I'll give you a different answer here than you may expect but from what I understand it is better to run with both switches in veg. The reasoning behind this is that the plants not having enough red spectrum during the vegetative phase will affect the yield when the plants are flipped into flowering. There is at least one good write up on 420Magazine regarding this that I know of and probably more, tried and tested scientifically elsewhere. The veg only spectrum is great for seedlings but once past that stage they need the full spectrum or you will have problems gaining a good yield. I'm busy at the moment and can't remember where the write up was but it was quite conclusive, I'll try and find it later. It's about time that I started blogging all these nuggets of info. OK so turn on both switches. The light is so bright with just the veg with both holy smokes. I am going to leave it at 30 Inches for a few more days because of turning on both veg and bloom
