Welcome everyone. Thank you for joining me on my very first growing experience. If I seem confused and misinformed it's probably because I am so please feel free to comment and correct me if need be. :Namaste:

Lets get started shall we? Here is a list of gear I am working with.
Lighting: 2 63w LED light panels
Tent: Secret Jardin Dark Room Pro DR60 II Grow Tent (2' x 2' x 5.25')
Fan: Active Air In-Line Fan - 4 inch 165 CFM
Filter: Phresh Filters Odor Elimination 150 CFM 4"x8"
Pots: small black generic square for the first 3-4 weeks then transferring to 3 gallon AeroBags
Soil: I wanted to start my girls on something very mild. I choose to start them on Happy Frog Potting Soil. When I transfer to the 3 gallon AeroBags I am going to put them in something a little more rich.
Water: I've decided to use generic filtered / bottled water. The tap water here is pretty bad and I figure it's better than nothing.
Nutes: Nothing so far. Undecided
Strains: Cherry Diesel and Green Thai Dragon :bongrip:

The Plan:
Stage 1, Veg (where I'm at)
I've got the girls veging on straight 24. I started on the first so today closes out week 1. I'm not going to touch them aside from watering for another 2-3 weeks. I want them to focus on root structure at this point.

Stage 2, Veg
After the first few week my girls should have gotten used to their new home and had a chance to develop roots. At this stage I am going to transfer them into much larger 3 gallon AeroBags and a richer soil for them to feed on. After a few days recovery time from transplant (as needed) they will be topped and get their first feeding. (again undecided on nutes at this time) Continue feeding every other watering for the next 3-4 weeks as needed.

Stage 3, Bloom
Kick these ladies into 12/12 and let the fun begin. Change nutes for bloom and let Flower for 4-6 weeks as needed.

(most of this is guess work on my part admittedly. Having no experience all I can really do is try stuff and hope it work. If you have feedback on my plan it would be much appreciated)

Now without further adieu, let's see these girls!
(I actually sold my DSLR to make this happen so sorry for cell phone pics)

My Cherry D are stretchers and shot up a good 2" this week. The Green Thai Dragon is a lot bushier. Still growing, just not quite as quickly upwards. Here's is a comparison shot.

I'm seeing some slight browning of the leaves. Brown tips and freckles in a few places. The soil is pretty mild and I'm not feeding them so I doubt it's nutrient burn. My shorter GTD plants don't have it so I'm thinking maybe the LEDs are burning my taller ladies? Thoughts?

Thanks for reading. Stay tuned!

Re: McMuffinFace 63w LEDx2 micro grow

Youve got a good rate of growth with those LEDs, Im keen to see how they deal with flowering.
Id be very surprised if your LEDs were burning the plant, Ive had them touching before. Your doing a good job, cutting the tips of the leaves somehow reinvigorates tham and that may be a decent enough way to combat the brown tips.
All the best, Ill stay tuned.

What's your PH at?

Re: McMuffinFace 63w LEDx2 micro grow

Honestly I have no idea. PH is still a mystery to me. I ran out of money before I got the proper equipment to test and change it so I've been using bottled water hoping it's better than tap. Do you think my brown tips are a PH issue?

Re: McMuffinFace 63w LEDx2 micro grow

Need to now pH, it is the most important measurement you can take. Pick up some test strips at the pet store if you don't have funds for a good meter.

LEDs can and will burn/bleach the shit out of your plants. Maybe not the older ones, but newer 3w chips will toast your plants--keep them off the girls.

Re: McMuffinFace 63w LEDx2 micro grow

Glad you decided to journal....a sponsor here has an offer now. Blue Planet Nutrients will give you FREE nutes (your choice of his products) for the cost of shipping and the promise to journal the results. You could email today and have nutes on the way tomorrow. Just a thought to save some money and try some out. Search for BPN on the site to see some other journals, I know 420fied ls quite satisfied so far....check out the sponsor page or google his website.

Fairplay, I havent used the 3w ones yet, too pricey for me but i can believe that they pack a punch :)

All tapwater here in the UK is drinkable and the PH is carefully regulated... perfect for plants :p (you probs didnt need to know that but its very rare that we come out on top) everyone still buys a meter, they just only use it once lol

Like people to exercise their scrolling fingers do you mr krip?

take it easy guys.

Re: McMuffinFace 63w LEDx2 micro grow

So my tallest girl shot up another half inch last night. I decided to top her ahead of schedule. I'm hoping this will bush her out a bit. Will probably top her a second time when I do the rest of the ladies.

I visited my local hydro store today for a PH test kit and up/down solution. Turns out my tap water that I thought was bad is just about at a 7 and the bottled water I though was good is at a 6. If my leaf browning is a PH issue this should eliminate it. An experienced local grower suggested that given her rate of growth she might just be hungry. If the browning continues despite dialing in on the PH then I am going to feed her ahead of schedule.

I am proud to announce that Blue Planet Nutrients is now sponsoring this grow! So big ups to them! My babies are egarly awaiting their treats. :morenutes:

Transferred to the 3 gal Areobags today. All my ladies had a nice solid root base. I think I got them just in time. I'm amazed at the growth I'm getting on nothing but dirt and water. I decided against transferring them into another soil and used straight from the bag Happy Frog. They should be nice and adjusted to their new environment by the time my BPN nutes get here for their first feeding.

My original plan is totally off the rails at this point. But this being my first grow and all it was just an estimation anyway. My girls are growing much healthier and faster than I though possible so I'm basically moving everything up a few weeks.

Re: McMuffinFace 63w LEDx2 micro grow

Thanks guys! Was starting to get a little lonely in here (i know I know, wait for bud porn). Following your grows as well. :Namaste:

Re: McMuffinFace 63w LEDx2 micro grow

Topped the second Cherry D today. Hit them all with some 3 in 1 spray deluded in water. No pests but I want to keep it that way. Also switched to distilled water.

Topped the GTD and gave them all their first feeding. Went in at about 1/4th strength. Going to see how they react and bump it up little by little.

Re: McMuffinFace 63w LEDx2 micro grow

I just realized I didn't give them 1/4th at all and went in at the recommended dose with the BPN. But it's all good. They LOVED IT! :headbanger:
Noticeable growth in about 24 hours. Looking very healthy (pics later).
I'm going to skip the nutes on next watering to be on the safe side though.
