to the empty saucer. Water the plant its liter and lift to drip drain when finished. Now just manually drain the saucer in the 5 gallon bucket. I bought an electric siphon to help with this but I hear they hate shallow water.

my biggest fear is over watering them .. so I just do it until run off comes through even in veg
Thats the beauty of coco @Fatlad! You can't over water it. It always holds something like 30% oxygen in it so any over watering just ends up in the runoff. I've also used a shop vac to get that run off out of there.

Always feed with a nutrient solution. I'll be using 30% of the recommended dosage of the Flora Trio for my current grow. I went to 40%, and got some nutrient burn in my last grow. Add the Dragon Force to your nutrient solution, but cut back on Bloom to 1/2 of what you currently use.
