McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

Good weed everyone! It's done.....a few days in the rafters and it goes into paper sacks. All in all it was ok, a lot of challenges, the best made of a trying environment. Just a thought that everyone probly appreciates already; a grower needs to be versatile, able to change and implement plans quickly. Control is the biggest factor in my sometimes feeble work........you can't steer an auto if you don't have control. One thing that we accomplished very well was the flush. I really am liking a full 30 day flush........if my soil can handle it. The product is so clean burning. My plants in veg are hungry as heck, my soil probly hurting a little already in the smaller 2 gallon pots, I'll top dress with fresh soil, and I'm gonna hit em with a stronger dose of triple sixteen. I will be finishing the 2 gallons with a non organic regimen, I haven't decided completely, but I will get after it soon. The two superskunk in flower are doing fine, today is the last application of nutes....they got half a cup each of dr earth flower girl in the top two inches of soil, 1/2 tsp/gal Epsom, and 1 tbsp. molasses/gal. The final shot of love was 50/50 ro and tap water. They will be at 6 weeks flower on Wednesday. The plants that I hope to collect seeds from are lookin sickly as usual, I grew them for seed and I didn't waste a lot of nutes on em. It's still kinda tempting, they are some of my best genetics, and they do have some sugary buds...............

Good Weed, Mc :)

Are you just bulking the soil up and letting them feed off that until harvest?

Good weed rico, the application is just the std., the ten gallons of soil is supposed to come into play now........and the weed will be absolutely clean and chemical free. I've used this method before with my best results ever, not in ten gallon pots though...,.what I'm hoping for is healthier plants for the finish. The two gallons are gonna be tricky, a completely different scenario. They will be rootbound as hell, and it will be almost like a hydro situation in the fact that the soil should be completely spent by the time they finish. The PK in two gallon pots finish much sooner than the sativa doms, and the shorter flower period is all part of my convoluted plan....that could change if things start going where I don't want them to.

I love this and was telling this to one of my friends yesterday. Im getting him started and he has so many questions.

Improvising is soo important and almost everything I do is on the fly, or the seat of my pants. I am almost an ok grower in my eyes and I am trying to be more versatile in my efforts now, there is so much to learn, and there is thousands of ways to grow this plant.

congrats on a nice harvest more congrats on some 30 day flush meds. reps mcdudie

Thanks shotta, I've got a new one I'm mentoring now, if a person just knows the fundamental principles of plant function, growth and development.........they have a huge edge on the task at hand. I forgot most of the terminology at a cellular level.....but if a person knows the basics they can get to the more pertinent questions......which IMHO have less to do with methodology and more to do with philosophy. While Cervantes and Rosenthal have different philosophies.....and these two are who helped form my philosophy on growing when it comes to published reference.......they still never go outside the fundamental boundaries. Just the basic fact that my most instrumental mentor presented me with a copy of Cervantes....which I will treasure forever.....tells me I need to suck that book up and pay attention. With the information age we have an exponential opportunity to see what others are having success with, apply what fits our unique situations, and just like you said..........wing it at every bump or hiccup that we encounter.

grats on the harvest McL. :Namaste:
