Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

I would love to try out the new Mars light. For me personally the fanless option is not of any importance as it can only get that stealthy with extraction fans going on full 24/7. So the reduced noise from being fanless is not a plus in my book. I do however think for other growers having a silent light can mean a difference. People who use silencers on the ducting and so on who want to reduce the noise.

But there are other concerns - How hot do they get compared with the designs that has fans? How hot will they be compared to HPS and to the Mars Pro-Series? Will it increase/reduce temperature in the tent?

The light look cool and if I needed a new light right now I would consider to try this one out.

Will they come in different sizes and strengths just like the other series?

The only thing that would concern me about not having a fan on the light is the fact that my 1 mars bar48 led light bar is running at 135f after 15-18 hrs of running. None of my other mars products with fans run that hot and I have the mars pro320,reflector144 and had the mars 1600 and there par 38 bulbs which doesn't have a fan.

Almost at week 8 of flowering .

:circle-of-love:You may share some pics of your plants,Reflector48 is a small light for a 2.5'x2.5 growing space...
So I have the Mars Hydro Reflector 48

Been using it since seed and no problems

Now I am into flower and I though I had a nutrient problem, however it appears that the LED has cooked my plant.

Height is set to recommended for flowering stage and I am 4 weeks into flower.

Just increased the height to about 18" and hopefully there is no more problems (2.5 x 2.5 grow space)

Temp inside room is 26C
RH is 50%

This COB light is a small light, the whole shell are made of aluminum,we used good material for the heatsink,it will dissipate the heat better.:high-five:We also used Cree chips,MW driver,it's with good quality, can handle the heat well.:Namaste:
As this light is slient, without fan,the heatsink will collect heat of the light,it can not dissipate to the air immediately,so the surface of the aluminum will be hot,but it will release the heat as fast as it can,it will be safe to use.If compare this COB to the Mars Pro II series,it will be hot,but it will not raise the room temperatuer too much.If compare to the HPS,this COB light will be cooler,it will heatsink.:high-five:
It is very good for growers who need slient in their growing room.:bravo:

The growbar 48-120cm draw power around 92w,the aluminum will collect the heat of the light and dissipate to the air.As the heatsink for this grow bar is narrow size, and it is without fan,so the heat can not immediately disspate, but it will release as fast as it can,so the surface of it will be hot when you touch or test it. It will be the same working principle with the house use bar or the CFL.:high-five:
You used 4pcs Grow bar48-120cm,the surface of the grow bar around 135F,but the room temperature didn't go very high. And our grow tent can work in a 70-80C without anyproblem.
The grow light Work Temperature:-4°F ~105°F (-20°C ~ 40°C) means the room temperature.:Namaste:Not the surface of the light temperature.
The Par38 LED grow light is a very small light, but when you touch the heatsink, you will feel it.As the heat is much less,so it will dissipate very fast.:high-five:

I think you underestimate the power of a LED in a small place, especially your own product. Especially the mars hydro 48 reflector which is a beast it seems.

It cooked my plant leaves which you can see on my journal from my signature below.

I am growing 2 plants in there from seed the only light I used was the mars reflector 48

I run a reflector 144 in a 2/4/5 tent and have no problem. Keep your light a bit higher.

I am running the 96 and I have it about 12 inches away and my girls are loving it ✌

12" is where I had it. She took it well until early in flower. No issues during veg.

Nice plants ya got there I must say

:bravo:Sorry my fault....i underestimate the Reflector48's power. How about your PH level for this plant? You can hang your light higher to see if things getting better, also check the nitrents.
