Hello everyone :)

So, i bought a mars hydro 1600 from a friend about 1½ years ago, it was brand new in the box and never used, since i did not have any option to grow with it, it have just been sitting in the box until 6 months ago, i completed the first grow with it without any problems (besides the low yield obviously) But here after my second run, i have encountered 15 problems, i have added a picture so you can see them... :) (hint: diodes are burnt out, not just dead, but proper burnt out....)

Finally got the picture working...

So i obviously dont have any warranty as i got this of a friend and i am not here to get a new lamp. (!)

But i would really like to know, is it normal that MH only can grow 2 grows before being ready to scrap? I mean, its not the cheapest or best light out there, more like a mediorce light but i would still expect them to atleast run for a few years before dying.. but obviously there are used some cheap/faulty diodes and/or drivers, i have googled the problem and it seems like its 90% of the MH 2 lights sold will have the faulty diodes/drivers that die after short time, its really a shame...

I still have my MH 400 that i use for a small veg-room from time to time, that one is still alive, but it has only run for like 3 months, so i guess its got another 3 months in it before dying aswell??? :)

I enjoyed trying out these LEDs, but imo, they are too weak for flowering, they make more heat in the growroom than a 600w aircooled hps and last but not least, they yield alot less than a hps.

(I know a few people have documented decent yields, but its only a handful, but you never see any green on a weight, only people writing they did good, with no proof, hell, most people dont even weight it, they just estimate their amount and brag)

Either way, like i said, i enjoyed trying them out, maybe ill try again in 10 years time when they can actually make buds pack weight or atleast work for longer than two grows :)

:circle-of-love:I agree with you, many growers said the buds taste better under the LED growing compare to HPS,and the quality will be better as well.:high-five:
Everyone has their own preference and needs, I have growed with hps and led and for me I like led, especially quality of buds, same strain but buds was alot better under led, I even yielded more with my led.

What do you think about the ps cob? ..️

:circle-of-love:Thanks,The Mars Pro II series are rock star now, haha. With good growing method and growing condition, maximise the yield is possible.:high-five:
I have two epistar 160's have looked at ps cob and it looks fantastic. Don't get me wrong loving the epistars but the ps spectrum and cob integration is killing it.

:circle-of-love:thanks for your help.:thanks:
Yes,anyone bought Mars-hydro products,no matter when/where,we will try our best to help them.
Leds grow beautiful plants and buds. Tons over the 420 have proved it over and over again. With mars lights and others. Cause you Bought a bum light from your buddy isn't mars fault. But if your decent about it Sara will probably help you out and get that one running again. Wouldn't say it's junk yet. I had a 1600 which burned out led within first month or so and Sara hooked me up.
As tom said everyone has them own opinion but my say between led and hps with the right led light you can easily out perform hps with quality and quantity.ive grown with hps and still do. If I already had the money all my lights would already be led but due to cost i can't right yet.

humm...many of our growers change from HPS to LED grow light, they got great results......you may share with us your growing experience, they may help you with it.:high-five:For LED growing, there is little different from LED growing.:Namaste:
You can send email to our service,we will try our best to help you.:high-five:
I never said it dont grow decent buds, they just dont pack the same weight and size as hps buds do :)

But im not here to argue or bash MH, im just wondering why they burn out so fast, i can see its a very common problem.

ps. the lights were brand new, unopened box.

If you think HPS packs more weight than LED, then you didn't really try LED. Try again and do it right next time :)

I have grown for 10+ years, i know what im doing :)

Sara, thanks alot, i might send you a mail, im not sure i will ever use this lamp again, but then atleast i can fix it and give it to someone else to try. (I do wonder why you say it draws 630w, on your website it says 705w :) )

maybe it's because you guys use different growing method and growing condition:Namaste:
My mars light and my other led light both grow the same quality and quantity buds as my hps just with less cost and heat.but as you said most lie about there final weight lol.

:circle-of-love:with LED grow light, the temperature will be lower, and for long term growing,it will save the electricity bill.:goodjob:
My Mars 1200 (600w actual draw) done a great job in my 4×4, believe it or not I yielded right at 23oz with autos and almost 8 more from the hps but I had temp issues in the hps room and my buds were nowhere near as dence and frosty as my led, i would have probably done alot better with the hps if I hadn't had high temps...️

you are having great time with those Mars Pro II Epistar lights:cheer::cheer::cheer:
If you think HPS packs more weight than LED, then you didn't really try LED. Try again and do it right next time :)

:goodjob:and some growers whom use the HPS for a long time, and they will combine the LED together, they also get great yield.and then gradually change to LED growing.:high-five:
Led and hps are tools use them

Mars II 1600 we shows the draw watt is around 630W,and it's conservative number):high-five:
Sorry the link you send which i can not open.can you post the picture one on 420mag?
May i know your growing tmeperature and what is the hanging distance you are using? :high-five:
Usually growers with LED grow light, you will get great results, they will lie about that here,as they grow it for their own,and they do not need to lie to anyone.:high-five:
I have grown for 10+ years, i know what im doing :)

This is what they looked like 7 weeks into flowering, in a 140x140x200cm tent.

I heard rumors about the buds not packing up size and weight as well under LED :) If your buds are not looking like this, you're not doing it right!

tom smith, please provide me some pictures of the final weight in :)

All you have to do is look my journal up and it all there all almost 200 pages lol (Tom Smith's First Indoor Grow With Autos 2017). Im no expert grower by no means but I have to say I got great results from my Mars so far, I went out and bought a second Mars 1200 and another 4×4 tent so I can do away with the hps, im also getting ready to start another journal in a week or so and you are welcome to come tag along.

As far as people lying about what they yielded maybe some people do but im not that type, I was kinda skeptical when I seen new growers on here pulling over 20oz and thought maybe they was lying also but after achieving right at 23oz myself I realized it can be done and not everyone goes around lying about what they yielded, some of us are actually straight forward you know. Here are the last three I harvested under my Mars led, first one almost 6oz, second one over 5oz, and third was right at 4oz. The buds on these plants are extremely dence and sticky...️
