Welcome everyone. Thank you for joining me on my very first growing experience. If I seem confused and misinformed it's probably because I am so please feel free to comment and correct me if need be.
Lets get started shall we? Here is a list of gear I am working with.
Lighting: 2 63w LED light panels
Tent: Secret Jardin Dark Room Pro DR60 II Grow Tent (2' x 2' x 5.25')
Fan: Active Air In-Line Fan - 4 inch 165 CFM
Filter: Phresh Filters Odor Elimination 150 CFM 4"x8"
Pots: small black generic square for the first 3-4 weeks then transferring to 3 gallon AeroBags
Soil: I wanted to start my girls on something very mild. I choose to start them on Happy Frog Potting Soil. When I transfer to the 3 gallon AeroBags I am going to put them in something a little more rich.
Water: I've decided to use generic filtered / bottled water. The tap water here is pretty bad and I figure it's better than nothing.
Nutes: Nothing so far. Undecided
Strains: Cherry Diesel and Green Thai Dragon
The Plan:
Stage 1, Veg (where I'm at)
I've got the girls veging on straight 24. I started on the first so today closes out week 1. I'm not going to touch them aside from watering for another 2-3 weeks. I want them to focus on root structure at this point.
Stage 2, Veg
After the first few week my girls should have gotten used to their new home and had a chance to develop roots. At this stage I am going to transfer them into much larger 3 gallon AeroBags and a richer soil for them to feed on. After a few days recovery time from transplant (as needed) they will be topped and get their first feeding. (again undecided on nutes at this time) Continue feeding every other watering for the next 3-4 weeks as needed.
Stage 3, Bloom
Kick these ladies into 12/12 and let the fun begin. Change nutes for bloom and let Flower for 4-6 weeks as needed.
(most of this is guess work on my part admittedly. Having no experience all I can really do is try stuff and hope it work. If you have feedback on my plan it would be much appreciated)
Now without further adieu, let's see these girls!
(I actually sold my DSLR to make this happen so sorry for cell phone pics)
My Cherry D are stretchers and shot up a good 2" this week. The Green Thai Dragon is a lot bushier. Still growing, just not quite as quickly upwards. Here's is a comparison shot.
I'm seeing some slight browning of the leaves. Brown tips and freckles in a few places. The soil is pretty mild and I'm not feeding them so I doubt it's nutrient burn. My shorter GTD plants don't have it so I'm thinking maybe the LEDs are burning my taller ladies? Thoughts?
Thanks for reading. Stay tuned!
