Yeah what they said:)

Yeah...what I said; you guys keep an eye on me and talk to me......I screwed up last time....and I still haven't quite put my finger on it. This is my reassurance grow.....LOL........to see if I can still get it at least close. These big pots are a trip, I started with 4 cups water...or nutrient solution...whatever, two days no water. Then, I bumped it to 6 cups, and started applying the water to the perimeter of the pot, to coax the roots out into the field. I skipped 3 days this last water/nute app. and still just vigorous growth. I always wonder if I water too often, I am positive that plants grow more quickly when the pots are on the dry side, but I try to make sure I'm giving enough for root expansion. An interesting thing I was taught in school was that roots don't grow toward water, roots grow where water IS, this is part of how I view my pots when I'm growing. Another interesting fact is that alfalfa often has a root system exceeding 20 feet.....DOWN!

Mc does it matter how deep a pot is in relation to the diameter??????????????:peace:

I don't think there is a formula Harley, but if I have my choice I want a tall pot rather than a wide shallow one. I DO know, that they throw bags of soil on the ground and grow right in them...but I would bet a nickel that the roots grow right into the ground!

looks good man
I need to practice more in soil so my moms look better lol
I have an easier time with hydro go figure
oh yea happy sativaday Mc

Good Weed to you mac, looks like your girls are doing well. I am just waiting on my ez-clone 360 misters to arrive and I'll make a pictorial on how to build a 5 gallon aeroponics for clones. Though mind you, this idea is not mine, I'm just spreading the wealth!

ill do some cutting soon and show you my bubble cloner
air water and here comes the roots in 7-10 days
saves money on buying pvc and sprayer and a water pump
I only use like a I think its a 2 gallon bucket it maybe 1 and 1/2
I only do 4 at once I don't need a whole bunch at once

LOL!!! A little late Chronich, I already bought everything! Maybe it will help someone who isn't a moron like me! I never thought of using airstones to promote sprouting roots, because I thought it was only used once roots were established. My bad. expensive bad too, though the submersible pump was only $23 usd. 390 GPH I think?

the airstones pop and the surface making a mist of oxygenated water
the ends of the cutting actually don't sit in the water but just above
although I have found even if a little of the end is in the water itll still root
I also notice newer or smaller growth roots faster:thumb:
sorry I was a little late with that although I may have mentioned it earlier in someone journal if I remember right lol
not using a water pump and only using air keep the water temp down and more oxygenated
don't get me wrong from what I see aerocloners work great
I just wanted a cheaper way that has a good percentage of success

Thanks Mc . I was thinkin 'bout converting my air pots from 5 to ten gallons by combining two of the 5 gal pots into one 10 gal pot they would be 15" tall and maybe 24" around what ya think?????????:peace:

Harley, just saw your question and I know it's one I can answer lol!!! Any more room you can give those roots to dig and/or expand "will" make the plant bigger, stronger, and healthier!

I love the upright leaf behavior and how the primary leaves are so small , I am so use to growing indicas and hybrids I forgot how neat and tidy sativas are.... <3 keep keepin bro

Sounds good Harley, give yourself some extra veg time for the plants to take advantage of all that NEW juicy dirt!

Good Weed friends and thank you for your positive comments! I appreciate all of you and the info you share on my journal! Everything is good, someone mentioned that some plants prefer manipulation more than others...I'll get some pics up of a plant that's hatin life cuz I tacked it down!, it was perfectly healthy...now it looks like crap....it just didn't appreciate the hst and lst. As long as it makes me some seeds I'm gonna be happy with it!

Happy Skunkday Mc and Young Miss Loadie:circle-of-love:
