Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Ok a Question for all the Growers who know all.... Lol.

How often are you watering under Led Lights.
So far my Pepper Plant needs watering about every 3 days...
How often will the Marijuana Plants last?
I have a moisture meter I put in to test the soil every evening.

It depends on how well your soil drains. I use a mixture of 1 part each FFOF, Perlite and Promix BX. It drains well. I water till it comes out the bottom of the pots then I let them dry out. I usually water about every 3 days with this mixture. :peace:
 
I usually water a certain amount into the drain container and let it soak up into the soil and roots...
I've always have done that.
My wife waters her stuff the normal way, from the top. :)

I do both. I start off by filling all the saucers with water and then by the time I finish the last one the first one has wicked up the water and I begin watering from the top. When water starts seeping out the bottom I move on to the next plant. I go by weight. A 3 gallon pot takes about a gallon of water and is quite heavy compared to it's weight when dry. You get a feel for it. If you are late watering your plants will show signs of stress and begin to wilt, but perk right up after being hydrated.

I had all of these concerns about growing and doing everything right, but the plants seem to tell you what they need and are very forgiving.

Doesn't that martian remote have some sort of dripswitch to control irrigation?
 
Gnarl I had to get some Aluminum Foil and wrap it around the head of The Remote to Help the Martian Brain Waves to penetrate the Control Irrigation thingy to get it to water the plants right...

A whole lot of variables there Catfish, depends on size of the container, temp/RH% of the environment, how much air circulation you have and where it is directed at, how close your running your lights from your plant. But as a general rule of thumb once they get in gallon or larger pots it is around 3 days though they can suck it down pretty quick during big growth spurts.
 
Yeah I have a moisture meter, but just was curious with the Led lights how often it would be, since I have never used leds before...

Better water less frequently but WHEN you water, water them GOOD :) (A good rule is 1L water for 1gal of soil)
TBH, I'd even go so far and say the best (also for peppers) is to water them once they start wilting lightly because of under-watering.
Too much issues (most actually) come from because we over-water, over-feed etc. And those plants (MJ & peppers) LOVE when they get dry once in a while. So..in case of doubt...always better to wait one more day. This is what I learned so far.
