Metalpoet - 1st Grow - Northern Lights Auto - Soil FFOF - CFL - Indoor

Hi, Spart! I've been visiting over at your grow too! Tillie and I welcome you to our tiny grow! Checked out your grows...The Cream Caramel sounds awesome. I recently was able to sample some bud called Space Cream, so delicious, so high, so never-to-be-found-again in seed nor weed form! Bet the Cream Caramel is similar in quality! You will definitely have to let me know!

Day 40 Filling in the Flux
Watered with FF nutes at levels slightly higher than last time. Dry 11.3 lbs wet 13.6lbs. water ph 7, soil 6.5.

Good stuff! I discovered fluxing too late into my grow but I did LST them early so in a way I kind of half did because it was some pretty hard LST. We are both close to the same point in our journals so I am joining in and watching the rest of this!:high-five:

The stretch is comin! Mine streched a fucking full foot in one week, FYI. Not sure if yours will of course, just a heads up, it can be ridiculous!

Day 43 Taming the Greenery.
Quick update, mostly pics of the one and only Tillie L'Flux.
Here she is with bedhead.

Keep in mind she's fluxed low, not much height.

I know defoliating=stress and I should not do it much on an auto but....
20160707_064906.jpg

pulled these 8 fan leaves from secondary growth nodes on the "lower" parts of the stem because, well, they were impeding light and growth.

And here she is. Ummm. How to word this... Growth cones off the stems in 2 directions, right, so when a stem is horizontal, one set of new growth comes from the sides of the stem and that's fine, but every other node now goes straight up and straight down. Should I remove those up/ down shoots? Just the down? just leave it be and deal with it?
Thsnks,all. Have a great day!

The lady is is looking good! Mine are also kept very low the branches are trained on a very horizontal plane. I also had the same challenge with some new branches that were headed up and down. I simply let them do their thing. The branches headed down very quickly turned 180 degrees and started up as well. This is allowing me the maximum number of branches and also it fills the holes for excellent light utilization.

Keep it growing!

See ur pushing autos to there limits;)'good job.and wise words from dirt.wait until after stretch before u hit with bloom nutes on an auto.best of luck il be watching;)

hey metalpoet ur plant is looking very well . I guess u got rid of the gnats. I was starting to have the same issue with my nl auto . I am a little ahead of yours on the timeline. I guess our nl autos start flowering late cuz of the topping I did as well here is mine at 55 days.
yours should start showing hairs soon ;)

Hey, xave, just read you journal... Kind of jealous of your awesome setup!
Actually, every time I think I have the gnats licked, one or two show up! The trick is just letting them dry out, I think. But, of course, we all want to feed nutes and make the big and strong which makes it hard to wait for dry soil. Your NL looks good and bushy!

metalpoet,
I'm all caught up , and subbed. I've never grew autos, so very interested in time they take, and dry weight. I'm also going to school on your lsting technique . Does this work with clones??
Hi, Puffer, welcome to the home of Tillie L'Flux!
I'm new to growing weed, but it seems to me that all the training slows autos down a bit. I'm ok with it so far. As for clones, well, I think cutting and regrowing is probably already pretty stressful on a plant so I would worry that more training might induce runtism or worse--hermie! But we'll see if one of the better growers can answer that very good question.
