Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:circle-of-love:Hi Danky, 2pcs MarsII400 will cover 2.5'x5' and 1pcs Reflector144 will cover 2'x4'. Both option will be enough. The difference lies in the light intensity. The gap between MarsII leds is narrower than that of Reflector so the light intensity of MarsII is stronger than Reflector. Because of that, Reflector will run a little cooler than MarsII.:Namaste: The draw power of MarsII400 is about 190w. 2pcs MarsII400 will give you about 47w/sqft. It will not be overkill. 2pcs MarsII700 will be a little overkill.:Namaste:
Would two Mars II 400w or would one Mars Reflector 144x5 be better for a 2'l x 4'w x 5'h grow space? At first I was leaning towards the 144x5 Reflector series but then I read that the Mars II line has better light penetration? Is that correct? Also, would anything above a Mars II 400w be overkill for this space? Maybe two Mars II 700w (one Mars II 700w won't cover 4' from what I've read)? Thanks for any advice, lots of good info on this site!

:thanks: Thanks for the help, Glitch!:cheertwo:
For a 2x4 foot print I would use 2 mars 2 400 watts. They easily give the 50 watts pers square foot and each covers a 2.5x2.5 nicely so they will be a tad overkill in a perfect kinda way. I love mine in my 2x2 area.

Hey Gnarly... Those 3 different Seeds someone sent me are doing fine.
They all sprout within about 4 days in the Rapid Rooters.
Except for killing them in the Shift from the Moisture dome into real life.
No more Moisture dome...

And then starting over and then...
Over watering them in the 4 inch pots and no good root grow.

And then starting again...
I am now letting them almost dry out in the 4 inch pots, till the pots are a lot lighter.
They are looking so much better, growing taller and more leaves coming out.
Lol.

I have always been an over waterier.
I've been going to OWA!!! the last two weeks and it has been working great.

"Over Water Anonymous"

Plants are so Much better.... :)
Its been over two years since growing babies and going into Plant Life, I check on them too much and worry about them... Whew!!

Withdraws are tuff.
I want to water them...
I need to water them...
I need, I need, I need...

Whew!! I think I can make it...

:circle-of-love:Hi Glitch, during veg you can hang it at 24". During flower, you can lower it to 18" or below.:Namaste:

:circle-of-love:Hi Glitch, Reflector192 will cover 4'x4' area. MarsII400 and 60x5w will be enough for your grow area. You can keep the Reflector192. You may need it in the future.:cheesygrinsmiley:
And one more question. I have a mars 2 400 watt. A mars hydro 60x5 and a 192x3 reflector. I'm torn between using both the 400 and 60x5. Or just using the reflector. Or selling all and getting a mars 2 700 or 900 I know its over kill for my space but I wana get high yeilds.

:circle-of-love: Hello Happyjoy, Option 1,2,4 will be better choices. Mars Pro differs from MarsII in design. Mars Pro has cup and reflector board which will ensure more light output and balanced lighting. Besides, Mars Pro has vents in the front and will run cooler. However, if you only want more watts, you can keep Reflector96 and add another light.:circle-of-love:
hey there. im looking to upgrade my rig and was hoping to get some advice.
im currently running 1 96x3 marshydro reflector.
room size: 2x3 feet. 5 feet height.

the 96x3 just isnt pushing it during flower for my room size. so i must upgrade.
ive got about 200$ to invest
i considered buying another 96x3 (which would actually be the new 96x5), but then noticed, that id much rather, just sell my current 96x3, and instead purchase with all the money together a light for 500$.

whats the best light, for my room size (2x3, by 5' height) for that price range? or assuming i cant sell my 96x3, whats teh best light for 200-300$ budget that i can use together my 96x3?

the draw wattage of my 96x3 is around 180W

LOOKS LIKE MY OPTIONS ARE:
1) buy a 96x5 and run together with my 96x3 (about 63w sq ft together with my 96x3)
2)a mars II 700, and not sell my 96x3, instead run this together with my 96x3 (about 80w sq ft)
3)to sell my 96x3, and buy a PRO 160 epistar (60w sq ft coverage)

OPTION 4 (not really connected to marshydro though)
4)i can keep my 96x3, and buy a 250w HPS to combine with it
that way i get benifits of both the LED and HPS.

is the marshydro pro series just the same idea as the marsII except with the added bells and whistles of humidity guage different lighting modes? im reallly not interested in all those different mode to save a few pennies on wattage uptake. i thought the best was just full spectrum for the whole grow.

am i better off overall, keeping my 96x3 and running together with a marsII 70, or a 96x5. or is the product outcome quality of the pro epistar series so much better, that its worth selling the 96x3, and buying just a pro 160, and having less sq ft coverage than the other two options but a better quality light?????

I am sorry to hear about this, Klovneposen. Give her my best wishes.:Namaste:
Hi dear Mars family merry X-mas to all

Okay this is about as off topic as it gets but there is so many good people will the world of knowledge to shear in here so here goes.

So my stepmoms sister have gotten bone cancer and it has spread to the lungs and lever. shes at therminal stage they just told me yesterday at christmas. my stepmom was so sad. she asked if i could help her make some oil for her sister. i have only made iso and hbo oil for my own getting high tendensies and stabilizing my mental issues so im for the most a sativa guy, Im collecting some indica strains now for the perpose of making some oils for her. if anyone have any good readings on the subject they thing i will get some good knowledge from plz let me know. i gave my self a week to collect a big indica stash and reading up on medicinal purposes for cancer patients before my stepmom has to go visit her again. so if any good advice just hit me with it people :) And yes i know its not gonna cure her or nothing but could it just keep the nassea down and maybe help a bit on the lost appetite and maybe a bit of pain releif it will be worth a try. best regards to everyone and merry X-mas

:circle-of-love: thank you for the advice, aphrodisia.:high-five:
Options 2 and 4 are your best options. You can either combine your 96 x 3w with a Mars II 700w which will give you very good results or you can combine it with a 250w HPS to give you a fully balanced spectrum as Leds and HPS lighting complement each other.

:cheertwo:thanks for the updation, Purple~~:cheertwo: Maybe when the flower comes out, we will have a clearer clue.:cheesygrinsmiley: So far, they look healthy.:cheertwo:

New grow closet setup. MarsII 400 and a older 60x5
For a total of 320 actual watts in a 2x2' micro grow.
80 watts a square foot should grow some nice stuff.

:cheesygrinsmiley:wow, be careful of the temp.:high-five:
I've done some. Test runs the last few days. With ambient temperature in my house that's normal fairly constant I'm maintaining an average of 78f and a low of 70f. The LEDs seam to be very cool aswell. I've made sure to keep adequate space around the LEDs. Also not shown in the picture are the 3 exhaust fans at the very top. By my calculations I can replace the air in the grow once every minute. But they barely fit together in there. And I'll be using the new reflector when I step up to a nice mars hydro tent. Then I can have a proper perpetual garden.
