Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

That sounds realistic with a normal strain yes. But these are not high yielders. I grow them because I like them and I will make them into Christmas trees :)

7 plants you should still pull a dry oz. A plant. If you can't get that is it even worth growing them?

All of them are nice and healthy as always:welldone:

According to your previous post, and considering the strain is not heavy yielder, I will guess 20g per plant:)

COB update
Day 6

And a photo from my Mars tent. This is 12 mystery seeds - either White Widow or White Widow x Bubbleicious, and 4 Train Wreck plants

Seems the Jack's are loving the COB light - Anyone dear to guess what yield I will get from 7 plants under this COB? It's 6 liter airpots and organic soil. This strain is NOT a heavy yielder.

8 to 9 oz, Am I guessed less:grinjoint: Really hope the final results as you guessed:lot-o-toke:

Im gonna go out on a limb and say 8 to 9 oz. I believe that little light will perform great.✌️

Wait and see:Namaste:

I doubt that's possible with this strain. It's not a high performer. Gonna test with a high yielding strain when I get a tent for it

Now I'm a little impatient, I eager to know the final results.

Christmas tree, that should be awesome, I had saw one of our customer decorated his plant as Christmas tree, it's so beautiful:hippy:

I am guessing 20 grams per plant too. This is the first time I grow them properly though. Always just had one or two standing here and there, on the floor, next to a grow and so on. So it will be interesting.

I will do a round in DWC later with a high performing strain. To find out how many grams per watt it's possible to get - any suggestions for strains?

When you run dwc do you do a top feed until the roots hit the water or do you just raise your water level? I went with a water pump and a bigger tote so I'm curious about individual bucket experience.

This cultivator has two separate grows (4 plants) that were started in dwc. For each the seeds were germed using the paper towel method. Once cracked each was placed into a rapid rooter. Three levels of hydroton were placed into the bottom of the net baskets. Then the rapid rooter placed on top on this third layer and filled in around. Not yet over the top. The water level was placed at 1/2 inch below the bottom of the net basket. The popping of the bubbles in my system is enough at that level to lighty wet the bottom couple of inches of the basket and keeping the rapid rooter moist. This has promoted the tap root to seek out the water down below. This has worked for my ladies. Some wait to place the rapid rooter into the net basket until roots show. And some top water their seedlings until they see roots. And yet others place the water level above the bottom of the net basket. No single method is best/right/or wrong. Now once the seedlings get a few real leaves be sure to cover the rapid rooter and fill the net basket with your medium as to block out any light leaks. So to recap history for my two grows so far is to germ as normal, place in rapid rooter immediately into the dwc with the water level 1/2 inch below the net basket bottom. Ensure the rapid rooter remains moist but the action of the bubbles should wet the basket enough. This is rookie information at best. Hope this assists with what you choose to do. Grow on!

I have one girl going right now. I butted a feeding tube right up to the side of my rapid rooter and used the rapid rooter (already in the hydraton and basket) to germinate my seeds. I was just curious if 1 method is quicker than another. Im all for shaving a little time off and getting the same results lol

What do you guys think. Should run 2 LED LIGHTS (400W + 300W) in the same tent (3x3x6.5)? I'm growing an Auto Mazar & a dark devil in 5 gal fabric pots? Please help!

That would translate to around 78w/sqft. That is a good number to have. Your plants should love that amount of light. IMO that would not be overkill. Let us see what else the community adds. Good luck. Grow on!

This is some information found on this subject...."Generally, your goal with LED panels should be 50-60 watts per square foot of grow space to get the best results."

I'd think that germin' right in the rapid rooter directly in the dwc would probably be the quickest less stress way to do it. On my next grow that is what was planned, to germ right in the rapid rooter. Glad to hear I'm not the only one mad nuff to experiment around. Thanks for the info.

Had a buddy tell me to try it so i did. Turned out pretty good in my opinion

That's awesome, want to know what the maximum yields that the COB can give:lot-o-toke:

Are the 300w or 400w actually watt of the Led lights?

78w/sq ft, that sounds nice, would give the plants enough light, but will need to care about the temps

Agreed:high-five:

I agree with above mentioned post. Should be plenty of light. If plants look stressed, just back the lights off a little bit each day until no more signs of stress.

So now you only give the plants about 14 hours of light right? what stage of your plants?

Hey Sara - yes, as of tonight it'll be a 14/10 (from 13/11) light/dark cycle. Plant is an auto about 25days old I think (maybe 26). Going super well under the 300. I'm just getting the light lower over these few days as it makes the transition from seedling to veg. Down to about 20" now. Seems ok. .

If I wasn't needing to sleep in here she would have 20/4, but I need sleep too and I'm sure she'll be fine. Is powering right now (will post new pics in a day or so). I have 300w in 2'x2' space, so according to the figures above, I have plenty of light! .
