Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

yeah i fully agree 4 inch vent for that small a space would be fine but i think he already have the vent and filter? but maybe add the controller? i mounted a temp controller i connected my 4 inch vent to for less than 8 bucks with the postage and a rpm controller for 7 bucks. so my little cabinet stays stable no matter the room temps around it and such. next project is to make an alloy cooling device to mount to my active intake on the back of my cabinet before summer :) looking forward to that project its gonna be awesome to try.

do you not put up mosquito mesh or some type of air sock to avoid the critters btw?

Sure, but depending on brand of tent the vents and screens can still take in mold spores and pollen when in a a negative pressure...
That being said I have a room as opposed to a tent. I maintain a slight overpressure in there.
when I start my 1st start to finish led grow the setup will be seen better until then my focus will be on the flowering pics to compare the results vs a HPS
great hacks on the controllers BTW

yeah that micron sized stuff sucks so much no doubt :D

....1500 pages! Only a few months ago we were at 1000..

People were mentioning never hearing about a fan pulling air out of the tent and then out through a carbon filter go to the 50 second mark of this video. It is just a technique for smaller grow tents to save space and also here is a picture of my setup. Idk why the picture was uploaded sideways

glitch, I just wrote you a long reply and promptly lost it in cyberspace. Looks like Cal def not Mag. calibrate your PH pen ( cal lok due to low PH) or chelate some pulverized calnitrite in compost tea made from your soil and unsulphured ( bubble 36 hours etc etc) molasses and flush n foliar feed. You may want to try some snake oil like dr willards that has enzymes etc to improve cal uptake. Some strains need the extra help with the nutrient uptake.

glitch , I had this problem before with the orange veins and spots. I now add some CalMagic pellets to brix and molasses to break the calmagic down. Some folks say run the calmagic through he blender first. I think it is calcium nitrite. Also after extensive search I found an ozone issue that looked like this . Too much ozone (if you are doing ozone). yur soil may be too hot for veg
, too much guano.

Cool. If it works, it works. I have just never heard or seen that before. In theory it makes sense. I wonder about efficiancy and lifespan.

How often do you water in flower? I have 4 3 gallon smart pots and i have been watering every 72 hours because i don't want to over water them. Does this sound often enough? I would appreciate the advice or any input :high-five::thanks:

Yeah it's kinda hot soil. Get it from the local family run plant store. It's only showing on 2 of my northern lights autos. The 3rd is fine. And my 2 lsd25 autos have no issue..I seam to remember this happening my last grow when the plants where young but it whent away with age. Thanks for the info I definitely think calcium too.

So I'm debating on ordering either another 60x5 Mars led or a apollo ufo flower led. I hate to have to get another brand for supplemental lighting but Mars don't want to make money off us small timers with the bar leds lol. O well any thoughts?

Ok so I decided to go with the old 600 watt model and one more 60x5. I will use the 600 to veg and I will use one of the 60x5s for clones and the other 2 for extra lighting in flower. Then in March I am getting either another Mars ll 1200 or the 1600. Or I might make my own cob.

I hate first world problems lol

In theory I want a strip light with 30 red diodes with a 12hr built in timer-switch/dimmer-knob, I want the light strip to include a 6 far red that come on for 30 min after near red turns off. I would also like a double ended uvb attachment that also has built in timer-switch/dimmer-knob. fans ,on each end( one in and one out ;). power source with built in surge protector, built in emergency heat and humidity shut off, extra long plug wire 8 foot. ? No remote thingees. maybe a wifi phone app with notifications. THis could be a custom made strip or a DIY. Any estimates on costs including one labor, one supervisor, one manager, one marketer and one PR rep? 500$??(plus shipping and fed ex extras)

I'm likely going to build something similar.

That sounds about the way I want mine just without all the wifi Stuff but built in timers for the different spectrum to come on and off when you want that would be bad ass I'm not that good though. I am going to test some Cree 3070s for flowering at 3500k
