Okay or Plan C

Here is another plan I came up with looking at it in a daze... ugh

Okay let me know your thoughts. I would put grommets at the end of the blackout plastic (where I am going to lift it) I could put a like an "S" hook thing - or something like that where I could rest the bar with the plastic and black out the inside only. I'll find some fasteners, but you get the what I am saying I hope. The plastic would lay on the ground during sun on. I can reach that bar with a stool. I would do that on all sides. Then for the top I would lift it up, hook it, and then walk it across and connect it on the other side.

? :cheer:

OMG that's your idea you are one smart Momma! And that was a 60' greenhouse 20' should be no problem. :goof::goof::headbanger::headbanger::headbanger:
Honestly us talking about boats triggered the retractable thought. Then I looked at our dump truck, and it has one too... So like maybe it could work. He didn't show it actually working soo I don't know.

That's what I thought too they should have showed them actually using it. but looking at it visually I think it could work. I think the bar that the Polly was attached to didn't run all the way across it was in two pieces. Well that's why he said you pull one end over first and it pulls the poly most of the way over. And then when you go to the other end pulls it all the way over. So I think you could do it by yourself.

Okay... gonna go get "clarity".... :nerd-with-glasses:
Someone needs to make an emoji for oil.... like it dropping on a tongue that sticks out. Or cookies.... like a cookie monster.

I only do edibles, so butter and oils is my thing :meditate:

?
Are you working alone or do you have someone to lend a hand when needed?

Me, I'm all alone on my own and as such covered both of my 20' x 30' greenhouses with plastic myself by first laying it out on the ground and taping a 30' long piece of 1" P.V.C. pipe to the edge so it wouldn't flap around in the wind & than attached two 90 degree elbows to each end of the pipe and then used a 10' long length to put in the other end of the ells so I could carefully lift it over the peak and down the other side.
I then rolled the excess plastic up around the pipe so each side was at the roof line and attached it with wood screws by drilling through the P.V.C. pipe into the 4x4 studs I used for framing my home away from home.
Now in your case of course you wouldn't have to go through all that trouble but simply do what I did and have the plastic extend all the way to the ground where you can then throw something heavy on it to keep it in place. That's how I'd go about doing things but is your choice to make obviously since you're the one who will have to do the work & possible maintenance if ever needed.:thumb:

Hope that made sense and wish you the best of luck with whatever method you choose to use. :high-five:

My hubby works. The garden is my baby. He helps when I need it, but I'm the one that has to come up with the plan. If I use pipe (metal) I'll ask him to cut it but I should be able to grasp this.

Thank you so much for your advice.

If you don't mind, what do you do for security in a Greenhouse? I was thinking of buying some hunting sensors that could trigger some sort of alarm? I have to figure that out too. I am worried. They are so beautiful and I love them... alot. Crazy part if someone actually wanted some I would give it to them. So I was just wondering how to deal with that.

Thank you again Monster!
I was thinking something like that.

For security I have not only my four camera digital recording system keeping an eye at for potential thieves 24/7 but also portable motion detectors placed strategically in each greenhouse which basically makes it impossible for someone to rip me off without my seeing it coming first or hearing it after the fact. I also have both of my greenhouses wrapped in cyclone fencing so they'd have to climb over or cut through it to get to my girls.:thumb:
It wasn't cheap but it did allow me to sleep in peace without getting up every hour on the hour to check on things. :lot-o-toke:

That's smart. I have camera's, but I want motion detectors. Maybe I'll road trip out again today and look at some. I was thinking hunting ones that way the weather wouldn't bother them? Bass Pro has them.

I am super excited next week I'm getting my gun license!! Not for security but for fun. I have a crossbow. It's a two day class for both licenses. For a riffle and to conceal. I love the concentration for targets, like a sport. I'd never go hunting, my heart would never recover:love: I guess that's normal in the States eh?

I have some fence paneling that I may put up with locks. It's about 6 ft high. hmm maybe I'll do that this weekend too. I'll be building this unit this weekend. Saturday is suppose to rain so maybe Sunday.

Thanks for your help Monster, have a great Friday!

At Costco they have solar powered motion sensor flood lights and they are quite bright I have them in my backyard meaning to try and keep the skunks away.if it was me I'd probably be trying to focus on deterrent rather than getting pictures of them. I mean when flood lights start clicking on thieves get nervous.

Just make sure that they are not super illuminating your flowering ladies in the process!

There’s always the Ripper Ridder - soak em down! :goof: :laughtwo:

Again, make sure your buds aren’t in the line of fire!

I thought that lights maybe a problem as we do get the odd wild life here. If I'm sleeping a spot light won't wake me.

I'm afraid a sprinkler here won't matter, we are soooo used to rain. Plus I won't know there's a problem.

Thinking :hmmmm:
