Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:party:Happy Birthday! CatfishKnight!:party:I am so lucky to catch this.:tommy: The new babies will sprout to greet you Happy Birthday. :xmas: Enjoy your time:blunt:
Yes I did Randy. I have Cal/mag in my water tank, also a low dose of fert.
My ppm is around 400 in the water with that mix and a little of Bio Weed "Cold Press Sea Weed" in it.
With those rapid rooters plugs the seeds usually sprouts within 4 days.
So today which is My Birthday by the way, I took the week off and next, Lol, is the 3rd day of planting new seeds.
So hopefully they will sprout today... :) or tomorrow is fine.
Thanks for the info.

:cheertwo:Many good news today!:cheertwo: The tent will arrive next month in UK...:high-five:
... and my Mars II has arrived. Thanks Ruby at Mars Hydro for sorting my order. Ordered late Sunday from China, arrived today in the UK. The light is incredibly bright!

Just waiting for news on my Mars Hydro tent to begin my first medical grow. High CBD here I come!

:circle-of-love: Hi Skid, both will be ok. Reflector192 will cover 4'x4' and MarsII900 will cover 3.5'x3.5':circle-of-love:
Mars II 900 or a Mars 192 reflector for a 3x3 grow tent?

:circle-of-love: in that case, Skid, you can consider about Reflector144. It will cover 2'x4' well.:high-five:
I currently have a 4.5x4.5 tent but Im going to scrap it as its being held together with duct tape. Im having trouble deciding on a 3x3 or a 2x4. I plan on going scrog and the 2x4 seems like it woudl be easier to kind of work in as opposed to a square tebnt which could be a bit more challenging.

:circle-of-love: Reflector144 is fit for 2'x4'. 2pcs Reflector96 will cover 4'x4' area, but this option will not overkill. The draw power of 2pcs Reflector96 is 390w~400w. You will get about 50w/sqft. :Namaste:
what light for the 2x4? reflector 144? Would two reflector 96's be overkill?

:circle-of-love: Hi Zippy, welcome to this thread.:welcome:for 4'x4', Reflector192 or MarsII1200 is enough. But if you want several smaller lights, I advise you to choose 3pcs Reflector96 or 4pcs MarsII400. :circle-of-love:Here are differences between MarsII and Reflector series. The led chips on MarsII are narrower than that of Reflector series, so the intensity on average of MarsII is stronger but Reflector will cover more area and dissipate the heat more effectively than MarsII. That's why Reflector willrun a little cooler than MarsII. :Namaste:

Hello everyone,
I'm new to LED's and so I'd like to ask :
Which light do you recommand for a 120cmx120cm box (4x4ft) ?
I thought buying 3 MH reflector 144 or 4x MH II 400w. What is the main difference between those ?
I'm happy for every advice

:thanks: thanks for the help, Glitch.
The reflectors cover a rectangle area. The mars 2 1200 or 1600 would be great for your area. With just 1 light

:cheesygrinsmiley: most growers are running with both switches on.
Do most people run both switches? I would like to hear from others if they use both during flower / veg.

Thanks!

:circle-of-love: Hi Stoney, we don't have plan for changing the spectrum but we can accept customization. If you have special requirements for the spectrum, we can customize it.:circle-of-love:
Hey Sara does Mars plan on updating the spectrum on their led lights? If so do you know what gen of Mars ll will have updated spectrum?

Wow didn't know we could get custom spectrum lights. This company rocks. I love my 2 mars hydro lights. Can't wait to start using them lol.

Looking to get two mars 2 1200s for a 4x8 tent, or should I go with the reflector series instead?

And sara I don't see where to enter discount codes on the website, am I just not seeing it, or is it not there? I believe there were some youtubers mars sponsored who discounts for their viewers? Or is that old and done with? Looking to order two lights asap

Those would work great for that area. You could even spice it up and use a pair of the 1600 for some multi pound growing ha-ha.

Well its here. The flowering light. MarsII 400watt. I took a few pics of the diff veg and flower modes. Thing is built solid. The heat sinks are giant. And it feels very sturdy. Alot nicer than I expected for the price. Mars hydro is some good stuff no doubt.
This is my little 2x2x46" and 2x2x60" perpetual stealth grow closet. I may end up doing a larger room eventually but want to get good at my hobby first. First led grow. Only used CFL's before. Can't wait to show you guys the girls when they arrive. Will do a full journal. After getting this new light in today I already want a few of the big ones. The mars II 1600. I think 3 would be nice for a medium perpetual garden. 2 for flower 1 for veg and mothers and my old 60x5 for clones and seedlings.... What do you guys think ha-ha?

Also notice the first pic. The mars 2 has much more red spectrum just from looking at the light difference than the older models.

So after 4 days of drying, today was the big day: my first LED harvest was ready for weigh-in and jarring. All I can say is that Christmas came early this year, expectations have been exceeded.

To recap the details of my garden, I ran ~1000W of Mars Hydro LEDs over a 6.5' x 3' screen (2 x MarsII 900's, 1 x Reflector 48). Flood and drain hydro using GH Flora Series. 4 plants vegged for 9 weeks, 3 x Female Seeds C99, 1 x Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel.

Starting 6 days ago, I did my main harvest at day 61 of flower. I took all the main tops that were ripe and left some lower immature stuff to ripen up for another week or so. That initial cut yielded 369 g or 13.2 ounces of dry, super frosty buds. I estimate that there is still somewhere in the neighbourhood of 3-5 ounces of smaller buds left to come down in a few more days. 3 ounces would be on the conservative end, so I will have pulled at least one pound of dry buds from my Mars LED's on the first try. I am very happy with this result, and so glad I decided to make the jump to LED's. I thought I could not afford to seriously try growing with LED until finding this thread and learning about the Mars Hydro lights, so thank you to the Mars Hydro team and all the helpful posters in this thread.

Here are some pics of the happy harvest in jars as well as what I still have remaining to be harvested on my screen. I will post some bud shots after the nugs have had a week or two in glass.

Still to cut:
