Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

is it okay to veg with both the bloom and growth switches on? Full spectrum veg? anyone?

More wattage + full spectrum during veg = more energy produced by plant and faster vegetative growth = bigger, more robust plant when it's time to flower = more buds when it's all said and done. The veg stage sets the foundation for how your plants will perform in flower, I personally see no need to skimp on wattage in veg just to save a few pennies on the power bill.

:circle-of-love: it's my pleasure, Zippy. We are still looking for local distributors. Could you please send me an email info@mars-hydro.com? :cheesygrinsmiley: we can discuss more in details. I would love to help you with your 4pcs MarsII. Don't forget to tell you you are Zippy from 420.:high-five:
:thanks::high-five: Thank you for your advice SmokeSara, I think i'll go with the 4 mars II :thumb:
I have another question. Are you still interested in finding local distributors around the world ? Maybe i could help you out with that :Namaste:

:circle-of-love: Hi Fiete, our MarsII has been updated with switches for Veg and Bloom. However, only in US, all MarsII models are with switches. In other countires, only some have switches. :Namaste: the power consumption for MarsII700 under Veg is about 250w. :Namaste:
Good Morning! It is true the Mars2 have Bloom and Vege Switch Buttoms??? How much Watt consum the Vege spectrum only?

:circle-of-love: Hi direless, yes, we are never stopping upgrading them.
wondering about the upgrade to 5w leds in the reflector series. did you upgrade drivers, power and heat sinks to adjust for extra power and heat?

:thumb:thanks for this thorough advice, randy.:hugs:
Well Stoney where should we start? Water PH 5.8 to 6.2 or in hydro 5.5 to 6, PH of soil is to high, Temps are either to high or to low, humidity is to high or to low, water temp if using a reservoir either high or low, Feeding not balanced too much of something has caused a nute lock out, not enough air movement intake, exhaust, and circulation, root rot (too much moisture surface of soil should be dry), salt build up in soil, shock from handling or trimming, or perhaps they are taking a brake for the Holidays. Just go over what you are doing and remember all plants are not equal even in the same strain just find the happy medium.

:circle-of-love: Hope it will goes well.:cheesygrinsmiley:
I'm thinking I need to water them 2 every other day instead over everyday. I will start with that and see how it goes. Thanks for the reply

:thankyou: thanks for sharing us your experience.:hugs:
Watering everyday is too much. Let them dry out a bit. I run a 3 part mixture of Fox Farms Ocean Forest, Promix BX and Perlite. The FFOF and the Promix both have perlite in it so I am adding quite a bit more. My soil drains VERY well and I am watering every 3-4 days. Let them dry out or you may run into root rot. :peace:

:thumb: well said, Glitch. We don't need to stress too much on the plants.:high-five:
I had always thought of 75-85 day temps and 65-75 night temps. But I've seen people growing in over 90 degrees f and have no issues. I know there is a perfect zone somewhere but weed grows outdoors with no human intervention in much more harsh conditions with no issues. I think sometimes we stress to much over it. Slow growth is usually caused by rootbouding or nutrient lock or over feeding and general shock. Not so much temp issues. I think your temps are just fine. My cfl grow was that temp range and my girls were healthy. Just my 2 cents.

:thumb: thanks for the explanation, Richard. Get it!:thanks:
The infrared output of HID lights heats up the leaves, so the ambient temperature should be lower.

With LEDs, the ambient temperature has to be higher, to account for the lack of IR in the spectral output.

:circle-of-love: Hi Niknaks, after Reflector has been updated to 5w, it installs heatsink. Moreover, the gap between leds is wider so as to dissipate the heat more easily. :high-five:
I would like to know this too. :thumb:

I get a little paranoid leaving the house knowing the lights are on all day. Has anyone had any issues with the reflector lights over heating or anything?

:thumb: that sounds great!:cheesygrinsmiley:
I have twice gone on vacation, once for 7 days and another for 10 days leaving the (2) Reflector 192 series set at 18 on 6 off and I have no worries about overheating while away.

:thanks: Thank you Blazy, email has received.:high-five:
Sara I e-mailed you yesterday, let me know if you received it

Got some girls ready and waiting to show off what your lights can produce
