Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

I know if I posted on social media that I was growing, I would be arrested the same day. Where I am at it's extremely illegal and I would go to prison for many years. I don't know about you @IndyRacerNick, but for someone who is so concerned about safety as me, watching you the past half hour really hurted :)

No not in a legal state here, but you have no worries, I do not mean twitter, instagram or facebook for social media. I am part of other communities online and was asking some support to upgrade my 240Watt light. all is good :)

Sure thing Sara - I can send you seeds if you want to grow The Devil's Widow :) But are you sure you want to do that in China? You know they would kill you - right?

save some for me also:volcano-smiley:

It seems the "going back to bed" plan failed :) It's so late now I can just as well boil some coffee and wait for the contest results

@SmokeSara - I have a really weird request :)

you know those chinese lucky cats that is often greeting you with a waving arm in chinese restaurants in europe and america? My girlfriend really really wants one of those. A big one - Do they sell these everywhere in China?

If I send you some money - Do you think you could buy and send a luckycat to me? :)

Yes - I use very expensive professional gear. Photography is a hobby of mine

haha, you got nice pics and you got great camera?haha:volcano-smiley:

Right now we only have Mars Pro II series light at our international warehouse, for the COB light we do not have tock yet, even at our factory no have stock yet.:Namaste:
Mars Pro II Epistar120 draw power around 260W,the new design COB Power draw: 110W + - 5%@AC120V 108W + - 5%@AC240V
Many growers has been growing with the Mars Pro II Epistar seires for a while.:high-five:
Thanks for the reply, yes I meant the cob, how well do you expect it to do compared to the Mars Pro II Epistar 120. I can only afford one light at the moment and am unsure if I should buy the 120 or wait till the cob is available.
Thanks

:circle-of-love:also the Mars Pro II Epistar120 is with Growth and Bloom switches, the COB isn't switchable.:high-five:The COB light can cover 2.5'x2.5' area:high-five:
The COB is only 100 watt, so it's a very very small lamp. No doubt you would get much more light if you buy a Epistar 120. The 120 is around 400 watt

May i know that does you guys ever tried to eat the pollen of cannabis? :volcano-smiley:I know that many flower pollen is very good for skin.....:volcano-smiley::volcano-smiley:
I have live pollen ,lots of males and stored pollen .
Put your pollen in a ziplock bag within another ziplock bag in a jar in the freezer .
If u can vacuum seal then beautiful it will last a long time many years if not it will still last a couple years but as time goes on it will become less viable so better to keep those strains your working on progressing towards your goal as your females get better so to will your males .

the coverage is different, because of the different desing for the lights.the size of the light and the gap of the diodes.
The new design COB light with bigger coverage, but the Mars Pro II Epistar120 with higher light intensity and penetrate deeper, and if you hang the light higher,it can cover larger spaces.:high-five:
The COB light use CREE and OSRAM chips, and MW driver:high-five:
Thanks, its the power that's confusing me, the cob is rated at 2.5*2.5 feet area at less watts but the pro 120 is rated at 1.5*2 area with lots more watts.

Does that mean the pro 120 can flower taller plants and get more bigger buds from a smaller floor space with the cob being more suited to a sea of green producing smaller buds,

I'm just trying to work out why the cob is more expensive per watt, if it's more efficient or more reliable.

I might have to wait till I've seen the finished product from the cob when someone tests it.
Thanks

:circle-of-love:Yes,the light intensity is different, some grower may not like silent light, cuz when you touch the surface of the light,it's hot,but the aluminum shell will dissipate the heat to the air.:high-five:
I understand. I don't know really when it comes to the COB. It perhaps spreads the light better like the reflector series. Less intense light but bigger coverage. According to SmokeSara the pro II 80 is more powerful. one 160 is two 80's so there is no doubt which has the more power. The COB is completely silent though. That's kinda cool.

Where did you find the price of the COB?

I think COB is the future. Because of power efficiency and output

:circle-of-love:Yes,the light intensity is different, some grower may not like silent light, cuz when you touch the surface of the light,it's hot,but the aluminum shell will dissipate the heat to the air.:high-five:

:circle-of-love:As the new design COB light not online yet,we do not know how the growing results, that's why we hold the contest, our grower will test it and then we will know exactly how it works.:high-five:
In a nutshell, COB's use less power to create more light. There is less thermal loss/heat generation and no need for a focusing lens or a reflector housing (like the current Mars lights) due to their dispersion. The light bandwidth is broader — including 'white' light. Everything I have read says that they are great grow lights with a big following in the DIY market. Since it is the latest tech, prices are still relatively high compared to conventional LEDs.

:circle-of-love:i think soon we will know how the COB light works.:volcano-smiley:
Thanks for that explanation. I've seen a few DIY cob builds and they really look nice

:circle-of-love:thanks for your offer, but this time we will let the winner of the contest to test the new light for us.:volcano-smiley:
I can't wait to try them out ,I grow a lot of plants. Big plants and i think these mars LEDs from what I see could help me improve even further ,Sara let me test one and end this debate of led vs hps ,inbox me!

:circle-of-love:the LED grow light with better spectrum for growing thann the HPS,and with lower temperature:volcano-smiley:Also the Mars Pro II series lights which you are using, are the best light among our products so far.:bravo::bravo:
They're fantastic. I used HPS before and I got much better results from LED than I ever did from HPS. To be fair - When I grew with HPS I had really shitty conditions and was doomed to fail, so I never got to do a fair comparison

:circle-of-love:Sure you can go with the Mars Pro II Epistar160 light ,many growers are using it.We publish the COB,it's because many grower want us to have COB light, and we only produce 100pcs at the first time.:high-five:Yes,the price is $249.99USD
You can use the coupon code:sara, when you place order on our official website.:high-five:
Thanks for that information.
I think I'll get a 160 soon and see what these cob LEDs can produce when a couple of grow diaries have completed and might treat myself at Christmas and get a cob if I see good results.

On page 2299 it says new design,COB Cree,Osram chips, the price is around $249.99USD
