growing new mom to try new strain.. G13 haze. may only go one grow because of the long flower time though. Got some DNA LA Confidential and RockLock that I may bring into the picture after the G13 grow coming up. If I have the room I'll keep the GWS mom going in case I like it more than the others.. Trying to work on making a bigger mom area.

I dont use RW. Moms grow in dirt. Clones go the the ezcloner which are just held by neoprene collars. Once roots hit 6 inches I put into 5x5 pots with hydroton. If I were to grow 12 plants from seed I would use RW or STG to start the seeds. I'll probably always use moms and clones though. Dont go through so many seeds this way.

I veg in the flood table for 1.5 weeks or so then just lift out of the 5x5's and put into the ebb/grow sites. Very easy. First couple of rounds I had issues witht he roots growing through my pots into table and sitting in pooled water. Last grow I put fiberglass screen (from home depot for windows) in the bottom of the 5x5's and it helped but I didn't like how some roots grew into the screen. I used the finest mesh they had..

Most of the plants on the rights side of my tent still have the peice of screen with them as I didnt try to seperate them if it was grown in to much.

My current vegging plants do not have a screen but are elevated about 1/4 inch of the table to stay out of the pool of water that does not completely drain. We will see how this goes. The screen trick really did help keep the roots healthy though as the plants are really thriving compared to the batch on the left. They had a rough start and I lost 2 to root rot. The plants started looking like they were not watered even though I knew the sites were filling. pulled up on the plants and they easily separated from the roots. Now I also run hygrozyme half strength to help the roots out.

if I am following the question right.. no. The vegging plants are separated from the black square pots. I hold the plant then dump the loose hydroton into a bin. Then pull the plant up out of the square pot some clay balls will fall out of the root ball some will stay no biggie. I place into half full or so ebb and gro 2 gallon bucket. Then fill the rest of the way up with hydroton. Super easy.
 
hydroton blows. Im on my 4th grow and now only managed minimal mess....shop vacs are great
