Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Good morning all,
I know a bunch of you are all ready using Mars hydros so I thought I would ask your input to help remake a recommendation to my brother. Apparently on a few of the online dealers they are having black Friday sales on Mars hydros lights and doing like combination packages. He is looking to get coverage for a 3 x 4 foot scrog and one other plant. He he has a rough budget of $550 and found 3 of the reflector 96 in a package deal for 487. though I do not know if this includes shipping or not. I told him before he buys them he should check and see if Sara has any kinds of black Friday deals going and if not, with the site discount and buying more then 1 if he could actually do better by buying through Sara.
So what do you guys think? 1 light that covers the whole area or multiple smaller ones which can cover the same area but have overlap?

If he orders from the Mars-Hydro website, he will get free shipping and a discount for ordering 3 at a time. I think Sara said they were having a Black Friday sale although I am not sure if the reflectors are part of the sale. Also, coupon code COFINEST will get you a little more discount. :peace:

If you check Mars Hydro twitter site they are giving a 5% discount on some of the Mars 2 lights for Black Friday I have not seen any for the Reflectors, Perhaps Sara can put a package together for you and bring another Lamb into the Flock.

I myself prefer multiple lights so that there is flexibility after all you do not need a big light for seedlings or even veg and if a light has issues there is no drama for the few days it takes to get repairs. Given the choice I would get three 96 X 5 over two 144 X 5 or one Mars 2 but that's just my opinion
 
I would do the (2) 144x5 as randy mentioned to get the slightly better coverage. Because with one light, you are stuck with moving your plants under the light vs moving your lights out to cover your plants. Hence the reason I used (4) 600w vs (1) 1600w

Hey guys,

I've just finished an amnesia lemon strain under my Mars II 700w it turned out great super potent.in hydro using AN notes
Colas on this strain are thin though.
I grew it in a gorilla grow tent 1m x 1m square and 7ft high.
Was just wondering is it possible to grow 2 plants in this size space,have any of you guys pulled off good results?
Or could you recommend a good strain say 60% sativa 40 indica that produces good fat colas instead of long thin colas like amnesia lemon
 
I almost got the square one too, but with my U-shape tables I didn't want it to extend into the middle of the room, so I got the slender ones. Looks very nice 420flyboy.

i like the added space between the rows, i feel like it helps alot with coverage. soooo beautiful :circle-of-love:
 
so I was looking at all my photos and I decided to make a little slideshow of my last grow the auto Somango grow it was my first auto grow I used a cheap free slideshow maker so the quality is not that great but I think it turned out ok I had a ton more pics I could have added but I did not want to make the slideshow to long this was made with less then half of the pics I had from that grow tell me what you think

Well, today is day 42 of flower, and I'm still in love with these Mars LED's. My buds are still growing in size and are filling out and packing on weight be the day. Absolutely insane resin production under these lights. On the home stretch now, last week of feeding before a 2 week flush....all my plants are looking to go 9 weeks. I'm growing in a 6.3' x 3' SCROG under roughly 1000W (actual) of Mars LED's....2 x Mars II 900 and 1 Reflector 48. The sativas (closest to camera in overall screen photos) are Female Seeds C99 and the the indica are Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel. The C99 buds are long and spear shaped, the CC buds are round, super thick baseball-buds that are also super dense......very impressed with how they did under LEDs. I've got 5 plants total in a flood and drain system, GH notes. These babies will be dried, cured, and ready to smoke in time for Xmas :)
