Mars 300 actual power is around 132w,the coverage is :growth 2'x2',bloom 1.5'x1.5'.
But i would recommend you go with Reflector 48,coverage is 2'x2',actual power is around 101w.Reflector series with better built-up compare with Mars 300,Reflector is switchable, you can control spectrum settings between Growth / Bloom Mode,Reflector uses reflection board ,which will reflect maximum light back to the plants:high-five:
Hy Sara, I'm looking for some advice on what lamp to buy.
I will be growing in a small cabinet; approximately 2 x 2 feet, 60 x 60 cm.
Unfortunately I can only afford one of these lamps:

- The Mars300 (60 x 5w, which is the real one, the 130 or 140 true watt?)
- The Reflector 48 (48 x 5w, 101 true watt)

However I can't figure out what mars hydro lamp is the better choice.
I will be using the lamp for both growth and flowering stage.

Hi Jack,:circle-of-love:Thanks for your help.If only consider for higher power, the Mars 300 is good choice, but Reflector series with better built-up.:high-five:
Yeah,Reflector 96 would be a better choice ,it will provide higher intensity.:high-five:
I'm glad to hear that you are happy with the light:thanks:
I'm not an expert--just an enthusiastic amateur ;) --but experts generally recommend 40 to 50 true Watts/squarefoot for best results, which works out to 160 to 200W for your space. Based on that the Mars300, at 132 true Watts is the better choice and bang for the buck. If you could swing a little more money, the 214W Reflector96, with its switchable veg/bloom modes would be give you more light and control, but costs more money.

I love my Reflector lights. Hope this helps! :):Namaste:

:thanks:Thanks for sharing with us here.Your girls look beautiful in that color:bravo:
:thumb:I'm sure they are having a happy growing:high-five:

If you buy Reflector series there is good news for you ,:cheertwo:you can buy directly from our webiste with the code:420magazine,you can get 2 month extended Warranty with 5$ off,:bravo:the price on our website is cheaper.:high-five:If you want to buy Mars 300,you can only buy on ebay.:Namaste:
It does, thank you very much.

I would love to buy the Reflector 96, but it's simply not doable for me.
About $100 is my absolute maximum for lights.
Buying the mars300 saves me a couple of bucks which I can spend on some T5 for extra wattage.

which will reflect maximum light back to the plans

That is very important. Ensuring that as much of the illumination actually reaches the plant(s) as is possible means that the grower is getting a higher percentage out of the electricity that they're paying for each month to run the garden's light(s) (and move the heat out of the garden). Being able to actually use one's light is one of the things that make those high gram-per-watt gardens possible.

:thanks:yeah, the reflection board can maximize the energy efficiency :high-five:

I know itss in this thread somewhere but there are too many pages

I am about to set up my two new 144 reflectors over one week old seedlings which I have transplanted into soil in 4 inch pots.
