Medscientist's Outdoor Lab 2024

Welcome buddy!
Haha sorry, it's my retarded sense of humour. Whenever I finish a grow, I always think about all the work I have to do for the next one again
Phew! Ok Good! Aside from cleaning and putting away the Outdoor Tent, I'm Golden! I can handle 1 or 2 indoor 🪴 plants! ❤️

Haha yeah, you've got it under control bud!
It's like 6:48am here and I haven't been to sleep yet, so I'm in a bit of a silly mood aha 🤪 😜 🙃

I need to find some tweezers for a more gentle removal of nanners. I have big fingers, but I don't think I caused much damage. I found 4 more poking out the top of a couple of the tall buds. Too young to throw pollen? Not sure what the PPFD is, at 75% about 9 inches. My analysis suspects it too much?

I need to find a way to vent outside because there is a faint smell throughout the house that my wife will figure out that it is not smell from outside coming in, since they have been chopped.

That Huge Filter on full blast is Not fully scrubbing that small SideChick! Which I believe is 7 weeks old today!

"scrubbing" Used in context! Lol, first time I have seen this :)

Stoner mistake! she was 7 weeks 12/12 yesterday.

I was Curious about the rootball in my 1 gallon grow bags from the Outdoor Tent, so I peeled the bags down, they were pretty tight. There were alot of tiny roots coming thru the bag from the top all the way down. A little Turface fell off the top when tilted, but the entire contents are held together by all the roots, even when I banged 2 together, no Turface dropped out/off.

Top left is the bag turned inside out. The bag top right is the outside of the bag, and the entire root system holding All the Turface together! ❤️ As the roots dry out, I will open them up for a closer inspection.

Grow bags for the WIN! ❤️

I found a few new nanners today. I borrowed my wife's tweezers and pulled them off. Then I raised the light a couple inches. I am starting to see milky triches, but I have decided to let this one Amber up for sleepytime meds since the outside did not have a chance to fully ripen.

Thanks con! 😊

This 90° bend stuff works great! 💪

Pretty sure you have to tell her you use them in order to say "borrow" Med Sci! :p

Beautiful work! You have done well in Turface!
Thanks StoneOtter! 🙏

Yeah, like when I go in my wallet and it's Empty, and she says... Oh yeah, BTW, I borrowed some money! In this house, apparently you don't have to ask/tell until you get caught?

That's one chunky plant!
Thank you InTheShed! ☺️

If you find pollen in any of them it will serve you well to spray down the tent with water after harvest and take the light and fan outside and hit it with a compressor or a can of compressed air. Takes a minute, lasts a lifetime.™
I try to sit in the tent and spin her around everyday. I have caught them early and upon inspection, they are pollenless! The bright yellow color is very obvious as soon as they start to emerge. But I will wipe down the tent between uses.

I sprayed down my Outdoor tent and took her down, back into the box until next year. I did notice the seam pulling apart in a few spots, and some of the poles are getting rusty. She took some abuse with the windstorm this summer, but she Lives to try again! ❤️

I ended up keeping the buds on the cardboard containers in the tent for 2 days with the fans circulating the air. Then on a shelf in the garage for 5 days, and finished them off in a paper garbage bag, in the storage room with the Indoor tent and fan/filter. Got them settled at 62% humidity. The total weight was 315 grams or 11.11 Ounces! I will take pics when I can turn on the light in the storage room tomorrow! 🙃

Next year I plan on training like InTheShed did this summer, and only growing 3 plants, leaving room to maneuver. ❤️

The rootballs are still holding together real Tight! I shook them in a tote to get the Turface to fall out so I can see the entire root structure. The roots on the perimeter of the ball have dried a little and allowed the outer layer of turface to escape. The entire ball is covered with fine feeder roots!

Turface Swick for the WIN! ❤️

Congrats on the awesome harvest and also the JoTM win! I'm just now getting all caught up on journals I follow.

I have a question or two about bowl trimming. I have one and I tried it on some dried leafy buds and it got pretty close but left a lot to be desired. Do you only use it on wet trim? Also how do you clean yours? I used a spritz of isopropyl alcohol and a little wipe down but I'm not sure how great a job it did lol.

Thanks g-one-three! 😊

I use iso to de-gum it. I will also use something like a plastic credit card and scrubby if stuck on good. Then a Hot soapy scrub.

I would not use on dry trim, I think it would demolish them. When wet, they have a springy resistance to being pushed through the grates? So it usually trims well.

The Bowl trimmer gets the job done quick, but I think it loosens the bud. No loss in potency, but they lost their hardness.

I will hand trim my SideChick and I'm pretty sure they will remain solid. ❤️

Excellent summer haul! And well done getting the greenhouse all packed up for the winter before the snows bring it down.
Thanks InTheShed! 😊

Even with my limited direct Sunlight, i think i could pull more weight if i trained them more like you did.

No matter how many times you write Turface I still read it like it's a character out of Batman. :)

So the entire grow bag from top to bottom, was filled with small roots. I banged it, shook it, spun it... to get the turface to fall out. If I didn't abuse it like that, I think it would have retained the shape of the bag. I can see where the wicks ended up, and one was near the stem just under the surface.

In soil swicks, I am told you need to be concerned with overwatering when placing wicks. I am convinced that you Can't overwater a Turface Swick! ❤️
