Quick Question MV, how important is it to have an HPS light when flowering? cuz i have 2 4' flouros, one "sunlight" bulb and the other is a flouro grow tube... it looks like a regular tube, but when it turns on, it shines like a reddish pink, so 2 4' bulbs! it's time to replace the bulbs, too... so i wanna know if I SHOULD JUST GET HPS instead of buying more flouros
 
FYI JuturnaSurvive: You're doing what I plan to do. My grow space is 2.5ft wide, and I plan to have 8, four ft fluors. 4 of them are going to be the cheaper warm and cool bulbs, and the other 4 are going to be the Plant/Aquarium and "sun" spectrum bulbs. This will give me about 40 watts, or about 2450 lumes/sq ft.

I would go with HPS but then, I have floros in both of my rooms
I have MH with floros and HPS with floros what can I sayI like them both if you can keep the heat down and that aint alway's easy...!

it all depends on what strain it is they all very, SOMA sucks for yield but for quality of smoke I have found no better it will whip your ass for sure but yield per plant is only a ounce to a ounce 1/2 but White Widow by female seeds hell 2 oz's to 3 oz's per plant and it is good but not as good as SOMA by any means, biggest yield you got to remember I am a indoor grower and it was 5 1/2 ounces from Dutch Passion SKUNK #11 female seeds

anyways man i got a quick question if you got time

Do you mist your plants and if so how often?? I've been running my room pretty high temps but with high humidity also...(by misting/spraying them alot). So do you think spraying the plants multiple times a day is a good thing?

I ues too but haven't in a long time, what I do now is fill the buckets with water and try to keep them as wet as i can matter of fact I let the water run right through the buckets on the floor, I have it setup like that...
really easy, I try to keep high humidity tho the plants really love it and grow 1" to 2 1/2" a day in it...
Hope this help a little its all I do I try to keep it as easy as I can...

yeah an HPS makes a big difference... if you're only growing a few plants, all you need is a 70w or a 150w... but keep the fluoros... i prefer the compact swirlie ones... plants seem to like them better, i think due to the electric and not magnetic ballast... but the HPS also produces the right spectrum for denser buds... so if you combine the two, you get closer nodes, and thicker buds...

but you haft to remember they have only been in flowering, I think 15 to 25 days...:hmmmm: so they wont look all full and pretty don't get me wrong they look nice by all means but not like my bud shots.....:smokin3:

I understand MV, it does take time for them to get really photogenec I was just curious as to how those were going because the process of breeding really intreagued me. After reading your thread and both Cannabibles I am looking for more good reading material on Cannabis. It is such a wonderfull process to watch take place.

I don't know, 1. if you have them in 5gl buckets you can re-veg and flower 3 times with out doing anything to them but cutting them back and putting them back in 24 hour light, if you use floros they will come back faster, then if you use MH and try to re-veg them.. floros are better for re-veg...
2.I also use 2 1/2gl buckets but I am not happy with them, plants do better in 5gl buckets but you can re-veg with some good resalts in 2 1/2 with out doing anything to them but cutting them back it all depends on what size of pot you are using look at it in gallons...
I don't cut root balls only if I pland on keeping it for a year or 2..
Some I do keep for breeding and I do cut the root balls so I can keep it longer...
