It is expensive Sara But it is a very cool lamp. I wish it was cheaper so I could afford buying 6-7 of it
We will learn the next 3 months how well the Mars COB performs. I am growing 7 plants under it right now. If that little lamp Is able to produce enough grams per watt, it will definitely be worth the money.
The pro series are a great investment. If you truly have no budget limits, I would however buy 8 of this lamp instead of 2 320's. You get to spread them much better in your tent and that's a super advantage.
Here's from one of my tents
I can already tell ya, it's going to kill it. I believe soon this will be their biggest seller
The COB is as close to perfection I have seen in a lamp. It's so lovely it is fanless, no noise. And also that the whole lamp stay so cool you can touch the lamp anywhere, even after being on for several days, it doesn't get hot - not at all. It never gets uncomfy to touch.
What I wish for to be able to replace my pro-series with COB's only. But that would cost quite a lot if I want to replace all 1600 watts with cob. But I see the DIY solutions out there are super expensive too.
Took 4 days for 7 plants to break the surface
Hello everyone!
I just ordered mars hydro reflector 48x5 and a tent 70x70x160 CM from mars. I have few grows behind with CFL-s but im new when i comes to LED. So i am curious can i grow 2 autoflowers under this one panel in this tent? I read about a little around forum and it seems possible, but people always add some cfl-s and stuf.. I dont want that, so is it possible with just one mars 48?
Thanks for quick answer man! But it bothers me, they say that veg coverage is 60x60 that is ok but in flowering stage only 40x40cm. That is not quite for 2 plants... should i hold my panel little higher than usual? and is that recommended to do?

You asked about price Sara - It has Cree and Osram, they're supposed to be more efficient. It will probably perform better than 100 watt HPS. I see other companies that sells lamps with such chips and leds, they rate their lamps much higher than the pull from the wall. Some rate their 80 watt pull from the wall lamps as 240-250 watt. If the Mars Hydro cob perform as well as those, then it is a bargain. So it is very interesting. I can't wait to test it in DWC. That's when we get to see what it really can do yield wise. Sadly I need to save up some money before I can do that test
OK, Now Mars Hydro COB are also available for Australia the COB carrys IP65 enclosures which offer complete protection against particles and water Using MeanWell driver, cxb 3590, and around the COB had add red and blue chips, which are Osram and Cree chips Fan radiator help your tent running cool without any noise Only 10 pcs for AU, Is there anyone want to try it
I'm growing in my bedroom (with a mars 300) so I totally would live too! But have no budget to do so.... .
Is the COB more resistant to water than the other lamps Sara?
I was growing in a bedroom with Mars Pro Epistar 160 It was quite horrible. That fan is maybe not so loud, but when you have to listen to it all night, every night. It kinda drives you crazy. So a soundless lamp is a very good thing
