Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

you may share some new pictures of your girls with us.I'm sure they are having a happy growing:cheer::cheer:
I have mine at about 18 inches from the canopy and it does cover a big area at that height but i should have lollipopped better as the bottom of the plants look a bil droopy. I love the way it grows and there are some cases where they either have some iffy equip or questionable customer service but overall i have had an amazing experience with them

wow,MazHeadroom, you got great yield and you are with great experience now.:cheer: congratulations!!!:cheer:
I've just completed my first ever grow with Mars II LED's

Total wet weight of harvest from 2 x Painkiller XL and 1 x Blueberry was 1,246g.

All the girls were started off on a Mars II 400 and a Mars II 900 was added a couple of weeks into flower.

Very happy Mars Hydro customer here and the fact Sara is on here helping people makes me confident that, should issues arise, my investment in LED will be protected.

Final statistics

It's hard to come up with the average watts because the second light wasn't added until a couple of weeks into flower, but let's pretend both lights were running from the start

Mars II 400 - 170 true watts
Mars II 900 - 380 true watts

Total true watts - 550

Wet weight - 1,246g
Dry weight - 312g (estimated based on dry weight being 25% of wet weight)

grams per watt = 0.57

I must say that I'm very happy with that for a first grow with many mistakes along the way. Yield will only go up as lessons learned are applied.

If I start a party, for sure, they will be my first gusts:cheer::cheer:they are in nice figure:cheer:
Almost 30 days since switched to 12/12 using Mars Hydro LeD

yes, each strain is unique, they need different intensity and situations. You need adjust the hanging distance according the react of your plants.:high-five:
If the temperature is too low for a long time,it's also not good for them.Hope you will find a good way.:high-five:
I have been reading tons on growing with led, tips n tricks.
Careful to not over-water/overfert. LEDs do not generally produce the same evaporation/transpiration rates that hids do!!
Find the optimal hanging distance for your led unit..... Unfortantly this can be a pain, as different strains like different intensities. I have 2 x 144/5 in a 3x3 and some like the intensity of 70watts per sqft but a couple are not happy..
Environment temperature should be around 82 - 85 for optimal growth, not the lower temps we always fought to keep down. I'm struggling to get my temps higher but can't get above 79/80 lol. Never thought in my life of grows that I'd complain about low temps!! Will share any other led tips once I read about them more. Peace!!

Hi KelticBlue, thanks for sharing with us.You did a good job:cheer:
Hey all
I did a quick photo tutorial on replacing a light diode. I had 4 blue lights the needed to be replaced. It is my first DIY so if anyone can add to it and improve on it that would be great. I wish I had done a video and or done more pictures with the soldering part. I did not do any picture of the solder because I was soldering at the time, I got focused and pretty much forgot to take some snaps.

Fine print and Disclaimer: you need to have some ability to solder the small pieces. do not blame me if ya muck up your light.

I hope this helps all you DIYers: ---------->led repair replacement photo tutorial<------------<

If you need i can PM you:high-five:
Hi Keltic,

I have to do the same thing to my Mars2 700. How do you know where to solder the diodes. You saw a photo tutorial? I would be grateful for any info.

Hi PurpleHzae, our recommend hanging distance from canopy.
germination 24-30inches above the plants
veg:18-24 inches above the plants
flower:12-18 inches above the plants
we recommend temperature is between 70ºF and 85ºF
But every plant is unique, you need to adjust it according to the react of your girls.
Hello everyone! i have not been here in a little while but i had a quick question for the fellow Mars II LED users. I am starting seeds in a 4x4 slot tray in my grow tent an currently have the light 30 inches above the tray and the temps are at around 73 degrees with about 55 percent humidity. My question is how high above the tray do you start your light when starting seeds and what temperature do you aim for? :Namaste:

Hi JadedOne,congratulations!!!Hope you have a happy growing:cheer: You many share some pictures with us next time.:high-five:
Just received My light ratchets!

Hi Eugene1,the new driver is still in custom clearance, when we get it ,i will inform you immediately:high-five:
Hello Sara,
I received a reply from Della stating that the drivers are out of stock. Could you update? My grow has been stalled for three weeks since I first contacted M.H.

Good news!!! we already finished make the Mars Pro II Epistar 320 for the winner of The First Mars-Hydro Cup ,after we finish the test,we can send them out this Friday .And my colleague will send email about more information to you guys.

Hi Sara,

Your service center had me pay for the repairs because the lights were exposed to humidity higher than 50%. As I stated earlier I exposed them to humidity as high as 70% but never more than that. My grow area environment is equipped with a dehumidifier and an air conditioner plus 2 blowers for air exchange in the room so all the parameter are properly controlled.

Because the light was more than a years old they had me pay for the shipping to ship it to your repair center and told me you would cover the fees for the repair and the shipping to get it back home. I reluctantly agreed and paid the 100$ shipping fee

Once the light has been repaired Della told me that the repairs wouldn't be done under warranty because the light was exposed to humidity higher than 50% .Then they just sent me a 120$ US bill to get my light back. They could have asked me if I was willing to pay for the repairs before proceeding...

Della also had your repair center text me and ask me to what humidity % I was exposing my light. I was naïve and I told the guy the parameter of my room which were 70% max for veg ...

The person took pictures of the text and sent them to Della which then used them to have me pay for the repairs saying that the light was exposed to a damp environment and that was the reason why I had to pay the fees.

I paid the 120$ because i needed to get that light back and our emails exchanges weren't moving fast enough. ( I understand you must be very busy that why i paid for the repair hoping we would come to an agreement afterward)

Today i am sending you a 2nd light for repair and a 3rd one will follow once I receive this one.

I hope it will be covered by warranty this time.

Thank you

Frank

Hi Frank8898,We have tested our lights, they can be used in around 90% humidity, when the humidity is around 90%,it will not condenses into water. So it's ok when the humidity higher than 50%.:high-five:If the light did not drop into water, we can repair it.:Namaste:

Hi Keltic,

I have to do the same thing to my Mars2 700. How do you know where to solder the diodes. You saw a photo tutorial? I would be grateful for any info.

Hey Sara? can I link/use this video in my repair thread? anyone know the protocol? I don't want to thieve but it looks like the thing that would complete the lesson. The video could be edited with little text bubbles to describe in words what is going on ( there is no audio ) That is what I would do.
Eugene1, I meant to add, Mine is a reflector96, not a mars 2 so the light diodes and the board may have some differences. They look like similar surface mounted light diodes.

. . . . .I see new videos posted to their YT channel, I have not watched it through but it looks good so far, Check this out---->>[video]
