Hi Jon, thanks for your picture, I am very happy that this light works great. thanks for all your help. waiting for flowering stage. hope this is the best one for customers.

that tray the plants are in is 4 x 4 and it looks like they are getting pretty good coverage BID,the reflective material in a tent would probably give even better coverage. Each COB has 30 x 3w diodes for a total of 120 diodes but they are only at 60% power so the light draws 200w, I would like to see this light running at 80 or 90%.I dont know why these COB lights are so much brighter, it seems strange covering a 4 x 4 with only 200w, we'll have to wait and see how it does with a large plant in flower. I ll tell you one thing, if this light does a good job over one large plant theres a really good chance I ll purchase 8 more of them to give my entire 11 x 18 flower room full core coverage with only 4200 watts, I'd really like to know how much these panels cost Sara, and can you make these lights so they can be daisy chained or plugged into each other, maybe up to 5 lights in a string to one wall plug?

now that all of the test lights have been shipped can you get the specifications for the spectrum of each light in lumens per spectrum so we can see the breakdown of how many lumens each spectrum at your rated distance the lights are putting out?

Greetings and salutations,

I've just spent my entire day reading all 32 pages of this thread, some of BID's and Jon705's journal pages regarding the LED testing. I apologize in advance if I ramble but after reading all day I'm starting to look like Crazy Eyes from Mr. Deeds.

I am interested in LED lighting and stumbled upon this thread after a few weeks of research and I really appreciate the information given by everyone in this thread. I joined the community to personally thank everyone for their time and effort given and also would like to start a journal of my own when I (eventually) construct my grow areas.

As a chef, I like to master a recipe and source my ingredients and suppliers and I'm almost certain this lighting is what I'm looking for. I am impressed with the effort Sara has put into this thread with everyone's questions and suggestions. I'm interested in LED because of my living quarters with minimal construction to setup. I can do whatever I want to my apartment but I would need to fix or replace anything upon moving out. I'm a good tenant and would like to keep it that way by being stealth. My apartment building is quiet, neighbours keep to themselves and I'm in the best apartment of the building with dirt cheap rent to go through with my vision.

In the coming days I will start a thread of my setup and would appreciate any feedback, suggestions and constructive criticism by the community. Consider me a zombie and I'm coming for your brains!

Facts or opinions on LED and the types of growing mediums is the next part of my research. I would like to hear from Sara's point of view from the manufacturer as well as everyone else currently using LEDs and their success/failures. I have also subscribed to BID and Jon705 so I can follow their test grows. Any other members to recommend please message me.

Anyways, nice to join the 420 community and look forward to growing positive!

Regards

Thank you dresdenrow79, I'll try my best to give the information you want for you.

Sara,

The following dimensions are my grow areas (I will post pictures when I start my setup and journal).

Closet #1 - 3' wide x 2' deep x 8' high

Closet #2 & #3 - 4' 7 inches wide x 22 3/8" deep x 8' high

Both are identical closets side by side but I can remove the wall separating them as it's just drywall. I could also just drill holes to feed wires through. Pictures will be posted in a few days once I clean them out...I think Jimmy Hoffa is in there somewhere.

Anyways, what lighting would you recommend for those spaces? Anyone else can chime in as well on their thoughts.

I plan to grow 1 plant per closet using DWC and to crop each plant to the space provided and using a trellis I will build. I really would prefer LED as installing HPS would require a bit more construction than I want to with ventilation and exhaust. I could do it, though. My apartment is fairly spacious and I planned on redoing the closets and fixing the walls anyways.

Soil growing is not an option. I live on the top floor and there's no elevator...I am also a newly disabled man with limitations on walking up/down stairs. Carrying things has become troublesome so I have to thoroughly plan out shopping for items as I can only bring back so much with me.

This is my motivation for growing my own medicine as all the doctors I've seen want to pump me full of Oxy's or percs. I don't even take tylenol, aspirin or even cold and flu medicine when I'm sick.

Anyways, sorry for rambling :)

Regards

You've got one major worry taken care of with that 8' ceiling. Shouldn't have any problems with headroom for the light.

The past few weeks I've been saying to myself I should have done this before but I was only an occasional toker and fulltime joker. Not to brag but I will anyways...my apartment and where I'm located in the building is a grower's dream. Odor will not be an issue but I will take all the precautions and any advice on setup. Another option is to have a grow tent but I'd rather work on the closets as a project to keep active and sane. I also don't want to grow too much...any leftovers will be donated to friends and family.

Adoption applications are presently closed :)

This light is keeping up to my 400w MH no problem Sara, im very impressed so far, I never thought I could veg a 4 x 4 area with only 200 watts but so far this COB panel is suprising the hell out of me:)

With the cob turned off. Somebody mentioned that blue and red only panels will give the leaves a dark waxy look but they look pretty much identical to the girls under the 400 to me.

So far so good Sara:)
