I heard that many local stores in the United States are closing again. Is this true?
Yes, to some extent. The whole situation here is... it's completely surreal, and unreal. If you picked up one of those dystopian science fiction novels about a possible future, began reading it, and read the same things that are actually happening (and not happening), you'd decide that the story was just too unbelievable, and throw it into the nearest trash can.
Only it's not fiction .
Up here weve been hearing about the americans that are getting fined for illegally crossing the border. I'll be damned if we get a huge second wave cuz or it
YOU... Need a border wall 1,000,000 times worse than we do.
I read just this morning that one state's governor signed an executive order prohibiting local city/town/county governments from creating/enforcing things like mask-wearing laws!
I wish— well, I wish it hadn't happened at all. But, failing that, I wish it had occurred back in the 1960s. It wouldn't be half the people in this country standing around wringing their hands, saying, "Gee, I wish someone would do something," and the other half encouraging the foolishness, that's for sure.
I remember when my country was considered to be a "superpower." We were not liked by everyone on the planet, certainly. But we were at least tolerated. Because, in the greater scheme of things, we served an important purpose (several of them, even) - and the average person recognized that fact. Now, though...
You know who I'd feel sorry for if things weren't so messed up? King Douchebag's protective detail. Because people in that line of work see and hear all kinds of unsavory things, and just have to "eat it" because their job really has very little to do with the person, so to speak.
But things are as they are. Saying that their motivation is to look out for the country is no longer a valid statement; it's just an excuse to close one's eyes and cover one's ears. I guess those paychecks must be the real motivation these days. Still, I bet the "employee burnout rate" is pretty high. It's common knowledge that he routinely uses them as butlers and valets. What probably isn't common knowledge is that he's vacationed so much, has so many family members that also require their services, et cetera... that the relevant agency actually ran out of money! Yep, many of those men and women were told they weren't going to get paid, and/or suffered "rolling layoffs" until the appropriations came through. So I really don't know what goes through their heads. If it's not the money, and it cannot be patriotism, just what exactly IS motivating them to continue to get out of bed and come to work each day? A desire to see the train wreck from right behind the conductor's view?
Yeah, crazy is as good a word for it as anything I can come up with. You'd think we were some half-assed third-world country with a halfwit dictator who had bribed and beaten his way into office, and who got his answers from reading the spray pattern of the blood of his victims or something. Actually, some of those have instituted more sensible plans, in regards to the pandemic. You really can't make this stuff up. It's almost enough to cause a person to start believing the rumors that his Russian "friends" set him up with a couple of young ladies - one 14, one 12 or 13 - in a room that was wired for sound and video, and have been blackmailing him ever since. But I'm not even sure that that kind of thing would be enough to account for some of the decisions he has made. So... IDK, probably just vicious rumors that haven't immediately been laughed out of existence because they're not entirely out of line with some of the things he has done and said.
Probably.
It does cause one to wonder at the occasional haunted look his daughter has had, though. . . .

Will he remain in office? That's a questionHe didn't bribe and bully his way into office? I feel bad, should never have a capitalist as president. Its all about money money money. He's probabky working all of his employees till they get the virus. Im mostly hoping he catches it
