Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Evening goof:circle-of-love: it is also a hard decision for us to stop producing Mars II lights, but technology is developing, if we don't want to lose the market, we must make improve and provide better products, just like Apple.:high-five:

Really is a shame you are ending the mars ll series. My girl loves her 900. Had to tie her open a bit this morning because she was getting to bushy for the light to hit her lower leafs. Just a week or so untill she goes into 12/12. Will post pics later tonight or in the morning when i check her after work

Evening Velk, bigger fan might more noisy I guess, but now technology developed so fast, I do believe the heat problem will can be solved one day. :Namaste:
About our Mars II 1200 and 1600, they are OK, their true watt are about 480w, 630w. they are like your Mars II 900, but more fans in:high-five:

research bigger and better heatsinks/fans maybe ? im looking for powerfull leds bigger than my 900s so is there any isse with the series 2 1200 or 1600 w ? as i was looking to get a new series 2for my set up before they stop all together but if they have an issue with heat disapointingly will have to look for something else as i dont want loads of little leds id rather 1 big unit than managing many :Namaste:

Haha Thank u Velk:circle-of-love:
You mean you use the 70x70cm grow tent as the veg tent?

i have 2 900w they are amazing right

also this tent was what i used for my veg tend i actually managed to fit 8 16l smart pots iin there for veg haha

Thank you for ur support:circle-of-love:
During seedling and veg stage, you can just turn growth switch on, when in flowering stage turn both switches on for plants will love more light during flowering:high-five:

Just ordered the 120 pro epistar 2 thanks everyone for the suggestion!!!

Did u guys keep both switches (veg/bloom)at on when in blooming phase?:)

Yeah, some people would love to turn both switches on during the whole growth and plants are great.:cheer:

I go both after about two weeks of veg.

Here are two autos growing well under a Mars-Hydro Reflector 96. The Blue Mystic is on the left. The plant on the right is a Northern Light. Mars-Hydro lights are wonderful. When I upgrade Mars is the way to go. Thanks Sara.

Evening tryan, BM has nice color, she is great!:bravo:
Is there something wrong with NL? I see her leaves are a little yellow, hope she is OK

The lesson learned was a tough one on the plants Sara. After the first weeks in the DWC a switch was made from using tap water to straight RO water. What I now know is that the tap water is so high in ppm due to all the added nutrients the water company adds to the water for various reasons. A couple of those nutrients are Calcium and Magnesium. In RO water these are filtered down to a non existent state. So for two weeks these two ladies suffered cal/mag deficiency. Once I caught on to the problem supplemental cal/mag has been added to my RO water and these two have responded well. Sara you are very observant with seeing those spots. All new growth is coming in lean and green. Thank you for looking out for these ladies. Go Mars go!

Got it:cheesygrinsmiley: You definitely gave me a good lesson:thumb:
After you added cal/mag, I do believe they will back healthy and become better and better:Namaste:

You're getting good at this :)

I grow with well water. In soil I never needed to add cal-mag, but it seems that in hydro, some plants wants a little extra. One should think calcium and magnesium would exist in sufficient amounts in well water, but apparently not. my PH/EEC meter died, so I didn't measure my water, but the pH is very high - like 8.5, so something is in it. The plants seem to love it though. Am using a R/O filter in the kitchen for drinking water. That one actually adds both calcium and magnesium, but it doesn't generate enough amounts of water to feed my grows. Anyway - just felt like rambling I guess

Yeah, the trichomes come nicely:thumb: waiting to see NL boom:morenutes:

This is a Northern Light auto under a Mars-Hydro 96 on Day 42 from germination. Amazing how hard this little gal is working to produce. Trichomes are coming on already.

I heard that PH is 6-6.5 is great in soil, no sure the what PH is perfect for hydroponic.
PH 8.5 really high, but the plants don't have any issue, that's the point:bravo:

6.2-6.3 in soil. Lime to keep it there.
Hydro 5.5 to 5.8 but a lot of growers start at 5.2 when they swap water to allow for the fluctuation that will eventually land it in the sweet spot

Congrats rooster:bravo: yummy buds, now you can enjoy it:drool: You have my envious
